The Darkness arrives

The Darkness arrives

The bar spoke to Dove, not in a literal sense as that will be weird. Who would drink in a talking building? No self respecting personification of a concept, angel or god would do so. Not even the trickster gods, and those were weirdos to Dove. Taking in the smell of beer and good food, Dove sighed and turned to Essi and Death. Each were polar opposites of each other. Dove wasn’t sure that they liked each other, but they were here for her and that is what made them great friends.

“How about we start with some drinks?” Dove asked in a soft tone with a smile bright enough to make someone blush.

“Drinks will be nice, but let's not go overboard.” Death was being boring now, Dove loved her company, her soft lips on her skin and her comforting hugs, but she was too responsible. It was like this since the beginning. Always responsible, and making sure she doesn’t go too far. Dove wished Death loosened up. Afterall, this was her night, her night to let go and forget about Samuel.

“Boring boring, boring Death. Shall we give you some water oh mother?” Mocked Essi as she jumped on one of the stools.”Bartkeep, give me and my friends a spore shrine.” The Sporeshrine was a type of liquor made from the first spark of creation in all of existence. Dove never tried it. Perhaps because it didn’t feel right. No, no it was because she hadn’t thought of it.

The barkeep was a large golem with runic symbols etched into his rocky body. His eyes were emeralds, and the material that made up his form was obsidian.” Three sporeshirnes coming up.” He spoke faster than Dove expected. There was no slow drawn out way that he spoke. It was almost as clear as hers. Clearly whoever made him was a master crafter.

Death didn't bother answering Essi. She sat on one of the stools, and Dove sat beside her. Death's appearance changed from casual gothic attire to a dress and her short hair lengthened draping over her shoulders, and makeup that made her paler than the color white itself. The dress was long, and modest, though instead of heels, she wore boots. Dove frowned a bit, and looked at her casual attire of sneakers and jeans, an outfit that won't be in existence for tens of thousands of years. Time was nonlinear for entities like Dove/

"I feel out of place here. Everyone here is wearing such fancy clothes." Dove said to Death and Essi." Some of these people are naked." Dove turned to look at a nude goddess, making out with a humanoid vulpine spirit. Her tongue wrapped around his in lust, spit, and passion.

"Another of Aphrodite's daughters. Hm with a spirit of sorts, one of those kitsune, tricksters." Essi said, absorbing in the emotions from such a passionate scene.

Dove turned around to see a god, feasting on the livers of some dead creature. His mouth was covered in blood, and he enjoyed himself too much to Dove. Next was a void with multiple eyes, mouths and arms. It was sucking chocolate milkshake out of a straw that defied all rules of logic.

"Even horrors such as the spawn of the great void are here. Never would have thought that Iozie loved milkshakes. Well to each their own." Death turned away from looking at such a scene and back to Dove.

"Then put on your dress, Dove. I love the pink one and the pretty rainbows." Essi giggled.

Dove was about to speak but a server came through with a tray with three shining drinks that sparkled like fireworks." Here are your drinks." The server had no head, and the body was made of only plastic. Dove saw no beating heart, nor muscles pulsing.

The glasses were short, but it was enough to get everyone started.

Essi took up a glass and raised it in the hair." To us, the most fun personifications of concepts in all of existence.

Dove and Death repeated it at once and raised their glass.

Dove drank the golden liquid and she nearly spat it out. Her chest was on fire, no fire was a fairytale with what she was experiencing. She went past that frontier. After it went into her stomach, she let out a loud burp that caused a flower to grow out of the ground. Everyone was looking at her now, so embarrassing. Instead of laughter, the whole bar erupted in a cheer of such a magnificent burp. The burning was nothing compared to the pleasure of being cheered for such a lowly achievement. Though the volume of the burp was impressive.

"I can do better than that!" Essi roared as she chugged the entire drink down. Her stomach growled, no it roared like an angry predator. It was going to wage war against this Princess of Chaos. She clenched her stomach, and bent over." No, I shouldn't have done that." Essi farted and small gaseous lifeforms came into existence. Dove was dumbfounded as she created sentient farts. What was this night? Not even she, a member of the godhead knew what was happening anymore. The gaseous lifeforms floated for a while, happy for their chance at existence. Unfortunately this was not a place for mortals. One by one each started to disappear. Their last brief moments were filled with terror and oblivion.

