Asian territories: Japan

When the Incursion happened, it could be argued that the Asian continent was most affected. From Ancient Babylonia to the heartlands of mainland China, daemonic rifts tore open and ravaged the land and its inhabitants. The CCP’s cultural revolutions led to a weakening of faith in China’s Guardian spirits and its myriad gods, leading to its dissolution as 70% of the country was rendered uninhabitable and its capital ravaged beyond recovery. With only Taiwan to pick up the pieces and reform the nation little by little, taking back its lost mainland. Korea saw itself reunified as the North’s forces were snuffed out nearly overnight by the rifts that opened along the Chinese/Korean borders.

India fared better than most. Its myriad gods protect its people from the worst of the daemonic hordes, and its people proving their martial powers once again with the weapons of their ancestors.

Australia was left relatively untouched, the wildlife having an unexplained ability to repel common strength daemons, though it’s joked that the emus waged a crusade against anything in their territory.

Japan proved to be an interesting case. Officially, it never had a severe rift open on its land, but it seemed to be the most prone to Spontaneous Daemon Manifestations (SDM). Its myriad gods and spirits sheltering the inhabitants, but its people rely mostly on their martial traditions and the ability of the followers of said gods to channel their energies to repel the day-to-day daemonic incursions. The JSDF relying on their tech and assistance from the Vatican supplied anti-daemon ammunition to repel the higher rate of level 8 and above daemons as they seem to encroach on the Japanese mainland from all sides. Due to the danger of travel and diplomatic friction between the Japanese government and the Vatican reaching the point of borderline trade sanctions on the island nation, Japan has to rely on itself for the most part and pay obscenely marked-up imports as the nation refused to model itself off Vatican traditions and subjugate its gods under the will of the Angels, or rather; the current Pope.

Hunter presence in the nation is near non-existent, with many refusing to be posted there; seeing it an economic valley of death to any but the most well-off hunters, and even then there were more respectable positions available.
