‘Urrrg what happened why do I feel so strange? What happened to me?’ Tenchi thought sitting up in bed his body ached and shaky. It was almost like it wasn’t used to moving.
‘Oh, aah, what’s going on how long was I out for?’ He wondered, as he looked around the room confused. It didn’t look like any room he recognized, and everything looked strangely large to him. He tried to get out of bed only to fall to the floor with a thud.
‘Ouch ok, that hurt.’ He winced trying to get to his feet. Only to find that his legs were shaky underneath him. Only after a few tries did he finally manage to get to his feet. But he only managed to take a step or two before losing his balance and again hitting the floor.
‘Ouch ok, I’m not getting anywhere any time soon.’ He thought as he lay there panting from the effort of trying to walk.
As he tried to get up again the door to the room opened and a very shocked man walked in with a large stick in his hand. As he did, Tenchi struggled to try and get away, only able to do little more than crawl away. The man quickly tossed the stick aside and crouched down.
“Oh, I’m sorry I didn’t mean to scare you, sweetie. I heard the noises, and I didn’t know you had finally woken up look I. I’m not going to hurt you I promise.” The man said like he was trying to comfort a scared animal holding out his hand in an offering.
Tenchi continued to crawl backward tell he was under the bed unfortunately for him, his strength was quickly fading. He still wasn’t used to moving around like this and was quickly getting worn out. The man didn’t follow him instead he just watched with worry clear on his face. Yet it wasn’t long before Tenchi exhaustion got the better of him and he passed out from exhaustion.
When he woke up again after a few hours he was in a large basket laying on a nest of blankets. He still felt weak and tired. So, he did the only thing he could think of and just curled up and tried to hide in the blankets.
“Mom!!! She’s awake again!” An eight year old girl shouted running over to the basket.
“Calm down Kitten you’re going to end up scaring her.” The girl’s mother said stirring a pot on the stove.
“Huh, but why would she be scared of me?” The young girl asked.
“She doesn't know any better. Sweetie, she’s like that fawn you found hiding in the barn. She’s scared and young and doesn’t know that you don’t want to hurt her.” The mother said simply. As she said that Tenchi's stomach gave off a loud growl.
“And not surprising she’s hungry you and your father are both bottomless pits so of course she’d be one too. Come and get her a bowl of oatmeal and see if you can tempt her out with food like you did the fawn.” The mother said spooning oatmeal into a wooden bowl before handing it to her daughter. Who brought it to Tenchi.
“Come on Clover you need to eat.” She said offering the oatmeal to Tenchi who she had for some reason referred to as Clover. Clover stayed hidden in his blanket till the daughter got an idea.
“Look it's food.” The daughter said eating some before offering Clover a spoonful.
“Come on try it it's good.”
He took the spoon in his mouth, his eyes lighted up both figuratively and literally in delight. He then lunged grabbing the bowl and spoon shoveling the food into his mouth quickly emptying the bowl. After a few seconds’ pause he handed it back as his stomach again growled but this time a lot louder making the mother laugh.
“She must be hungry I remember how ravenous you were when you were younger. Come on come get her another.” The mother said as the door slammed open.
“I’m back!” The man said in a booming cheerful voice.
Startling clover who let out an almost silent. “EEEP!!!” That sounded more like the squeak of a mouse.
Clover tried to get away only to tip the large basket over on top of himself. This didn’t stop him though as he continued to try and get away.
Only for the basket to scuttle a few feet before hitting a table leg. Causing a large stack of books to fall off the table burying the basket.
The girl burst out laughing so hard she nearly wet herself. “She squeaks like a mouse then scuttles off like a crabling.” The daughter cackled on the floor.
As her mother gave her husband an annoyed glare. He just looked confused. That was till he noticed his wife’s expression.
“Um, what just happened aaannnd what did I do wrong?” He added when his wife’s expression didn’t change.