Death covered her mouth. Her cheeks turned red with apparent laughter.

Dove never could stay sad forever in the company of these two. However, Essi was not done suffering, and covered her mouth with her cheeks becoming filled with bile and surphic smoke. She ran out towards the outside, the room filled with laughter. Chaos was well chaotic, Dove didn't know what would come if those of chaos ingested a spark of creation. Dove had lesser effects. Sure she only had a sip and not down the entire shot like Essi but Dove was a child of the Father and of the void, both creation and destruction was in her essence.

Turning back to her bartender, she said." Give me a bottle of ambrosia, something tolerable." Dove coughed a bit, and butterflies manifested into existence before withering up.

"Coming right right up " the bartender was so nice, he didn't even comment on his friend's embarrassing moment. Of course Dove would have to know what happened after she vomited her contents up.

Dove didn't wear casual attire anymore but a long pink dress with a small crown with the gem of the universe embedded at the top of it. Instead of boots like Death, Dove was barefoot with flowers and grass growing underneath the soles of her feet. She was a princess, it was time she looked like it. Doing a quick look around, she saw a god, a naked man with a tan and muscular features. His hair was blonde and his eyes were aqua blue like the oceans. In his hand was a glass of purple liquor, upon Dove meeting eyes with his, he made a kissing gesture. He wasn't on the Divine council, in fact Dove didn't know him.

"Hey Death, who is that?" The mental message Dove sent to Death made her chuckle.

"A son of Poseidon, and some unknown Olympian goddess. He is Vassilis, a lesser god but a god nonetheless." Upon hearing his name, Dove visibly blushed and turned away from him." He is harmless but I wouldn't take him back to the Golden City. It might create some issues due to your current predicament."

Dove opened her mouth to retort her. The words that were there disappeared like smoke. She was going to say that she can do anything she wants, but she knew in her heart that Death was right.

"I will go talk with him." Dove said, leaving before Death could audibly say anything. However, beings like them didn't need mouths.

"Have fun, tell me the story when you are done."

Dove rolled her eyes as she stopped in front of the muscular god." Is the seat taken?"The table he was sitting was round with several empty seats excluding the handsome god.

"No, I am alone, you can sit anywhere you want, princess." His voice was smooth, and soft, almost like speaking to her therapist. She swallowed and sat across from him." So what brings Princess Dove to my table?"

Dove raised her eyebrow in shock." You know who I am?"

"Any god or goddess worth anything knows who the Princess of Heaven is. You aren't exactly subtle in your duties. I saw you when you made an ocean world, and filled it with all sorts of aquatic life.” He paused to take a sip of his drink, clearing his throat he groaned. May I offer some criticism?"

"Sure, I am willing to hear it." She said quickly, flustered that such a beautiful god was interested in her art of creation.

"You have the skill of a master, a beautiful master but it is like you are copying from a template. For example, the fish have an utter sameness that I don't care for."

Dove smiled, and leaned forward." Oh really, will you show me how to spice things up?" She said, the iris of her eyes turning into hearts.

The god manifested two empty wine glasses, and a new bottle. He filled them to the top and handed one to Dove." I will be willing. My name is Vassilis, and I must say it will be an honor to personally help the princess of heaven, in more ways than one."

Dove laughed and took a sip of the wine. Already, she visioned riding him to completion. Tasting his breath, his moans, and each word of pleasure. Even now she could taste it. This was a perfect activity to forget about the rebellion. And a decade of sex and companionship never hurt, especially with such a delicious god.

However, a feeling of dread and emptiness overwhelmed Dove without warning. It was so jarring that it could break her neck. When she turned to see what that feeling was coming, her stomach dropped, her mouth went dry as if she ate sand. When she saw those void black eyes, raven hair and a body that was emptiness itself, she simply froze. The body was not a body at all, but a black hole.

"Daughter, I have been hunting you. He has hid you for so long in the golden city but now I have found you." When a primeval spoke, it was impossible not to listen. Even if Dove blocked all sound and rewrote reality where sound wasn't a concept, she would still hear her.

Nearby angels rushed her like battle automata finally coming back to their programming. It was as useless as an ant attacking a mountain. Their wings flapped violently in order to reach her mother faster. With a look, her mother destroyed the angels. Their bodies turned black as coal, and each fell limp as every part of them ceased to be. Even the holy swords in their hands made from the forges of the first fire faded. Dove knew that there was no afterlife for them, no rebirth, and no more communion with the godhead.

