Amid the scorching flames, Gwen watched in horror as Frank began to mutate. His skin rippled and twitched uncontrollably, while beads of sweat dotted his brow. Black tumors started to sprout from his head, and his teeth mutated—two curved, claw-like fangs jutted out from his sharp, dense set of teeth.
What terrified Gwen the most were the countless red eyes that appeared on the tumors. They resembled spider eyes, emitting an eerie and menacing aura.
Frank's muscles swelled, transforming him from human into a grotesque spider-like monster.
Gwen took a deep breath, forcing herself to remain calm. She grabbed a burning piece of gondola from the ground and hurled it at him before sprinting towards the panicked crowd without looking back. She was confident in her strength against regular people, but she stood no chance against this monstrous version of Frank.
The students on the playground also witnessed Frank's horrifying transformation, sending the already chaotic crowd into further disarray as they stampeded toward the exits.
"God! This can't be real!"
When Gwen reached Gloria, the latter was frozen in shock, staring at Frank in disbelief.
"God won't help us! Run!" Gwen shouted, grabbing Gloria's hand and pulling her along with the frantic escapees.
However, when they reached the gate, they found it locked. The person at the front pounded on the door, but it wouldn't budge. More and more people were crushed against the exit, their cries and screams blending into a terrifying cacophony.
A few agile boys scaled the wire fence, trying to unlock the door from the outside.
Vice Principal Morton was already there. Embracing his "tough guy" persona, he slapped a screaming girl and then punched a boy who was shoving his way through the panicked crowd.
The fire continued to spread across the grass, the crackling of the flames piercing the night air.
Frank, now fully transformed into a spider monster, didn't remain idle. In a flash, he grabbed a nearby football player, snapped his neck, and pulled him close. His spider-like fangs bit into the player's throat, causing blood to spurt everywhere.
Gwen watched in horror, the sight making her stomach churn.
Frank moved toward the fleeing students, killing another boy with a single strike, sending him flying like a ragdoll. His fate was unclear as he hit the ground hard.

"Huh!" Gwen exhaled, letting go of Gloria's hand. She turned to her friend and said seriously, "Listen, Gloria. You run and call the police!"
"What about you?" Gloria cried, tears in her eyes. She grabbed Gwen's wrist, pleading, "You can't go back! Gwen, you're not a superhero! You could get hurt or even die. Please, don't do this!"
"I have to do something," Gwen said firmly, pulling her wrist free and running back towards the chaos.
By now, the flames had reached the stage set up on the playground, and the nearby wires had caught fire, sending electric sparks flying.
"Bang!" The sound of the microphone exploding echoed throughout the playground.
Gwen glanced over and saw a classmate gripping the microphone, his eyes wide and his body convulsing as electric sparks leapt from him. It was clear he had been electrocuted.
Meanwhile, Frank continued his rampage near the exit, attacking students who hadn't yet escaped. Blood splattered across the ground, mingling with the sounds of the flames and crackling electricity.
Gwen took a deep breath, trying to steady herself. Scanning the area, she noticed a thick electric cable snaking across the ground, glowing with purple sparks.
"I can do this," Gwen muttered to herself. She sprinted over and grabbed the wire, dragging it toward Frank, hoping to electrocute him.
The electric current zapped Frank's back, but to Gwen's dismay, he merely twitched before turning around, completely unscathed. Her heart sank as his fangs rushed toward her.
She could even smell the foul odor from his mouth as he closed in.
Just when she thought it was the end, a loud "Bang!" rang out. Frank's fangs didn't reach her neck. Instead, a pair of hands grabbed Frank's neck from behind.
A familiar sensation of safety and comfort washed over Gwen.
The hands yanked Frank back and threw him to the ground with a loud crash, sending up dust and shaking the earth beneath them.
"Peter!" Gwen gasped, staring at Peter, who had suddenly appeared behind her. She thought he wouldn't come to the competition, but here he was, saving her.
"You're too stubborn, Gwen," Peter said, looking at her, her face smeared with dust and blood.
Peter hadn't intended to come to school, but Uncle Ben and Aunt May had insisted, saying he needed to "expand his social circle."
"I know," Gwen admitted, "but Frank was after me from the start. I have to take responsibility."
Without another word, Gwen grabbed Peter's hand, "We need to get out of here! He's a monster now."
The students had mostly fled by then, and Gwen had succeeded in delaying Frank long enough. It was time to escape.
But Peter shook his head. "It's too late."
Gwen followed his gaze to Frank, who was slowly getting back to his feet.
"What should we do?" she asked nervously, making a split-second decision. "I'll hold him off. Peter, you need to run."
Steeling herself, Gwen let go of Peter's hand and stepped in front of him.
Peter looked stunned for a moment before shaking his head, "You're not a superhero, Gwen."
"I have a responsibility," Gwen said firmly.
Peter was at a loss for words. Why does she think she's Spider-Man?
"But you're not strong enough," Peter said, shoving her aside just as Frank lunged forward.
With a loud "bang," Peter caught Frank's arm, stopping him in his tracks.
Feeling Peter's immense strength, Frank looked at him in horror.
"What kind of monster are you?!"
