I woke up to the beautiful hustle and bustle of city life. I sighed in contentment, enjoyed the fact that I lived through anotherday. No world ending apocalypse yet.
Who was I kidding? I was stressed. I was forced to woke up early every morning, which was something I had not done in years, to take care of the princess every little need, like her breakfast, her morning cartoon show, her daily walk in the park, her pet dog shitting all over the place. This was driving me crazy. Where the hell did she find the puppy?
My only time off was when I was in school. Oh, the irony. I wanted to offload her to my uncle, you know? The moment I even had that thought though, I was struck by lightning. How the fuck was that even possible? It once again reminded me I had a living, breathing Goddess in the room.
Did you know who her father was?
"They call him Great Emperor of All Creation, Shenma da Vincent, first of his name, the strongest god in the multiverse. My aunt is the Great Empress of Destruction, Sandra Vincent, she can delete anything with a thought, gods, planets, universes, anything." That was what she said.
Who was she?
Nami Vincent, youngest princess of the Supreme Celestial Empire (I swore I heard holy music everytime I said that name), the Goddess of Water, Caretaker of the River of Soul.
Now you saw my problem? I used to deal with mutants, superhero wannabes, gangs, politicians. Those I can handle. Literal Gods? This joke wasn't funny man.
"Uncle, uncle Nyar. I want to go to this place." Demanded the little disaster, pointing at the TV screen. I gasped in horror. I saw the umistakable landmark, the famous tilting tower of Pizza.
"Time to apply for days off I guess." I sighed heavily, regreting to have used up my quota of allowable holiday. This will cut into my grade. Not much but I will have to study extra hard to even pass now. Had I ever told you I hate studying?
Now, how can I explain my impromptu trip to Y country to my parents?
---
Hey, I can teleport now. Well, technically I had a personal Goddess who can teleport anywhere with any form of liquid, which meant absolutely everywhere. If there wasn't, she can create water from air moisture remotely then teleported there. The moment I said yes and here we were, right under the Pizza Tower. Luckily, my power made the tourists ignored the duo appearing out of nowhere.
Consequently, I didn't need to explain anything as long as I came home to sleep at night. My worries solved, I had a blast exploring all over Y country, although I had a minor to look after. Most of the time, the Goddess was very well behaved and quiet. Only her pure curiosity and happiness in simple things overflew from her facial expression.
All was good and enjoyable until we reached an small rural village somewhere in Y country. The moment we arrived, I smelt the tangy, metalic odor of blood, losts of blood and burning things. I can even sense the ozone and electric current wafting through my skin. A lightning Elementals, a very powerful one at that.

I knew the kid ( I pretty sure she was countless time older than me) could handle herself but I still told her to go back home first. She complied.
I made my way into the small village, no more than 50 households. The place used to had that European rural feel to it. Now the serene beauty was burried beneath piles of burning rubble. Ashen bodies littered the street. Anger, like never before raged inside me, the feeling so foreign I did not recognise it at first.
Mutants, the world was no longer unfamiliar with the anomaly within humanity. They had existed since ancient time. While they mosly kept to themselves, battling each others, they were largely involved in the world. The moment that fragile peace was broken, chaos will break out, wars will follow. And this piece of shit right here had just ignited the fuel. I was no hero, I had my fair share of the underside brutality in the short years I decided to exposed myself to that part. This, I can tell, was wantonly massacre, something I cannot tolerate.
As I walked through the ruined settlement, I felt currents accumulate above. I didn't bother to dodge. No more limitter, no more mercy.
The strike passed through me harmlessly, becaused I willed it so. My power was lucid dream, this world was my dream.
I saw him now. An old thing from time long gone, bone and skin was all what left of him. Mutants had long live expectancy, the stronger they were the longer they can live.
Lightning pressed down restlessly, not able to singed even a hair of mine.
He was strong, and looked that old, must mean he had lived for thousands of years. Yes, I could recognise him now, in the archive of powerful mutants. Zeus himself in the flesh. However, he was old. In his prime, maybe he can forcefully destroy my dream domain. Not anymore.
I had met real Gods. I had felt what supreme power feel like. He did not have that feeling.
I put aside my iddle thought. Focus wholeheartedly on makimg him suffer the despair these innocent lives had gone through. This will not be quick.
I ordered him to stop, and he did. He spoke something. I did not need to hear a dead man word. I imagined Hell, and inferno ablazed. I wanted pain, and he screamed. I summomed nightmares, and my world delivered. I needed him to stay alive, so death temporarily lent me his life.
Time flew by like a gentle breeze. When I came out of my trance, it was already dark. The King of the Gods laid at my feet, begging incoherently, body and mind broken. I did not give him the gift of death.
I took out my phone, and called Marcus. The Werebeast will make sure he lived. This will be the message to the rest of them.
I was tired. But it was not time to rest yet. I could feel it, the sliver of life under all this tragedy.
I made my way north, to a little tree house at the outskirt. A tiny girl at the physical age of my own little overlord, the pitiful creature had nothing left beside horror and the emotional scar that will never heal. The bastard made sure of that.
I was no hero, but I was no monster either. I reached out my hand, using my power to induce a feeling of calmness and safety. Although my head hurt something fierce, a direct result of overusing my power, my body felt like it had gone through a wood shredder, my mind a whirling of pain and wrath. It was all worth it to watch the little life form fell asleep in my arms.
"Hello Nami." I smiled bitterly. The loli Goddess did not answer, taking her time looking around at the destruction. It seemed like for a moment the truth of the world obeyed her, intended to right this wrong. Then she shook her head.
"Why? You could bring everything back." I acused her, illogical anger briefly overwhelmed me.
"Karma will not allow it, if not here then it will be somewhere else, somewhere without you to put a stop to it." She answered. I looked into her navy blue eyes, seeing no malice, no deception, serene like a calm ocean. Her gaze then shifted to the child in my arms.
"She was alive because you were here. The least I can do is to escort them back to the river of soul." She gestured to the carnage.
She started to sing, a wordless melody that went beyond mortal understanding. Dots of light floated to the heaven. An endless rainbow river took them in. Her hum resounded through out heaven and earth, trying her best to erase the sadness in the world. For a moment there, it worked.