"Disgusting little creatures, your father made them so flawed. No better than machines, I can do better." Her mother snapped her fingers, and twisted the golem long strings of metal, destroying his laws that made up the bartender. He screamed in agony as he was being remade from his very atoms.

The rest of the occupants were frozen, their faces went pale in fear. Some laughed, losing their minds at seeing a primeval in all their glory. The reason Dove and Death didn’t drive any insane was due to a limitation they put. If any saw their true forms, they would die.Vassilis was consumed by terror. His entire body was shaking uncontrollably. Dove grabbed his hand, and instilled peace that stopped the fear. Run, take who you can and run. Dove telepathically said to him as she stared at her mother.

"Stop it!" Dove stepped forward, and her staff flew towards her and she grabbed it." You are hurting him. It is me you want, leave him be."

Her mother ignored her for several seconds before erasing the golem completely. Atom by atom separated from his form as he was being unmade. He would have been reincarnated if killed by anyone else, but her mother was precise in destruction. The energy in the atoms faded away, making sure he would never come back ." I was there before existence itself, before all these puny gods that you are trying to save. Even those kitunes were memories when I reigned supreme." She raised her hand, dark energies coated them as she prepared to erase the entire room.

The blade of a scythe immediately went crashing down, the ancient blade meeting the essence of the void. Her mother's arm fell off, though there was no reaction as Death rushed towards Dove and went by her side. Dove slammed her staff, and all but the three were banished back to their own homes.

"Death? What power does Death have over darkness, the void, emptiness. When the last star dies, I will be here. My daughter will be here. What about you little Death." The words of her mother lacked any care for life at all. There was no rage, disappointment or frustration, it was pure apathy. The apathy made Dove and Death shiver simultaneously.

She continued." Dove, why don't you join me in blessed nothingless. My servants are so happy in my service. How much so will you be, my own flesh and blood, my daughter. What use is creation? So fleeting, so dull, so temporary. Not so with the void. It is eternal, unchangeable and vital. Your civilizations will thrive, yes but not by much. They will soon rot, and come into my realm." Her voice was comforting, lovely, and Dove for a second was tempted to give up the Father, her brother and become an heir to Oblivion.

"What is in your realm? What enjoyment is there?" Dove asked, it was a pointless question, but Dove wanted to hear it from her own lips.

"Dove, there is nothing."

Dove swallowed, her heart beating like a drum. Her mother wouldn't kill her, she couldn't. Dove didn't believe that as her mother was the Void, the dark at the end of everything. She couldn't breathe, Dove couldn't open her mouth to say a word as if the void has taken away the concept of words. Dove couldn't fight this strength, she didn't know what to do. She was supposed to be all knowing!

"Dove told you before, she isn't coming with you." Death said, putting her scythe between her and Dove." She has told you that she will pick her own path. It is her decision, you can't force her."

Lines broke across Dove's mother's flesh, blood flowed from the holes and dripped on the floor. An aura of darkness emitted from her like smoke." You have turned her against me. You and your kind should have never existed. Dove, I am not asking anymore, I am telling you, come here." Reality broke down, particle by particle was being erased. There was no talking it out with her mother. Dove rose up her staff, and spoke a word so ancient that it was not spoken since the reign of darkness. A reign where her mother ruled.

An explosion bloomed as she slammed her staff down and both Death and her were thrown out of the bar. Instead of hard ground, they landed on a massive crow that took off. Essi was there, still a bit uneasy from her little issue with the drink.

"That will buy us some time. Essi, can you call upon the lords of chaos?" Yelled Dove, her staff glowing with ancient power." Do you know what is going on?"

"I do, but they won't be enough. There are only a few who can challenge your mother and defeat her."

"Father, Sophia, Jesus, and Grandfather, and I already insulted Father and Jesus, maybe Sophia." A roar caused all three to look behind them and the bar was consumed by a pitch black eternal darkness.

"Death what do I do?" Dove asked.

Death stayed silent for a couple seconds before saying something that Dove would never think she would hear." I don't know."

In the library of fate strolled grandfather, holding a book of every story, every event, and every single action. He looked at the current page, a bit hesitant to turn to the next. His granddaughter was in trouble, but he made a rule to himself that he should not interfere in the lives of his family.

"Even I must break my rule sometimes." He smiled as he turned the page.