“Clover woke up and was starting to at least calm down. Then you storm in startling her half to death and to quote your daughter startled her into acting like a scared crabbling. Now Cat stop that cackling and help your sister she’s least scared of you so go helper.” She said still frowning at her husband.
“Aww ok mom.” She said before starting to dig the basket out of the pile of books. She slowly lifted the basket to peek in at Clover. Who gave her an annoyed glair as her stomach growled loudly? Cat put the basket back down.
“She doesn’t want to come out, but she really wants more to eat. Her stomach sounds like an angry dragon.” This got a smile out of their mother.
“Fine come get some more for her.” She said spooning some more oatmeal into a bowl.
Clover ate two hole pots before finally coming out from under the basket but regardless she stayed close to Cat. Tenchi, now going by Clover, was still trying to figure out what was going on. He, er she was in a young girl’s body in a place she didn’t recognize and with people she didn’t know and what was worse her memory was all blurry. She could remember things and facts but faces, names and dates escaped her. Along with his memory of the day he died but at this point, he had just decided to play along and hope something would explain what happened.
“Ok, Cat take Clover out back clean her up and dress her. We need to get her ready to go visit the Father.” The mother ordered as she started to clean up.
“Ok, mom.” Cat said before taking Clover's hand and leading her outside. The first thing she noticed was it was cold. Second was just how primitive everything was the surrounding farms and nearby town all looked medieval. The last was the lack of a sun, instead high above the clouds there was a massive cave sealing studded with large glowing crystals.
“Oh yeah, I guess this is your first time seeing the cavern, isn’t it. Well welcome to Gails cavern.” Cat said as Clover looked around in all directions. There was nothing but mountains and what Clover assumed was the cavern wall in all directions. Though she couldn’t be sure as they were just too far off to see clearly. After a minute Cat took Clover’s hand and led her over to a fence and inside to a small well. Cat got a bucket of water from the well and started to clean Clover's hands and face with a rag. Clover didn’t enjoy this the water was freezing and Cat was way too rough. However, she had yet to speak, and she wasn’t sure she wanted to yet. Though she still tried to make her distress known in the form of small distress noises this didn’t stop Cat. Who just held Clover in place as she cleaned her up.
“Ok, there you're done now, and here I thought I hated bath time.” Cat teased Clover before letting her go. Cat then took Clover’s hand and led her over to a barn where the father was unloading a cart that was being pulled by a yack like creature that had small forward facing horns.
“Hay sweety mind taking these to the kindling box in the house?” The father asked as he handed off a bundle of sticks to Cat.
“Ok, Dad.” She said taking the bundle of sticks and walking off.
“Hay! Stop! Look out run away bull!” Someone yelled as the Bull a large cross between a bovine and a yack with two big under slung horns like an elephant. Came charging down the path the bull had broken the fence and was heading right towards Cat who was too scared to move. Clover saw a flash of a speeding truck as her body filled with energy making it glow blue. She shot forward leaving behind a small crater.

‘I’m not going to make it! I need to move now! Clover thought about to shoot herself forward with another step.
[requirements met. A skill on the technomancer skill tree has been unlocked: Lane Jump. Lane Jump converts the user’s body to energy. It can be used to pass through computer networks or power cables. Can also be used as a short range teleport.]
This time instead of blasting forward Clover's body vanished into a blue energy ball that shot forward like a bullet out of a gun. Unprepared for this she shot right past Cat before transforming back to human form spinning around to try again. It was then she noticed that Cat's mother was running up the path. Even if she saved Cat her mother would be next.
‘I’ve got to stop that thing but how it’s so big?! Fuck it! It may be big but I’m strong!’
[Requirements met. A skill on the Titan skill tree has been unlocked. Titans Body allows the user to grow larger and stronger at the cost of a large amount of mp that increases the larger the user grows.]
