MARVEL: Stray
19 DISFIGURED

19 DISFIGURED

Stray's Extremis powers are all over his face. The orange heat akin to the burning star colors his face in its most demented form. He wears the black suit reminiscence of Obie's bodyguards. From his gait, and the way he carries himself, he has the air of a gentleman.

Like an actor, he presents himself to his thousands of audiences. The disfigured and squinting eyes are a horrifying sight that adorns himself with ugliness speaking volumes of how he is the 'bad guy', a brilliant labeling only achievable with the right push.

Morgan despite the helmet covering her face, shows this menacing look on her, the gravitons around her are agitating at her every command. The earth where she stands visibly shudders in her very presence.

The Disfigured One, Stray, opens his mouth, and unpredictably speaks of a 'prophecy' of his own making.

"I am the Revelator, the disfigured messenger from beyond! In two years' time, this world shall fear an ancient god ought not to be real! He shall bring an army to level this land and make this realm of his own ruling, in servitude to another more powerful godly entity! We are but ants on their boots. Hear the prophecy, prepare yourselves, and know that I have warned you."

There is a glow in his eyes and overflowing charisma that seems to envelop the intoxicating madness tilting on the balance of spectacle and conspiracy. Stray knows a good entertainment if he sees one, and surely, he knows damn well how to act.

Morgan doesn't know what Stray is up to, but she was hearing just fine. Hinting at the 'Battle Of Newyork', she doesn't know if that is the right thing to do, but whatever Stray is attempting, Morgan decides to stay silent. She doesn't want to admit it, but she cannot go full ballistic on Stray at the moment.

The strange atmosphere, the way he carries himself, and that masterful manipulation of his Extremis powers are telltale signs of how different this Stray is since their last fight. And she isn't wrong…

The current Stray after all has several more skills under his belt.

[SKILL SYSTEM— SKILL POINTS— (25)

SUPERPOWER: Extremis Enhanced Gene (Advanced Mastery),

SKILLS: Thievery (B), Fleetfoot (D), Appraisal (C), Sleepless (C), Fighting (S), Strike (A), Pianist (D), Memorization (D), Socialization (E), Marvel Wiki (S), Mechanic (F), Gadgetry (F), Intimidation (F), Thermo-sense (S)]

The only skill that Stray has is Thermo-sense which he upgrades to S costing him a whopping 16 Skill Points. It is just one skill though, but it works great in tandem with his Extremis powers boosting it two levels in its mastery.

The Thermo-sense skill is a skill that allows Stray to measure the temperature around him both internally and externally.

Initially, Stray only has a beginner mastery over his Extremis Enhanced Gene, however after he learns and upgrades his Thermo-sense skill to S, Stray was able to reach Intermediate Mastery over an hour, Advanced Mastery over a day, and maybe the next level in a week.

Stray cannot breathe fire yet like Aldrich Killian from Ironman 3, bless that soul… Not that he is dead yet, but the case of Aldrich Killian is a story for another time.

"Revelator, is it?" Morgan mockingly addresses Stray, seemingly wanting to play his game, as such she addresses him as 'Revelator', Stray's villain alter-ego.

"Yes, I am the Revelator… It is a name that should be referred to with awe, however… For the likes of you, you shall address me as the Disfigured One, the name that shall be addressed with loathing and fear."

+Acting (F)

Stray's performance is flawless and even the system agrees. To the others' eyes, however, he is oozing a villainous vibe.

"So, are we just talking? Or are we gonna fight?" Morgan teases, her intentions too obvious to Stray.

Stray savagely laughs, not a sign of distraught in his eyes, and he mocks Morgan. "Do you think I don't know? Talking, and talking… I know you are buying time. It has been about five minutes since we start talking. You saw this as a chance. I assume you are very confident in the mobility of your suit. That's why you decided on stalling me until law enforcement arrives. They surely wouldn't let you go too, but who are you to care? You are too fast for them anyway…"

Morgan has been losing the verbal spar. Even in their last confrontation, she has been losing badly when it comes to talking. She doesn't know Stray was this good with words. In this case, he might as well talk every villain on planet Earth to submission.

Stray, or in this case, Revelator's eyes glow slightly gold emphasizing everyone's attention to him. It wasn't anything as grand as a hypnotic ability, just a theatric display to catch everyone's attention.

At this moment, Stray immerses himself in his villainous alter ego— the Revelator.

"Think, just think! Who would the law enforcement and the first responders go at first? Here or at Stark Industries where Ironman is making its first debut? You really don't know me at all, you see, bribing is definitely not beneath me."

The Revelator's words turn into needles that prick Morgan's skin, this time more vicious than ever! Bribing some cops and a few people are definitely within the Revelator's financial ability.

