An Unexpected Arrival

Boy: "What the-"

Aiden jolts awake, realizing he's hurtling through a swirling portal. He'd always yearned for excitement and adventure, but never imagined it would take such a dramatic form.

He knew that he was falling, about at the same time it felt that he wasn't. As he nears the end of the vortex, a dazzling light envelopes him. He catches a fleeting glimpse of the world he's entering before crashing into the ground with a thud. Dazed, Aiden lies there for a moment before regaining his senses. Bewildered by his sudden displacement, Aiden takes a moment to survey his surroundings. The landscape appeared to be a mixture of ancient architecture and enchanting nature, with towering trees. There were waterfalls with the water cascading over the edges of crystal-like cliffs, creating a mist that fills the air with a refreshing, cool sensation. The sky was with vibrant colors, swirling like an ever-changing painting.

There islands in the sky, entire cities up there. All around him there was something magical.

Aiden: "Yes! I've finally been isekai'd to another world! I knew all those prayers would pay off."

Aiden dusts off his shirt and shorts and begins to venture off into the unknown world. As he walks, he takes in the enchanting sights of this strange new world. While exploring the area, he spots a structure in the distance and excitedly runs towards it. As he gets closer, he realizes that it's a ruined house.

Aiden: "Don't worry, this is probably just a abandon wizard fort and I can probably pick up some good loot here." He thinks to himself.

It isn't even a moment after he thinks this that a stray beam strikes where he was going to take his first step.

Aiden: "Shit!"

Aiden stumbles backward, falling on his back. Looking up, he sees a dragon engaged in fierce battle with a lone sorcerer. He quickly takes cover, observing the intense fight from a safe distance.

Aiden: "What the hell? This action could've waiting until I after I learned some magic."

Aiden watches the intense battle between the dragon and the sorcerer from behind a large boulder. The dragon, massive in size and adorned with razor-sharp scales, shoots a powerful blast of fire at the sorcerer. The sorcerer, clad in a dark, tattered cloak, swiftly raises his hands and mutters an incantation. In response, the flames turn an icy blue and morph into an array of razor-sharp spikes, which hurtle back towards the dragon.

However, the dragon effortlessly counters the sorcerer's attack, exhaling another torrent of fire to melt the icy spikes into harmless vapor. Aiden's eyes widen in awe as he watches the battle unfold, his heart pounding in his chest.

Undeterred, the sorcerer leaps into the air, his cloak billowing behind him as he hovers above the ground. He points a finger at the dragon, launching a barrage of lightning bolts from his fingertips. The dragon roars in pain as the bolts strike, but quickly recovers and snaps its massive jaws at the sorcerer. In an impressive display of agility, the sorcerer narrowly evades the dragon's bite and slams his hand on the ground.

Aiden feels the ground tremble beneath him as the earth beneath the dragon turns into a thick, black sludge. The dragon's massive legs sink into the mire, immobilizing the furious beast. The sorcerer then raises both hands to the sky, summoning a whirlwind that surrounds the dragon, lifting it out of the sludge and hurling it into the air.

Aiden can't help but marvel at the sorcerer's incredible power and resourcefulness. However, the dragon proves to be a formidable foe. With a furious flap of its massive wings, the dragon breaks free from the whirlwind and hovers in mid-air, its eyes locked on the sorcerer. It unleashes a deafening roar, sending waves of terror through Aiden's spine. The enraged dragon breathes fire in every direction, sending debris flying towards Aiden.

Aiden: "Oh shit"

Aiden bolts away from the chaotic scene, his heart pounding in his chest. As he races towards what he hopes is safety, a massive chunk of debris crashes down right behind him, causing the ground to shake violently. The force of the shockwave propels him forward, and he loses his footing, tumbling into a nearby hole in the ground.

Aiden lets out a piercing scream as he falls, but just as he's about to hit the bottom, a giant fluffy pillow appears in front of him, cushioning his fall. He looks up to see the sorcerer standing next to him, a look of concern on his face.

Sorcerer: "You must be the one I summoned."

Aiden: "Thanks for saving me, but you could've summoned me when you weren't fighting a dragon, you know? And a soft landing would've been nice."

Before the sorcerer has the chance to respond, the dragon finds the and begins to fly towards them. The Sorcerer waves his hand and the fluffy pillow being to accelerate. The fluffy pillow ascends from out of the hole and into the open sky.

Aiden: "So, uh, why is that dragon chasing us, I mean, you?"

Sorcerer: "Because it's trying to kill me, obviously. Look, I summoned you because I need your help to defeat that thing."

Aiden takes one look back at the dragon. It was massive, with huge claws and four pairs of wings. Its mouth was filled with teeth as sharp as blades.

Aiden: "You expect me to help you defeat THAT? I don't even know any magic! What could I possibly do against that monster?"

Sorcerer: "Well, of course, I'm going to teach you magic. But I didn't mean you should fight it right now. We need a strategy first."

Aiden: "A strategy? Like, what? Do we offer it a giant toothbrush to clean those massive teeth? Maybe it's just got really bad dental pain and that's why it's so angry."

Sorcerer: "Very funny, but no. We'll devise a plan once you've learned some magic. Trust me, you'll be more capable than you think."