Clover started to grow right before using her Lane Jump to jump in front of the bull. By the time she landed, she was twice her size and thankfully her simple dress had grown with her. She planted her heels and grabbed the bull's horns. Her strength and size battling with that of the bulls she finally managed to stop it less than a foot away from Cat. She was now four times her size and still growing. She grit her teeth as her long black hair suddenly turned a fiery red, and her brown eyes turned emerald green. She turned throwing the bull into her new family's fence she stood there panting for half a second before exploding into a poof of steam. As she fell to the ground, she spotted Cat who was staring down at her. Clover gave her a small smile before passing out.
A short time later Clover came to in a wagon wrapped in blankets and back in her basket. She had to admit she was starting to like it and was about to curl up and go back to sleep when a loud voice said. “She's awake!!”
Before Cat could pull her out of her basket Clover responded with small annoyed sounds and feeble struggling. Without any of her skills active Clover was a lot weaker than Cat who forced Clover into her lap
“Cat go easy on her I don’t know where that power came from but she's clearly drained. Hear see if you can’t get her to drink this.” He said, handing her a quirked test tube of a dark blue liquid. Cat uncorked the vile and put it to Clover's lips who reluctantly took a swallow of it.
It was vilely sweet to the point it made her teeth ache and had a bitter coppery metallic taste. It was thick with small chunks like sugar crystals floating within. Clover had forced herself to swallow it as it was by far the worst thing, she had ever forced down her throat she gagged coughing and sticking out her now blue tung having to stop herself just before swearing. She still didn’t want to play that card just yet though she had to admit she was starting to like Cat even if Cat was currently holding her like a doll she just wanted to go back to sleep. Unfortunately, whatever she had just drank was keeping her awake. It wasn’t energizing like sugar or caffeine, but she felt her energy returning though she still felt so weak. It was so strange she could feel this powerful energy in her, but her body felt physically weak not to mention she was still not used to being she or being so small. Sleep felt so tempting she closed her eyes and managed to rest though true sleep never came. A few minutes later the wagon came to a stop clover blinked fully awake now, still in Cat's arms who was now petting her like her namesake. Clover made an annoyed sound as she tried to wiggle free. She felt odd she wasn’t sure how long she had rested but they were no longer near the village, in fact, the only building was a large stone church and grape farm all the buildings were made of large grey stones.
“Kitten help Clover back into the basket I don’t want her walking around tell we get her looked over, especially after that stunt with the bull.” He said as she tied their own bull to a hitching post. Clover crawled into her basket as soon as Cat let her go. Cat’s dad picked up the basket and carried Clover into the church. It was a large quiet and dark building with large stained glass windows each depicting several symbols, one glowing slightly brighter as Clover's back felt warmer.
Cat and her father bowed in front of a shrine and saying. “May the gods bless us and thank you for answering our prayers.”
Before continuing on, the warmth on Clover’s back grew and her eyes glowed a faint gold glow as this was happening her fatigue started to rapidly fade.
Cat and her father knocked on the door of the residence of the clergyman.
“Father Irwin are you in there we have someone who needs a look over and a small surprise.”
“Oh, really well then give me a moment and I’ll let you in.” Father Irwin said followed by a loud clatter smash and sigh before he finally opened the door.
“Ah, what can I do for you author? Ah mind the mess you caught me in the middle of making potions and I knocked over a jar. At least it only had Barry’s in it so just watch your step.” Father Irwin said ushering them in.
“I have great news Father the gods truly have blessed us this day Clover has finally awakened from her slumber” Cat's father apparently named Arthur said gesturing for Clover to step forward. Instead, she continued to cling to Cat but still drawing the attention of Father Irwin who looked at her in shock.
“By the gods blessing.” Father Irwin gasped in shock spotting clover.
