I've been trying to keep my chapter list clean, but now that we're past Manaseared's halfway point (in theory) I thought it would be interesting to do what I had planned to do ages ago: a narrated chapter. I haven't done anything like this since college, yet still I've always imagined myself narrating my own audiobooks. I'm a bit out of practice--but hopefully you don't find the speaking too fast or mind the tones of my AC too much (they only last the first two minutes!).
It took a while to decide which chapter to go with. The freeing of Lord Arqa and the arena at Sam'al were both tempting options, but I wanted something with both Eris and Rook, and I thought simple and short would work well as a test run. With these considerations in mind, and given recent relationship developments, I decided to go with Year One, Late Spring: The Road.
If you encounter this story on Amazon, note that it's taken without permission from the author. Report it.
So with all that out of the way, here's a link to the soundcloud recording of that chapter, narrated by me. If nothing else I hope it's a fun throwback to simpler times.

I'm doing this mostly as a fun experiment, but if you're interested in more, let me know--I might go back and make recordings for the most significant chapters if I can find the time.
By the way, I probably won't do another post like this, so while I'm here I want to mention that you can find my blog at www.theplayeristhething.com. I mostly do games criticism--and some other stuff--but if you're interested in my fiction I'm currently engaged in a Thing a Week project, in which I upload a new short story every Sunday. I'm almost done with that now, and you can find the vast library of stories here: https://theplayeristhething.com/thing-a-week/.
As ever, thanks for reading--and (now) listening!
