[An entry to anyone]
Dear Dairy,
I wonder if The Abomination could, if his reign could have been satisfied by any queen. I doubt it, but any princess in her right mind would take the chance. They might have to live in fear of marriage to monster, but I would do it. I have heard that his humanoid form is quite gentle on the eyes. That as long as you stay away from his sword, he might not even kill you. I want to have that chance to be the one that tames him. My parents would not bat an eye as their loss of me to him, I assume they’d be grateful that they do not need to deal with me anymore. I feel like a bird in a cage, I’m praying that that cat takes me. I’m a princess (of matchless beauty) in a tower praying to marry the dragon the knights and nations fear. So, they may fear me as well. That would do me well, that title. The Abominations Dragon bride. I enjoy the way it rings, as well as I will enjoy their terror of him.
Elliot awoke to a knife to him neck, and cold metal barrel to him temple.
“Hey Li.” He said with his eye still closed.
“You didn’t do anything while I slept did you?”
‘Admired your dazzling beauty is all,’ Elliot thought to himself chuckling. He heard the cambering of a bullet, as the barrel pushed harder. He opened one eye, peaking. Linea sat on his chest; her weapons drawn on him.
“I did not do anything Li there’s no need to get up in arms” Elliot chucked at seeing this assassin so jumpy.
“Good. If you had kissed, I’d have been very upset” Linea stated blushing. Uncocking the blunderbuss.
“Many women would jump at the chance Li”, Elliot laughed. Linea punching his arm. But right before the fist made contact a golden mist took form like the sleave of a robe of golden satin-silk on his arm. Her fist phased punching the ground instead.
“What the hell!” Linea shouted in surprise. Elliot was as surprised as her, the mist had activated and he did not direct it to at all.
“Hit me again Li.”. She thrusted another fist this time for his chest, as once again the golden mist formed a chest piece Ephod over his chest. “Again!” Elliot excitedly said. This time Linea tossed a punch toward his face as a shroud of golden metal caused a similar phasing appearance to Linea fist, as it was redirected in space.
This text was taken from Royal Road. Help the author by reading the original version there.
“You have an ability, Elliot!” Linea screeched, ‘Now you’ll be safe’ she thought to herself.
Elliot and Linea continued to test Elliot’s new power. Her invisibility was not enough. There was a time that she was able to get past it, but once her knife slid past the mist, and slightly nick his skin, it healed over, and his body was not cut again even if she used the same techniques to get past it.
Later that night once she was asleep he opened the Weirding Scroll and read over it until he passed out. It was an arduous task, his mind was working hard to retain in one pass and the text itself seemed to have for lack of better word, weird effects on his Magick flow. It did not flow it started to become stagnant. Until he felt that second heart I his chest pass back. It was as though it went somewhere else, it was as though he though it had always been there. A part of him that he lacked understanding of. But that conflicted with his memories. This seconded Heart had not always been there. The Weirding Scrolls spoke of inconsistent consistencies, realities that laid beyond themselves. Constants. Maybe his second heart and mana stream had be come one these, Constants? There but not. Already; but not yet.
The more notable effect that he noticed over the month of Blood Moon and this training with Linea, was that his body was doing much better. He noticed once that he had stopped breathing, but he felt no detrimental effects, he got used to meditating in front of Linea. He had simply been shaken once when she had been fearful that he was dead because she had not seen him breath in a very long time. He had been motionless. He was very much not dead, he had never felt so alive. He enjoyed it, he had never felt too close to The Elder. He had gone to the church under the pretense to his parents that he wanted hang out with kids his age. This moment had been a time in which some of the teachings of The Elder, in his grief, pain, confusion. Reading the Weirding Scrolls given to him by the terror-inducing angelic being help him be at peace, and want to act and do more. His training was hard, and long, but it was sweet with his company.
“Take this!” Linea threw two knives, but Elliot heard three. He caught two of them before his hit his chest. But he felt a shifting in the Golden robed behind him and his hand were full and he could not move fast enough to stop it. Bit he wanted move so bad. So, when he did, Linea was filled with shock. She had thrown three knives, one cloaked in refracted light. She though she would succeed in hitting him, but right before it hit, Elliot’s form was cloaked in the golden mist phased half a step to the left dodging the invisible knife. Elliot fell to his knee exhausted.
“You’re doing very well at containing your abilities”
“Says the one that can use her powers for day straight without end”
“You process magick in a way that rivals my own”
“I highly doubt that Lili”
“You just use your magick too quickly, it like you dump out the pond to fill a glass of water. The glass ends up full but the cup is still empty. You have to be careful doing that, if you channel too much magick the effect will be detrimental and you’ll end up dead.” Linea said looking at Elliot. Her gaze had softened to him, her demeanor different. She could not shake herself from it.