“Why hello little one I'm very surprised to see you but very happy you are joining us today. This is clearly a blessing by the gods and may they continue to bless us and show us mercy.” Father Irwin said before picking Clover up something she really didn't appreciate she was wearing a very simple one piece dress that went down below her knees and nothing else they could have at least given her some underwear. Not thinking, she tried to demand he put her down but all that came out was a stifled noise that slightly hurt her throat. It was then she realized she couldn't speak earlier, she hadn't spoken because she was worried but now, she realized she physically couldn't. She guessed it made sense The body she was in had apparently been comatose for years. No, she guessed that meant she had been in a coma for years and if that wasn't a worrying thought. She shook her head to try and focus herself, she couldn't afford to get distracted right now though that seemed not to be an issue anymore. Her reaction to being picked up had clued the pasture in enough to get him to understand that she did not like being held and he quickly set her back down. As soon as she was free, she hid behind Cat again. Why was it out of everyone she had met was it that only the mother and the daughter had seemed to have any sense.

“So, I take it you're here for the cleansing and blessing ceremonies?” Father Irwin asked Cat's father.
“Yes, but we also like you to perform the skill ceremony as well. On our way over here, a bull broke free and nearly trampled over Cat and Azalea. Clover seemed to teleport for lack of a better word in front of it. Then stopped it with sheer strength alone while growing to nearly the size of the beast. She then threw it into our paddock.” Cat's father said awkwardly the Father Irwin just seemed to blink for a second before saying.
“Ar-are you sure? She's only just awakened even if by some miracle she does have access to her mana without performing a ritual or training She shouldn't know how to use it. I mean it's impressive that she has even learned how to walk in such a short amount of time.”
“Trust me I wouldn't believe it either if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes. You can even ask Pickerel, he saw it as well heck it was his bull that escaped.” Cat’s father said wearily.
“Relax Arthur, I believe you I just, it's a bit hard to swallow. You have no need to convince me to perform the ceremony, I would do it if you asked. So, we'll see regardless whether or not she can do what you say once the ceremony is over.” The pastor said placatingly before pausing and adding.
“That being said I know they say magic can run in the family. I have never met a mage as talented as you, and your wife is no slouch with a bow or a spell either. It could simply be her talent is greater than we suspect.”
“You think?…. Well, if it is then it is the most impressive inherited potential I've ever seen, and I was abducted to the capital's academy and even there I’ve never seen anything like that.” Arthur said with a nervous chuckle.
“Well then probably best we know what we're dealing with then I'll begin the skill ceremony at once. The cleansing will take some time to prep if you're willing to wait I can do it in a few hours. As for the blessing I'm afraid it's hard to get the needed materials this time of year. As such I've already planned to do three others at the end of the month for the Harvest, and the Catherine's twins. I don't think they'll mind including Clover as well, but I'll make sure to check with them first.” Father Irwin said distracted his mind occupied with the logistics of what he needed to do.
"Alright." Arthur said, trying to wrap his mind around his daughter's situation.
Meanwhile, Clover just listened in confusion as they were chatting about ceremony academy's kingdoms, and Cat wasn't making it any easier to follow along. As Cat kept hugging her, if that wasn't enough her back was hot and itchy and was starting to get really uncomfortable as she watched them mix some strange ink like concoction.
"That should just about do it Arthur could you it's always the hardest part for me." Father Irwin grumbled gesturing at a bowl of a, oil and ink like liquid? Arthur placed a hand on each side of the bowl before muttering something that sounded like latten. Causing the bowl to light up turning the contents of the bowl into a pitch black liquid that paradoxically gave off a golden glow. Father Irwin proceeded to dip a cloth parchment into the liquid that seemed to absorb it turning pitch black.
"Okay cat bring Clover hear so we can perform the ceremony in fact would you mind helping us by keeping her calm?" Arthur asked as Father Irwin set out a blanket on another table. Arthur then picked up both Clover and Cat, setting them on the table with a grunt.
"I'll leave undressing her to you Cat." Arthur said as he helped the father set up.
