Synopsis

Mariyah is a seventeen year old girl who is growing up in her kingdom while hiding a dangerous secret. She is a Shifter- her body can change into an animal as swiftly as a muscle movement. But not only is she a Shifter- she is a Multi Shifter. She can change into any animal that she wishes, which is unheard of in this universe. An unmarked Shifter living in a kingdom full of Naturals who possess no added trait is a death wish for her and her parents, which is why the secret must be kept. Keeping such a secret may be easy for her, but listening as those alongside her grow to hate her kind more and more, is not. With a hateful king and misguided citizens of the kingdom, frustration and helplessness builds up inside the girl, and she must only watch as her people are persecuted and seemingly close to killed off. But when a forbidden friendship arises, she finds herself continuously walking the line of danger by sneaking out to meet with this new friend. Soon enough, she's become a friend to an entire Shifter village in secret, keeping them alive amidst the persecution by smuggling in food. While living a double life with her friends in the kingdom, and her friends in the village, her kingdom friends grow suspicious of her increasingly frequent whereabouts. Eventually, a soldier catches Mariyah and her friend, and the situation turns for the worse. When Mariyah is stripped of all that she cares for, her life is torn apart before her and she is left with a seemingly easy decision: Leave this broken and suffering kingdom to live a life of freedom, or stay in this suffering with no plans other than a desire for peace.  Her choice paves the way for a long journey of the young girl stepping up when no one else would. She finds herself leading two hateful groups to coexistence while planning battles and rescues to protect all who she can until true peace is found. With moral questions constantly being thrown onto her lap, and betrayal tormenting her life, she struggles under the impossible burden of achieving peace and fixing a tear that seems to have no end. Under torture, betrayal, and torment, her will to lead these people is tested and she must find the answers of forgiveness and justice that no one else seems to know.
