Prologue

Ryan Carter, age 12

The young boy looked on with disgust in his eyes as two fifth-grade kids beat up a third-grader. He didn’t hate violence, he hated outnumbering somebody. The boy stepped forward, he was going to intervene. “Hey,” The boy said to the two fifth graders, “I don’t like teaming.”

The fifth graders looked back and just started laughing, “What are you going to do about it?” The bigger of the two asked. The bigger of the fifth graders was practically a giant for a fifth grader, and his voice reflected it, it sounded like it belonged to a twelfth grader at least.

“Simple.” The young boy said, “Make it one versus one.” ‘What idiots,’ the boy thought ‘they didn’t even stop to wonder why I waited so long to step in’  The boy looked at the pebble he had kicked over a couple of seconds ago. The boy kicked the pebble directly into the biggest kid’s mouth. The choking that followed was practically pure bliss to the young kid as he walked away, that is, if he could feel bliss

“I’m not sure the cause,” the doctor said, “But your child has alexithymia.” It didn’t come as a surprise, after all, he never felt pity for anyone. He only cared about fairness, he thought of himself as the equalizer, anything in the name of fairness.

Of course, his family didn’t know he knew, it was only fair. They keep secrets from him, he keeps the same secrets.

Ryan Carter, age 5

The five-year-old kid looked on in disdain for the classroom in front of him. All his “friends” were idiots, his only purpose for them was that each of his three friends was friends with half of the class, partially overlapping, resulting in him having links to everyone in the class, making him the leader of his idiotic servants.

“Ryan?” his teacher called, the kid lazily looked at the teacher, “What is five plus seven?” Ryan thought about all of his possible answers. If he answered incorrectly he would be insulted and lose his passive leadership position, if he answered too quickly he could be insulted for being a nerd as some idiots would call him. Ryan waited exactly four seconds before answering “Twelve”

“Very good,” His teacher said, but Ryan didn’t care about praise. The only reason he acted average was so whenever he became a world leader everyone would prefer an average man instead of someone who skipped five to twelve grades.

Ryan Carter, age 12

His parents' friends called him a demon child, and kids at his middle school called him sociopathic. Of course they would, alexithymia intelligent people are always considered sociopathic or different by society. The best world leader would’ve been an alexithymia genius, it just made sense. Who else would be willing to make the sacrifices that you would need for the progression of humanity?

Everyone who isn’t the king is a pawn, some pawns are better than others and have fancy names, but they are still pawns and after all the end always justifies the means. That was why Ryan loved the idea of kamikaze pilots, they were pawns who were sent by another pawn who was sent by a king to sacrifice themselves. It was the perfect reflection of Ryan’s ideals, pawns who sacrifice themselves to get the end goal the king wants.
