Collision of Hearts

Collision of Hearts

As Alicia saw Wilson, she immediately stepped away from Jeff, forcing a smile.

“Wi… Wilson,” she stammered, her smile wavering.

Wilson glanced at Jeff and sneered. “What is this thing doing here?” His gaze shifted to the white bag Jeff held, and he smirked. “Did he even buy you a gift?”

“No! No, Wilson,” Alicia replied quickly. Her voice trembled as she continued, “It’s not what you think.”

Hearing Alicia—who had been cold to him a moment ago—now stuttering nervously in front of Wilson, Jeff scoffed.

“What’s he doing here with you? I could see you two cozying up as I walked in,” Wilson chuckled darkly. “Do you think I’m a fool? You think I’m stupid enough to believe he’s just a friend?”

“Wilson, I swear, nothing like that happened. And it never will. Trust me. I would never… do this to you.” Shaking her head, she moved closer to him. “I’m sorry.”

But as she reached out, Wilson shoved her hands away, pushing her to the floor.

“Don’t you dare touch me with your filthy hands, you bitch!” he spat.

Alicia’s pained gasp echoed through the room, cutting through Jeff’s restraint. Before he knew it, he had grabbed Wilson by the collar, slamming him against the wall.

“Is this how you treat her, you coward?” Jeff roared, slamming Wilson against the wall once more.

“You!” Wilson choked out, struggling against Jeff’s grip.

“Let him go, Jeff!” Alicia yelled, prying Jeff’s hands from Wilson’s collar. She then turned to Jeff and slapped him across the face. “I told you to get out! Now, get OUT!” she shouted.

Jeff clenched his fists, his muscles tensing as he fought to control his emotions. His gaze, filled with hurt and frustration, met Alicia’s as she pointed to the open door.

“Get out of my house!” She swung the door open, her arm outstretched.

Jeff hesitated, rooted to the spot, as Alicia continued to glare at him.

“It seems he doesn’t want to leave,” Wilson sneered. “Well, since he’s your boyfriend, I’ll leave. Don’t bother calling or texting me, Alicia. It’s over between us.” He shot a glare at Jeff before storming out.

“Wilson! Wilson!” Alicia called, running after him.

“Don’t touch me, I told you!” Wilson snapped, striding toward his car.

“No, Wilson! You can’t just break up like this!” she cried, running to the front of his car, desperate to stop him.

Wilson climbed into his car and, without a backward glance, started the engine, shifted gears, and pressed down hard on the accelerator, speeding directly toward Alicia. Jeff, standing by the open door, dashed outside and pulled her back just as the car whizzed past. But in that split-second escape, one of the tyres clipped her foot, leaving a deep, bloody gash.

Blood poured from the wound, and Alicia’s face turned pale, frozen in shock. Panting, Jeff held her steady, his heart pounding.

"Are you alright?" he asked urgently, his gaze scanning her from head to toe. When his eyes landed on the deep cut on her ankle, his face darkened as he glanced in the direction Wilson had driven off. But as he looked back at Alicia’s pale, stunned face, his anger shifted to pure worry.

“Are you alright, Alicia?” he repeated, worried she might lose enough blood to fall unconscious. “I need to get you to the hospital now!” he said urgently.

“I… I’ll be fine,” Alicia whispered, barely able to find her voice.

“No,” Jeff insisted. He scooped her up in his arms, carrying her toward his car. “This is serious,” he murmured as he opened the car door, gently seating her inside. Pulling a long handkerchief from his pocket, he quickly wrapped it around her wound to staunch the bleeding.

Alicia, still too stunned to speak, could only watch Jeff in silence.