Morgan finally blows her fuse. She grabs her blue scarf and transforms it into a proto-canon.

'Oh, shit…'

Revelator returns to being just 'Stray' and ducks.

Stray doesn't know what a proto-canon is, but his Thermo-sense (S) skill is giving him crazy readings. The blue orb coming from the proto-canon rushes at the speed of light, and instantaneously appears beside Stray. It expands in a microsecond, swallowing Stray's left arm which hurts like a bitch.

Morgan cocks her proto-canon spitting what seems to be a shell. Stray takes a second look and realizes it was actually an Arc reactor the size of a thumb. Using Arc reactors as bullets? That's… insane…

It looks like Stray has to take this more seriously.

+Thievery (S) -11 SP

Stray ushers his system to upgrade his Thievery skill into S.

[Do you wish to sublimate your Thievery (S) and turn it into a superpower?}

'Uh, what?'

Stray consciously says yes in his mind.

[Superpower Sublimation at 1%]

[Superpower Sublimation at 2%]

[Superpower Sublimation at 3%]

Stray didn't expect it to be as instant as he can imagine. Now, two available strategies present themselves to him. Attrition or just fuck it?

"Fuck it…"

While healing his left arm, Stray had no hesitation as he lunges forward. He cannot have that proto-canon having an advantage over him. Retreating isn't an option as that would run contrary to his objectives of coming here.

Morgan like an expert gamer employs kiting on Stray. Stray usually hears in internet cafes in his past life that gaming skills aren't applicable to real life, but lo' and behold, Morgan is doing just fine.

Stay grits his teeth as another proto-orb grazes him taking off the barely regenerating arm together with the shoulder.

The road they are using as a battlefield is a mess. Stray is running forward with dedicated speed, and so is Morgan who maneuvers into hard angles contributing to Stray's difficulties in reaching her.

Morgan can fly, but her speed in the air is slower than on the ground. Morgan needs a big enough space enough so that she can leap off without Stray catching up to her. Stray with his Extremis powers is only slightly slower than Morgan on the ground, but that is enough to compromise Morgan.

Moreover, Stray is getting the better of her as he accurately measures the proto-canon's deadly energy projectiles. Morgan is feeling cornered.

"I am trying to be nice here, just stay still, if you don't want my proto-canon annihilating you to oblivion!" Morgan's electronic voice comes from her mouthpiece in its dull electronic tone, but inside her helmet, she is already panicking,

Stray answers her provocation with a kick causing her to veer ninety degrees to the left.

Though Morgan is walking on the wrong path, she is still definitely a good girl. If not good, then maybe naïve. She has been trying to take away Stray's mobility by trying to hit his legs, but she keeps on missing.

As Morgan flies midair thanks to Stray's kick, she diverts her nanotech to her boots creating Ironman thrusters using the repulsor technology. Using a hundred percent thrust, she bolts off like a rocket only for molten rock to arc in a parabola squarely hitting Morgan's face.

In front of Stray's face is a new skill he recently acquires by buying what is remaining of his Skill Points.

+Throwing (A) -6 SP

Morgan comes crashing down barely standing on her two legs. She is blind, and her suit's program interface is in a mess. She grabs the metallic mask covering her face and yanks it off. She sees Stray casually standing in front of her.

They are now in a relatively large deserted complex. Long the bystanders are gone, but this only adds to Morgan's worries as she realizes Stray might've been leading her to this place.

Stray using his hot orange hands grabs the solid steel pole, crumples it, and throws it at Morgan.

Morgan uses her anti-gravity to divert Stray's projectile.

Stray walks to Morgan with more caution than he requires. He has the overwhelming advantage yet he does this… He tries to show Morgan that he can do this any time of the day.

"We tried to talk… But we didn't really talk it out. Did we not? Back in Midtown High, you didn't even hear what I have to say. You told me to give up, and so I did… The second time we met, we came into a confrontation… We fought… I tried to talk, and again, you didn't listen. You say you are selfish because you want your father to live? I don't understand how that is selfish… I am quite aware of my own selfishness too, but at least I tell to people how my selfishness works… Well, that's because I have people to talk to, but you Morgan? You are alone… You don't know what you want. You are torturing yourself. Make sure that you're father lives, and then what? You'd kill the Morgan of this universe and maybe replace her? What then? What before that? Replace Ironman with you? You? The very woman who deprived this world of what it deserves? I don't understand what you are thinking… Please tell me…"

"Shut up, you just shut up, will you?"

Morgan says almost begging, but Stray doesn't hear any of it.

"I call myself the Disfigured One, but the person who is really the disfigured one here is you, Morgan…"