While Clover wasn’t sure what exactly was going on, but she really didn’t like the idea of being undressed and tried to make her distress known as Cat pulled off her dress. Though the best she could get out was a faint horse squeak that made her throat hurt to go above a whisper. It actually kind of worried her even if her body wasn't used to moving around her strength had been returning quickly enough but it hadn't hurt like this. A squeak had done the same as if she had shouted herself hoarse and without that weird rush she had gotten when she had faced the bull, she was too weak to resist Cat. Cat removed her dress, forced her face down and covered her lower half with a blanket.
"Just hold still this won't hurt or anything. It might be a bit uncomfortable, but it won't take long, best just get it done." Cat sooth managing to get Lilly to stop. Though she continued to pout mostly because she wouldn't let her go even after she stopped struggling.
"Ok, you two can turn around now. She's as descant as she can get" Cat said still holding my arms down at least she had covered my lower half with a blanket.
"All right then." Father Irwin said as he came over holding up a now black piece of parchment. Before applying it to Clover’s back the moment it made contact with her skin there was a light charge and mild stinging sensation. Clover let out you small shocked squeak and started to struggle again however as she did Father Irwin was already in the process of removing it from her back. Her back was getting hotter and more uncomfortable.
“By the gods.” Father Irwin gasped as a golden emblem of a shield with wings folded over the shield with a sword running down the middle blossomed over Clover’s back. Clover did it notice any of this as all she knew was her back itched and burned like a mild sunburn. While not extremely uncomfortable or painful she still didn't like it and struggled to try and make them stop. To her surprise, however, their grips let go of her as she scuttled back. Clover quickly wrapped herself in the blanket to try and use the heavy wool blanket to scratch the itch on her back.
“Arthur did you just see what I think I saw.”
“If you mean the emblem of the goddess of hope being branded onto my daughter’s back? Yes, I saw that. That explains what happened earlier then.” Arthur said his voice wavering in shock while Cat just stared on in amazement.
“Arthur wh-what does the sheet say.” Father Irwin said handing Arthur the sheet of parchment. He wasn’t allowed to look at the parchment as a person’s skills were private. He was already extremely overstepping by just asking.
(Name: Clover race: Human age: 6/? Class’s: Titan. Mage. knight. Mage knight. Technomancer. Skills: Might of the Titans. Holy blessing of the goddess of hope. Athletic. Technical knowledge. Pain killer. Miracle of life. Female subduction. Subduction female. Doctorate->[Sage]. Learned->[Scholar]. Lady killer. Animal magnetism. Locked skill. Titan Strength. Lane Jump. Titans Body)
“Father, are you sure you prepared the ingredients properly? Because this doesn't make a lick of sense.” Arthur said, handing the list to Father Irwin.
“How, she even has evolved skills? That doesn't make sense, she's not only so young but she's been comatose for years? Well, I guess this does explain how she was able to figure out how to walk and function so quickly.” Father Irwin said in shock. Clover hid behind Cat she didn't like where this conversation was going.
However, before anyone could really start to worry about what was going on there was a loud slam from the front door being thrown open. Followed by a man calling for Father Irwin. Irwin and Arthur rushed out to see what was wrong. Clover quickly grabbed her dress and put it back on before following after them as fast as her little legs would carry. Finding Arthur, Father Irwin, and an unknown man standing over a girl laid out on the table. Clover wasn't sure what it was but something in her drew her to the girl. Unfortunately, she was currently too small to get up on the table. So, she walked over to Arthur and gave a small tug on his pants before pointing up on the table, it took her pointing three more times for him to finally get the reason. He picked her up and sat her down on the table where she was drawn to a small point in her abdomen. She ran her hand across it and the moment she placed her finger at one certain spot the girl let out a horrified scream of pain. However, before anyone could stop her, she used lane jump, and to the horror of everyone a small toothed wormlike creature was dropped onto the floor in front of them screeching. Painkiller activated soothing the girl's pain as she felt for another over the next ten minutes, she had pulled out another twelve parasites before.
