Luck Beyond Infinity
Foe? Or Friend?

Foe? Or Friend?

After Ember fell for me, she spent the entire day clinging to me, but I didn't make any moves in response to her affection.

Later that day, as Atlas, Ember, and I walked home, Atlas remained wary and kept his distance from Ember, who seemed infatuated with me. I sensed someone following us but chose to ignore it, confident that my infinite luck would ward off any potential harm. The follower appeared more like a curious observer than a threat, so I allowed them to trail me.

Eventually, Atlas bid us goodbye and headed to his own home. When we reached Ember's home, there was an ice cream stall nearby, and I bought some ice cream for both of us. The stall owner gave me a sticker with a fire logo as a gift, which I put in my pocket. Ember left soon after, but the observer continued to shadow me until I reached my apartment, where they lingered outside.

Moments later, the observer rang my doorbell. I was puzzled by his behavior; if he wanted to talk, why had he been spying on me? Nevertheless, I invited him in when he requested to speak with me.

"We need to talk," he stated in a chilly tone once inside.

"Okay," I replied, gesturing for him to continue.

"What's your name?" he inquired.

"I'm Zane Bliss," I responded.

"Zane Bliss, I am Scythe Nightshade," he introduced himself cryptically.

"What brings you here?" I asked, intrigued by his mysterious agenda.

"To be nice.". He replied. "Eh! it is rude to spy on someone not nice.". In my mind.

"By the way, what is your Personal Maximum Magic?," he asked.

"And why do you need to know that?" I pressed further.

"So I can make a strategic—" He halted mid-sentence, realizing his slip, and quickly changed his approach. "J-just to know each other well.".

Suspicious of his intentions, I discreetly took that fire logo sticker from my pocket and placed it on my backhand, suggesting that my Personal Maximum Magic was "Fiery Doom."

"What's yours?" I probed.

"Leviteon," he replied, revealing his ability to levitate objects but I was suspicious of him cuz he looked like a very cautious person.

With this newfound information, I began to unravel the mystery behind Scythe's motives and his unique magical prowess.
