What happens if trees could walk? Nobody knows. I can whip a prediction but that is not necessarily the reality itself. or maybe just because I don't ever encounter a Treant before and make this cringe-worthy thought just to be cool.
"Wow, I don't know you can earn gold coin by daydreaming," said a girl with a librarian as a job, Isn't reading a book the same as daydreaming in physical manner? you read written words that invoke scenes and concepts but from other people perception, you just staring at a paper, not to mention how she unironically rocks glasses and short shoulder-length hair, a textbook example of a librarian, followed by a white tunic concealed under her brown leather vest which is our guild attire, but I always ponder why she wearing the uniform with tight trousers, did I say tight? yes I did and I feel the need to emphasize it enough because of how adventurers love to leer at her supple ass. I don't know why it irks me so much to the point I need to mention it.
"Well, I can say the same about you Fyue, so why are you gracing me with your presence?" I said while staring at her eyes, everytime I see her, an emotion creeps behind me, nostalgia? déjà vu? I exhausted my memory and still unable to find a piece of memory with her.
"I bring a couple of books for the guild leader," She dumped it on the reception desk, knocked my wooden nameplate carved with "Acte" to the floor. If it's not for her not-so-bad-to-stare-at face I'll definitely avoid interacting with her in the future. I glance at the 2-inch thick book, "Basic Adventuring Skills" printed on the leather cover before I shift it out of the way to read the other book's title beneath it, "Advanced Adventuring Skills" I sighed as my suspense build-up for nothing.
I can recall every terminology on those books in seconds, as much as I view Fyue as a nerd, my mind automatically rejects that I'm the same. "Why would the Guild Leader want this?" "I thought you know about it since you working here as a Guild Assistant?" she then continued "a rookie adventurer just got a medal for number of bounty quests beaten and promoted to A-rank." wait, did she know the definition of rookie? or she just throwed it as a insult? "I meant it when I said rookie, He just joined here 3 months ago." She lean her body toward me "And with talent like that It'll be easy for him to become our guild top adventurer for bounty quest."
Bounty Quest is a type of job focus on eliminating any creatures including human, it's one from the three type of quests in the Guild system which operating in demand basis. A quest written with specific need and requirements so the adventurer can gauge their skill accordingly when deciding to take the quest. the other two type of quest are Support and Tutor Quest, Support Quest focus on daily and mundane task while the later is like the name suggest, tutoring. the Quest Submitter also can propose a contract for routine tasks to the Guild Assistant.

A young boy walk past me and Fyue, with shortsword strapped on hips, cowl with a mouth mask on his head and clinking pouch. his face resemble my brother, wait, I remembered my brother said that he become adventurer 3 months ago to help me earn money for our mom, but didn't he got a contract with a noble as a Support Adventurer? it can't be him right? In my experiences as Guild Assistant I know all of his skillset and knowledge and I don't find him to have a prowess to slay a monster or people. He has average education, physique and skill, at the very least he can take Support quest like a normal teenager would, considering the time for him, a 15 years old boy to develop muscle tone, agility and swordplay to slay a C-rank goblin it will take minimum 5 months of tutor from a retired swordsmen and a rich nutrient from regular food schedule.
"Kyle!" I shouted.
"Brother?!"
"What are you doing wearing those sword and clothes?"
Kyle walked toward me, reach for his pouch, untie it and pours the golden coins at the desk, "Look!" he pulls his mouth mask as to show the smirk on his face, "I got all of these for mom, she finally doesn't have to do those strenuous jobs again!" I can feel emotions brewed on the bottom of my chest, I wanted to shouted at him for doing the jobs secretly or to be honest, how he became on what I want to be, an overpowered Adventurer, the thought emerge with shame trailing behind it, I gritted my teeth and clenched my fist, how should I feel? proud? because he done a great job? only one question I can ask, "How you did you do it?"
"How?" He puts his hand behind his head and smiles "Talent I guess? I just thought to try picking up sword and do some swing with it before an old guy saw me and said I have great form."
Talent? so he just picking up the sword and all of the skill came to him magically? under 3 months? no there's must be explanation to this, maybe he just lied to me to look cool, I have to calm down, I can't have my emotion wrecks my train of thought, I must foc-
An old man approach me, he wears white kimono with katana tied on the sash. "Are you his brother?" "yeah" I nodded. "Kyle is really talented, each of his swing are accurate and powerful, even when he learns it from me, a samurai who wield katana not a shortsword" he smiled.
Talented? stop spouting those words in front of me.