[Requirements met. A skill on the technomancer skill tree has been unlocked: Diagnostic lv 1 allows the user to analyze a target for useful information or issues.]
Clover blinked twice and her vision changed. There was a faint overlay over her vision the woman had a blue outline that slowly traveled down her body highlighting her health issues. She had another three parasites and something else it was still trying to figure out. She looked at the others, startling them with her glowing eyes, except for Cat who was amazed. Both Father Irwin and Arthur had elevated stress levels, but she frowned seeing three of the parasites in the man. Clover pointed at him and gestured for him to come over. This seemed to freak him out, so she pouted and gestured again but more forcefully for him to come over. When again he didn't come, she glared at him until Cat's father Arthur gave him a light shove.
“Go on boy if she needs you for something it's likely going to help.” Finally getting him to approach her. The moment she poked him and removed one of the parasites his face turned pitch white in shock and fear but after that he did whatever Clover wanted. In order to help her quickly remove the remaining two before returning to her work. After removing the last parasite, from the woman she turned her attention to the anomaly it took diagnostic nearly three minutes to figure out what it was due to its low level. It was not what Clover was expecting.
[Fertilized embryo progress 8%]
This made Clover turn back to look at the man and then back at the girl. The glow of Diagnostic leaving her eyes as she tried to figure out how to relay her newest discovery. The whole being mute thing was starting to get really annoying. While she was pondering this the woman finally started to wake up. This had less to do with what Clover had done and more that she had recovered naturally. Without the parasites in her body, she'd be fine in a day or two with a few good meals.
“Oh, did I nod off?” She groaned as she started to come too.
“Not quite Mary, it seems you weren't feeling too well and took a seat and Connor here couldn't wake you back up. So, he brought you to the church for healing and it appears his timing couldn't have been better for he stumbled upon a small miracle in progress. May I introduce your little savior this is Clover Arthur's sleeping daughter.” Father Irwin said gesturing to Clover who found herself suddenly feeling very bashful when she realized all the eyes in the room were on her. In her moment of weakness and discomfort just gave a small wave before looking down at the table.
“Um thank you Clover but can someone explain to me what happened a bit more clearly?” Mary asked in mild confusion.
“Well….You see Clover woke up this morning for the first time. We brought her here to have her looked over by the father and to have him perform the ceremony she should have had as a baby we were in the middle of the skills ceremony or rather we just finished it when the sine of the goddess of hope appeared on Clover's back. Then before we could even get her dressed again you showed up, we got you in and were looking you over when she wanted up on the table. I was hesitant to let her up but as soon as I did, she started to pull those things out of both of you.” Arthur said gesturing to the pile of dying parasites.
“What in the underworld are those things?!” She asked in horror.
“We don't know Father Irwin is currently trying to find records of these creatures and see if they have ever bothered the valley before. It's likely Clover will have to inspect almost everywhere in the village if we can't find the source of them. Even then it probably be good to give most people a look over. The thing is I don't think that ability was under her skill tree so she must have unlocked it while treating you. We are going to need a lot more paper and ingredients for this skill ceremony.” Arthur said knowing it take a chunk out of his pocket to get enough ingredients together. Father Irwin was generous but even his generosity can only go so far and that was as far as what he could gather in the local forest. So, he’d likely have to buy the ingredients from the town to get an understanding of what's going on here. However, before he could get too deep down that rabbit hole Cat brought Clover a blanket to warm up in reminding him of another expense he have to deal with. Clover had a few dresses, but all were meant to be basic nightwear warm and comfortable but not meant for moving around much more than a quick trip to the outhouse. Things were going to be tight on his coin purse but he was the town mage if he was hunting for work he could probably find it easy enough. So that probably wasn't too big of a problem he hoped.
