Magus Gravity - Prologue
I spun the sharpened pencil around my index finger whilst also focusing on my teacher’s lectures, that I don’t even need to know. It’s about world history and how our country aided the creation of the world we currently have today, a crap world where everyone inhales dangerous chemicals into their lungs even after being told not to. I have already learned all this stuff from the library that everyone has access to but decides not to, as it would waste their precious “socialising” time. However, not everyone is like that as some people are unique like that guy over there.
That guy I like to call Mr Annoying, is one of the unique people on my list that I need to be careful with. At the start of our six years in high school he did not have many friends and he was desperate to have some, so he got around the wrong group and always wanted attention in almost every class. He acted stupid when he definitely wasn’t, and got excluded countless times until now. His life turned upside down, or maybe he just decided to drop the facade and do what he truly wants.
What I mean by “unique” is people with extraordinary growth and ability to gain insight into life, is what I would say, but it is probably not to do with insight but maturity or the intelligent increase in brain power. So Mr Annoying was annoying for four years until he stopped and became the student president, joined every single club in the school that was possible and became the most envied in school by all the boys and girls. Now let’s not go into how his intelligence increased over the four years, since it would be too monstrous for a high school student. We can just say somewhere in between those four years he might have found his destiny or received some sort of breakthrough in what I like to call “clever gains”.
Clever gains is similar to role playing games in how you level up, but it is more realistic and something you can use to calculate the strengths of people in real life. It works by first checking out the current growth of the person and then slowly breaking it down into two main columns: intelligence and stupidity. You place a tally mark for everything stupid that the person makes under “stupidity” and do the same for the “intelligence”. By the way, this is talking about after having observed the person for a long period of time and knowing what that person thinks as stupid and smart.
For example: I needed to sharpen my pencil but I forgot my sharpener at home. In my opinion, the answer would be to just take a different pencil from your bag, but remember that not everyone shares the same opinion or circumstances. Another person, like that delinquent at the back of the class that is chewing bubble gum with a smug look on his face, would probably not even care if the pencil is blunt or not, he might not even have bought a sharpener at all.
While I was telling you about people who have different thoughts, that delinquent made eye contact with me and instantly stopped chewing and looked away. I don’t really know why people do that, they kind of avoid me as if I am their worst nightmare which is probably one of the reasons I have no friends at all, but I am not unhappy. I prefer to keep my shoulders weightless and would prefer not to carry around extra luggage that would slow me down in my path to happiness, which is utter nonsense and I know it but you need to set a goal in life otherwise you are just running on the spot.

I nudged my rubber off my table and it landed next to a brown-haired-freckled-girl, she noticed it and bent down to pick it up. I turned my head to my paper and got to work, to make it seem like I am doing my work and not noticed the rubber fall down. She wiggled her head left to right before looking at the rubber in her hands, a smirk fell upon her face, the rubber was then placed into her pocket with a light tap.
This would be definitely classed under intelligence, but I have set a different tab for her: “Corruption” and I made a tally mark next to the fifty four other ones. Corruption meaning bad behaviour of a person who has a position to be an example to others, a student should act clean and sensibly while following most of the world rules. Corruption is mostly made by people getting bribed into doing other things, but it is also made from making bad decisions over and over again. Maybe that rubber you just put into your pocket may seem like not such a big deal and something you could dismiss, but when you have fifty violations adding up to something, that is when it is a really big deal. It’s like trading five bronze cards for a silver card, it's something good and much better than what you had previously, this can be put into vice-versa to calculate how bad you are becoming. A gold card exchanged for five silver cards, exchanged for twenty-five bronze cards, it’s just rubbish in the end.
She would be classed as a unique person too, and not someone I would try to contact or befriend. From the start of school to now, she must have tallied up almost five thousand of “noble” marks, but for the past two years now all she has done is petty crime and is honestly going down the route of a criminal.
So as I think about her being a future crook, the whole room turns bright blue and everything disappears in a blinding flash. I don’t really know if everything actually disappeared since it might have been an effect of what you would get after being flashbanged in the face, or when you turn your phone on at night and it’s glaring at full brightness straight in your eyes. Basically I am thinking that I might have been flashed and temporarily won’t see correctly and not have full visibility.
I also couldn’t hear anything after that blue covered the room, and the only thing I hear right now is my little brain chirping away at getting a calculation or a hypothesis on what happened. I might have fallen asleep due to two days of sleep deprivation or I might have pressed some pressure points to paralyse my whole head, but I would be able to move my lower body and fe...I probably am moving my lower body but can’t feel it since my brain is paralysed too, but then these conclusions wouldn’t be able to be conjured.
I think it is time to hit the panic button right about now.
