Glimpses of the Past, Part 1

Glimpses of the Past, Part 1

Setting: Hospital

Benn (in thought): A month had passed since I remembered my parents. When Amy found out she was simply ecstatic about it. When I had told Dr. Brown, he was surprised, said that most amnesiac patients took months to remember even a sliver of their past. During the next couple of weeks both Amy and Doctor Brown would try to help me remember, sadly nothing helped. The person who tried the hardest was Amy. At least it wasn’t all bad because when she wasn’t trying to help me remember, she would always ask about my family which was helpful.Thankfully, Doctor Brown said that I would be able to leave today.

*Outside the hospital building*

*Benn and Amy in front of the doors with Doctor Brown*

Doctor Brown: Well a month has passed since you have been admitted and your wounds have healed rather well. Now remember, you don’t want to stress yourself too much trying to remember things, and if you need help with anything, please don’t hesitate to call the hospital.

Benn: Yes, of course Doctor. And thank you for helping me with my recovery.

Amy: Come on, Benn. Hurry up. *While pulling on his arm*

Benn: Right, yeah. Sorry Doc, Amy is planning on showing me around to get a grasp of where I used to live.

Doctor Brown: Right, well I’ll leave you two to it. Pleasure having you.

Benn: Yeah. Again, thank you Doctor.*While being pulled away* I’ll make sure to call you if anything comes up! *towards Amy* Ok ok , slow down, don’t you remember? I was just in the hospital *rushes to catch up to Amy*

Amy: No, you just got OUT of the hospital. And I promised to show you around, remember?

Benn:  Yeah, but I don’t see the rush in getting out of the hospital so quickly. I still had to finish talking to the Doctor.

Amy:  What, so he could continue psychoanalyzing you? I don’t think so.

Benn:  What are you talking about? He simply wanted to see if I was ok, he wasn’t trying to psychoanalyze me. Whatever that means. Anyways weren’t you going to show me around?

Amy:  Yes and that is exactly what I am going to do as soon as I figure out where we are first.

Benn:  Great, not even my kidnapper knows where we’re going *Amy slaps him on the shoulder, Benn feigns getting hurt* Ow! Well, it’s true.

If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the violation.

Amy: I know where we are, just have to turn right…Here!

Benn: Oh really? As if what you’re looking for is right around the….*scene of large shopping center*… corner. Umm… wow. That is a very big shopping center.

Amy: Ha, now who can’t find her way around town? Come on! *pulls on Benn’s arm once again*

Benn: Right, just remember I don’t have a wallet.

Amy: As if that’s going to stop me from asking you to buy me stuff.

Benn (in thought) * while a montage of them going to different places in the center* I have to find a way to thank Amy for being there for me since I've woken up, as well as for helping me with the empty spaces in my memory.

(in a coffee shop)

Amy: One mocha, and one normal black coffee.(goes to table where Benn is)I never understood why you liked plain black coffee.

Benn: I probably grew used to it. I honestly don't remember *Amy looks down, sad* hey *reaches over and touches her hand* it's ok. My memory will come back soon, probably.

Amy:I know, but i can't help feeling bad since i wasn't there when it hap-wait what do you mean by probably?

Been: Well you know, not a lot of people with amnesia get all of their whole memory back. some patients usually only get half or just a portion of their memory back.

Amy: Well, you better hope to God that you get all your memories back, or I will hurt you for not remembering me.

Benn: Ok ok, I will try my best to get all my memories back, but no promises.

Amy: Alright, as long as we understand each other.

*an hour later, Benn and Amy are in Benn’s apartment building making their way to his apartment*

Benn: So, what’s my apartment number again?

Amy: 135, good thing I have a spare key

Benn: Yeah, rather convenient really

Amy: You had actually given it to me a day before your accident

*outside of door with number 135*

Amy: *gives Benn key* Here, I think you should have the honors of opening your apartment

Benn: *looks at the key and Amy multiple times*

Amy: Well, hurry up. I’m practically freezing out here

Benn: Right *puts key into door and opens the door*.....ow *falls out of consciousness onto floor of apartment*
