Jason looked at Theos, “A world just for me? I barely know who I am. Yet I get a world just for myself?” Theos chuckled, “It is a world inhabited by many, it has many problems, some of which can never be solved. Yet we both know you are a man of action.” Theos had many of the battles flash across the projection that showed dragons, undead, demons, and other unhappy monsters.
Jason simply smiled and nodded. Looking back at the name, he smiled and a name came to him, he didn’t know how but he recalled it. Pavio, he laughed because it seemed like the right thing to do. After he did that it asked him what race he wanted to be, naturally he chose to be a human. His hair color and eyes just like his own. Black hair, though dark brown was closer, brown eyes and he just adjusted his looks to look like a younger him. Made his hair longer like in his youth, though not a looker he was considered nice looking. Made himself six feet tall and an average build.
Choosing a job was more difficult, he loved many professions. He couldn’t decide between a samurai, inventor, or warrior. “At first you only get one job, at a later point you can unlock a secondary one.” He nodded and firmly selected Samurai. A warrior he felt should follow honor and be an example to others, even if not all were that way. He turned to Theos waiting for what was next.
Theos walked over and waved his hand above the orb. It changed to two different weapons. One was a standard katana and wakizashi, the other was naginata with a yumi. Jason looked and he selected the swords. Theos nodded switching it over to a map. It zoomed in on a small town on eastern side showing many standard buildings with a familiar far eastern setting. “You are about to begin your journey, is there anything else you might like to discuss.”
Jason turned to Theos, “I remember very little but I feel drawn to this place. I know my name, what I look like, and I feel excitement for what is coming. Yet I feel sadness in me for not recalling more.” Feeling a hand clasp his shoulders Jason looked up. “You will recall more as time goes on, that is all I am allowed to tell you about yourself. Just know it will be okay, you will recall a great many things, just don't stop moving forward. Now as for where you are going.”
They turned to looked at the projection, “it is a place with many things. You can find love, you can gain power and respect. It may be a world that others see as not real but it can be. Just believe in it. Good things can happen, but so can bad things. You are the first, you are unique to this world. When you wake up you'll find one gift from me.”
Theos waved his hands and Jason covered his eyes the next thing he knew he was looking at himself in a mirror held by Theos. He was no longer Jason, he was Pavio the Samurai. He felt a hand slap his head then he was falling while looking up as Theos shrank. The last thing he heard Theos say, “good luck, may everything come to you as we hope.”

The lab door burst open as the man matched up to the screens. Everyone else in the room froze, not sure how to act once the boss was back. They were trying to figure out results for him when he was gone but not much was noticeable. “So why did he go comatose?” A woman spoke up, “He still had minimal brain activity, his vitals are stable. Beyond that we have no idea why he flat lined briefly, then went comatose.” He sighed, “so we are still exactly where we were before.” She nodded head then turned around to go sit at her desk.
A rather nerdy looking man came up to drag him away. In a hushed tone, “Gabriel, we will find out what went wrong. You just have to keep a clear based.” Gabriel turned to the nerdy man, “I know Xander, I know. It just is very important to figure this out before they arrive. Because if they arrive and we have no clear explanation it will fuel the fire. This is the best chance, yet everything went wrong when nothing should of.” Xander and Gabriel turned back to the group. “Okay, top to bottom. We are going to watch everything, check everything again. We need to see what happened and when it happened. Nothing goes unchecked. We need to find out what is wrong.”
Gabriel walked to the window on the other side of the room. As he looked through the glass to the motionless outline all he could feel is despair. We will figure out what happened to you.

Pavio opened his eyes and saw a prompt. Congratulations on being the first adventurer. As such you get a gift of a God. Jewel of Theos: Apply to one piece of equipment to receive bonuses. Make Soul bound and indestructible. Weapon – makes it so can learn enemy skill for weapon type. Armor/Accessory – gives ability to learn and retain three skills from items. Can be replaced as time goes on for new skills. Must be used before starting adventure. Pavio wondered what kind of skills are available, barely getting started and first big decision already. Figuring it will be harder to learn weapon skills because not all enemies will use his he chose to use on his armor. Only to decide what piece to use it on.
He looked at everything he had on, it was a standard set of yoroi that was made of leather. A dou for his chest, kote for his hands, and the haidate and suneate took up the leg slot. He was also stuck with tsuranki on his feet which was better than wooden sandals. All the other under armour was under the rest so it wasn't uncomfortable. After viewing everything he wasn't sure if the gift would change the appearance and he looked how he looked. So he decided to use it on his note. He took the jewel and placed it on them to have a flash of light happen with a new prompt appear.
Congratulations you acquired Kote of Theos. Kote of Theos: Indestructible. Glamour available. Soul-bound. Skill 1: None. Skill 2: None. Skill 3: None. Not impressive quite yet but if it can hold some skills it will be useful in the future, with the prompts gone Pavio’s field of vision was clear. He was in what he assumed the central of town. Next to a lily blossom tree. He felt both his swords on his left hip. He nodded and noticed a small circular map in his bottom right of vision. Right above it showed a small golden cross. He nodded, thinking of checking it and it popped up. Starter quest: Find the Inn and inquire about problems in town. He selected it and noticed an arrow on the mini map. It was only beginning but he couldn’t wait to get started the only thing missing were his usual party mates. Oh well, this was a journey just for him after all.
