As Leo slowly opens his eyes, he is momentarily greeted by a hazy, blurred vision caused by the remnants of the intense, radiant light he had just experienced. However, as his eyes gradually adjust, he becomes aware of the soothing touch of cool air brushing against his skin, invigorating him with a refreshing sensation. With the fading blur, Leo realizes that he is no longer in the confines of his familiar apartment. Instead, he finds himself standing on the precipice of a verdant, emerald forested mountain, its sprawling expanse captivating his senses. The scenery surrounding him unfolds in breathtaking detail—a symphony of lush, green foliage swaying gently in the wind, dappled sunlight cascading through the canopy, and vibrant flowers adorning the forest floor in an array of colors. As Leo takes in the awe-inspiring view, he glances downward and spots a charming village nestled at the foot of the mountain. Overwhelmed by confusion, Leo meticulously scrutinizes his surroundings, analyzing the atmosphere and contemplating the perplexing situation until he finally arrives at a startling revelation—he has been transported to a different world.
As he found himself capable of anything, he suddenly became aware that he was no longer wearing his glasses, yet his vision remained crystal clear. Not only that, but he also noticed a transformation taking place within his body and caught sight of a tattoo on his hand. Finally, it dawned on him that the tattoo symbolized the heroes within the video game 'God's Grace,' flooding his memory with the recollection of this significant emblem.
Now, he knows that he has possessed another body and he is now in the game of 'God's grace'. Leo tries to call the 'System'.
The 'God's Grace' System is an interactive feature designed for players to access comprehensive information about the heroes within the game. Although Leo initially harbors doubts about its functionality, considering it to be solely a game element, his skepticism quickly dissipates when he summons the system. To his astonishment, a vivid, three-dimensional holographic window materializes before Leo, presenting him with an array of details to explore:
Name: Leo
Age: 18
Race: ???
However, before Leo can peruse the complete status, a cascade of perplexing thoughts inundates his mind. "Wait a minute," he muses, furrowing his brow. "Is this really my status? It displays my name correctly, but why does it show my age as 18? I mean, my true age on Earth is 38. And why my Race Is ???."
Ignoring the persistent distraction, he defiantly persists in engrossing himself in the contents of the status displayed before him:
Stolen novel; please report.
Level: 999
Leo, upon beholding this astonishing revelation, finds himself taken aback and a cascade of thoughts rushes through his mind, exclaiming inwardly, "Hold on! The maximum level? I've reached the pinnacle of progression, the absolute peak!"
In this game, reaching level 999 signifies the ultimate zenith for all heroes, beyond which further advancement becomes impossible. It is aptly labeled as the coveted 'Max Level', denoting the unattainable summit of power and expertise.
With the level, Max is happy and continues to read the status:
Trait: Battle lover, Adventures...
Special Trait: (Click to Expand)
Description: (Click to Expand)
Leo is accepting of that, and he already knows about the special trait because only two kinds have them: heroes and demons.
Lucky is given to heroes.
Unlucky is given to demons.
As Leo clicks on Special Trait, he was shocked to see that.
Special Trait: Unlucky.
Leo shouts with a confused and annoyed face, "What the fuck is going on here?"
In this world (game), the concept of "unlucky" transcends mere stumbling into a pit; instead, it serves as an indication of one's proximity to the divine. In the case of Leo, he finds himself at odds not only with all the gods but also with other heroes who devoutly follow them. His existence poses a threat to the very fabric of the divine order, challenging the deities and their loyal followers at every turn.
Before Leo could react, he noticed someone nearby, their cries echoing through the air and growing closer by the second. As he swiftly turned, his gaze met the sight of a baby girl goblin, tears streaming down her cheeks. The goblin girl, who appeared to be nearly five years old, possessed an irresistibly adorable face. Her small body was adorned in a girl's hue, and her eyes shimmered a mesmerizing shade of blue, reminiscent of the vast expanse of the sky. Her ebony hair cascaded down, framing her delicate features. As Leo observed her, he uttered a single word, a declaration of innocence and charm, "Cute."
Leo was taken aback by her overwhelming cuteness, his heart skipping a beat as he laid eyes on her. However, he was acutely aware of the deep-rooted enmity between humans and demons, realizing the crucial role of the hero in vanquishing the monstrous creatures that threatened their existence. Despite this, Leo grappled with a moral dilemma; he knew that he had already reached his maximum potential, making it unwise for him to harm such an adorable girl.
Leo, perspiring heavily. Her voice trembled as she pleaded desperately, "Uncle Leo, please save our village! A hero is launching an attack upon us!" Her words were punctuated with an air of urgency, reflecting the imminent danger that loomed over their community.
Leo was taken aback by the fact that he knew her, but what astonished him, even more, was the realization that a low-level goblin possessed the ability to speak. However, before he could make sense of the situation or share his astonishment with anyone, a sudden and deafening explosion reverberated from the heart of the village, shattering the tranquility of the surroundings and sending shockwaves through the air.
