While the priest does not expect any payment for his hospitality as he let them rest inside the church out of his own good will,

most travelers pay up anyway as thanks when they earn some money.

To use magic, one needs to learn the spells from their respective attributes "Archives".

And you have to chant to activate the spell, but there are also those that don't need to chant.

Apparently, chanting helps you control the magical energy inside your body while activating the spell.

So chants are used to help out in this process as it's easy to construct a magic circle

if the image we have inside our mind is crystal clear.

There also exist spells that require so many magic circles that it's impossible for a single person to construct it alone.

Ceremony magic falls into this category.

Others can't use it like that, so they first need to absorb the magical energy in the surroundings into themselves

and then convert it with their attribute into "mana".

There also exist something like a negative/corrupted magical energy that only Demons and a few ma.beast species use.

Some tribes from a Devil race also use it, but there aren't many.

This is because it's a really dangerous magical energy that can harm and corrupt any living thing,

I'm suprised that father Killian managed to get something amazing as this crystal from dwarfs,

since they hate most humans, especialy those that are affiliated with any religious organisation like the church.

It does sound like a useless trick used for entertaining,

but you can use this to also create magic circles that require an attribute you don't have.

It does take a lot of concentration and time to even create an simple magic circle,

so this is only usable when you want to create something like that father Killian's "cooler".

so it would be impossible for me to create it if I didn't have a [Water] affinity.]

Creating an Ice magic circle require 2 magic circles intertwined together. Wind and Water.

And to make a "cooler", you need another magic circle in which you place a soul core witch will act like a battery.

Quite an interesting trick.

What we talked about was the usefulness of affinities to the people that have only one or no attributes at all.

Devil's race and I have it easy because we can use magical energy even without an attribute, but others are different...

But what does affinity means to an "eater" ?

Eaters absorbe ma.beasts soul cores to gain properties of that ma.beast and also gain the ability to transform.

Absorbing two soul cores of those ma.beasts will result in their properties fusing together

and creating the basic transformation.

And when we say ma.beasts properties, we mean their abilities and... their attributes.

This is the reason why more and more magicians and wizards are becoming "eaters", to gain more and more attributes.

However, because most ma.beast have only one or two attributes, by the time they finish their basic transformation,

they could gain around three to four new attributes. And that is if they are lucky, if not only two.

Add to that that you may already have some of those attribute in the first place,

it's really hard finding ma.beasts that have completely different attributes than you.

Appraisal is a rare skill and appraisal crystal are not only expensive,

but those that have them ask a bizarrely big price for a status check.

The only reason it's free in our village is because of the king...

Because of this, there are a lot of people that have no idea what their attribute is,

so they play a guess game. Knowing what you're attribute and affinity are is really a cheat.