Aiden: "Well, I sure hope so because right now, I feel about as useful as a screen door on a submarine."

Sorcerer: (confused) "A submarine? Never mind that. Just have faith in yourself, kid. We'll figure this out together."

The dragon charges directly at them, sending them both crashing to the ground. Aiden manages to hold onto the pillow and wraps himself in it. As the dragon dives headfirst toward the sorcerer, he quickly casts a spell just before they collide. A massive explosion erupts, obliterating everything within a 20-mile radius. Aiden hits the ground with a thud, the pillow cushioning his fall.

Emerging from the pillow, Aiden sees a vast crater in the ground, much larger than the one he had fallen into earlier. Approaching the edge, he finds the dragon and the sorcerer both lying defeated, with the sorcerer seemingly more injured than the dragon.

Aiden: "Oh no."

Aiden makes his way down to the sorcerer and kneels beside him.

Aiden: "Please don't be dead. I don't want to be left alone when this dragon wakes up, and I still don't know any magic yet."

The sorcerer regains consciousness, coughing up blood. His face is covered in cuts and bruises.

Sorcerer: "Listen, kid, I don't think I'm going to make it out of here alive."

Aiden: "I hope you can. I need someone to teach me magic."

The sorcerer takes two items out of his pocket: a letter and a round magical device.

Sorcerer: "Listen, use this device. It will take you where you need to go. You'll be transported to a large house. Knock on the door and give the person this letter. They'll help you."

Aiden: "How do I use this thing?"

Sorcerer: "Rub it three times."

Aiden: "Really? No magic incantations or anything like that?"

The dragon begins to stir, and it stares straight at Aiden and the sorcerer.

Sorcerer: "Hurry, there isn't much time."

Aiden: "But are you sure I just need to rub it three times? That's it? No secret words or special gestures?"

The dragon starts to get up and lumber towards them, opening its mouth as flames slowly emerge.

Sorcerer, gritting his teeth: "YES, just rub it three times! What do you want, a formal invitation?!"

Aiden: "Well, I just thought there'd be something more to it, you know? Seems kinda bland."

The dragon is now closing in, its fiery breath intensifying.

Sorcerer, shouting: "KID, GET OUT OF HERE!"

Aiden feels the heat of the dragon's breath on his back as he rubs the device frantically. Suddenly, he's engulfed in a bright light and feels himself being pulled through space and time.

The Sorcerer smiles as Aiden teleports, knowing that his mission will at least be okay for some time.

When he opens his eyes, he finds himself standing in the middle of a bustling city, surrounded by strange creatures of all shapes and sizes.

Looking around, Aiden notices a large house in front of him. As he approaches, he can hear the windows rattling and the plants chattering to each other. He overhears a heated argument between two plants, one muscular with a blue cap and the other scrawny with a red cap.

Blue cap plant: "...because Rose is definitely the most attractive plant in the gard-"

Aiden: "Um, Hello? I was sent here by a sorcerer and I need to speak to whoever owns this house."

The plants stop their argument and turn their attention to Aiden, scrutinizing him from top to bottom.

Red cap plant: "Hmm, I don't know if we can trust this guy."

Blue cap plant: "Relax, Manfred. The sorcerer's note did say to expect someone."

Aiden: "How do you guys know about the note the sorcerer gave me?"

Blue cap planet: "Magic dumbass. We use it everyday.

Aiden frowns.

Aiden: "You don't have to say all that. I'm new to this."

Red cap plant: "New to what? Being summoned by sorcerers? Fighting dragons?"

Aiden: "Well, yeah. Both, actually."

The plants exchange a look before leading Aiden to the large house. As they approach, the windows start shuffling about and the plants begin speaking to each other in hushed tones.

Aiden can't help but feel a little uneasy.

Aiden: "What are they saying?"

Blue cap plant: "Don't worry about it, kid. Just follow us."

As they continue to walk, the two plants begin to talk to each other.

Red cap plant: "Do you think he's really the one the sorcerer sent?"

Blue cap plant: "Like I said before, the note did say to expect someone. We should take him to the boss."

Aiden can't help but feel like he's being interrogated by these talking plants.

Aiden: "I'm right here guys."

Red cap plant: "We know. We're just making sure you're the right person."

They finally reach the large house.

Red cap plant: "Okay, so the boss is kind of weird, but he's harmless. Just don't mention anything about his sweatpants."

Blue cap plant: "Or his hair. He's sensitive about his hair."

Aiden: "Got it, no sweatpants or hair. What about his shoes?"

Red cap plant: "Just stay away from the shoes, man."

As they reach the door, the red cap plant nods and knocks.

Blue cap plant: "You boss, you got someone here for you."

The door immediately opens. There standing at the door was a tall man in a red robe with blue sweatpants on.

Man: "Can I help you?"

Aiden: "Hi there. So, I was just running from a dragon and some weird sorcerer dude pulled me through a portal and gave me this note to give to you. He said you can help me."

Aiden hands the note to the man.

Man: "Let me see that." He reads the note and raises an eyebrow. "So, you're the person he pulled through the other world, huh?"

Aiden nods. "Yeah, that's me."

Man: "Come on in, kid. I have a lot to explain to you."

Aiden enters the house, embarking on his journey into this new world.