“Father Irwin, I want you to gather together the resources to perform the skill ritual multiple times. I'll try and research the skills listed in the few skilled tomes we have but likely we will have to perform the ritual for most if not all of her skill. I only think I recognize a few on that list but other than sage and scholar I'll need to reference all of them if there even in the books we have.” He sighed before noticing the silence in the room. Clover was staring at the woman her eyes glowing again. Whatever skill that was, had most likely saved the girl. He was still not sure how she had done that. Well, no he had a few theories one's that would likely have to wait till Clover learned to speak to get answered. For the time being, Clover's eyes had stopped glowing, and she was now trying to poke Mary in the stomach. No? When Mary had kneeled down to be on her level, she had started to rub her belly that couldn't be good after what it just happened.
“Clover sweetheart is, is there something wrong with Mary's belly?” He wondered just how much she had understood of what he had said.
She gave him a thoughtful look before shaking her head no.
“So, it's not a bad thing then?”
Clover nodded then stopped to ponder. After about a minute she pointed to Arthur, held up one finger cat two and proceeded until she had pointed to everyone excluding herself and Mary she pointed at Mary and held up five she then pointed at Mary's stomach and held up six. Mary paled when she did so.
“Wait there there's something still inside me why didn't you get it out get it out get it out get it out!” Mary said, starting to panic. Father Irwin had to grab her to keep her from hurting herself.
“Wait why didn't you remove it? Could you not remove it?” Arthur asked, wondering if she could even understand him. Though to his surprise she shook her head with a no.
“So, you could remove it, but you chose not to is that correct?” He asked, getting a nod from Clover.
“So, there's something there that's supposed to be there?” He asked only to receive another nod from Clover. Father Irwin perked up in realization at that and looked between Mary and the young gentleman who brought her in.
“Aahh I-I think I understand girls would you mind waiting outside or in one of the rooms in the back. I think me and Arthur are going to have to have a conversation with these two that isn't appropriate for young ears. Even if I'm starting to expect young Clover has at least some idea of what's going on.” Father Irwin said while Cat hugged Clover protectively.
“Did we do something wrong?” Cat asked worriedly.
“No, no, nothing like that sweety it's just something you don't need to know about tell your older. Now go on.” He, said gently, waving them off.
“It’s not fair we don't get to know just because we're younger.” Cat pouted reminding Clover of her younger sister back on earth.
She still wasn't a hundred percent sure what was going on, but she had decided to pretty much roll with it. Her best guess this was some sort of isekai plot. If that was the case well who knows maybe it would be fun, she just wished they had gotten her gender right at least. That was definitely going to take some getting used to.
She sighed and decided to pet Cat to console her. It always helped with his little sister when she was Cat's age so he hoped it would help here. To her surprise, she felt a strange surge of energy between the two not quite like a static shock more like a warm flow. Something was given something was taken but she wasn't quite sure what beyond that. Cat on the other hand just seemed to sigh and leaned into her touch/ practically purring like her namesake. After a few minutes, this just seemed to degrade down to Clover and Cat sitting in a pew while Cat napped using Clover's lap as a pillow while she petted her. This was the position their father found them in a good twenty-forty minutes later. She really needed to find a way to tell time in this world. Oh well, that's just another thing to consider, she really should make a list.
“I was hoping to find you two getting along but I wasn't expecting you to get along this well.” He said with a small chuckle at the adorable site meanwhile Clover started to shake Cat awake.
“…………Clover?.... can you understand what I'm saying?” Arthur asked only slightly surprised when she nodded in confirmation.
“Why don't you reply to questions verbally? Is it just uncomfortable because you're not used to using your voice or is it something else?”
In response, Clover opened her mouth and let out a faint gravelly squeak before breaking out into a coughing fit.
“I know there are potions used to soothe one's voice I'll see if I can't get some and we can try and train up your voice so you can speak freely. If not, we will find some other method for you to communicate with. You've already shown a knack for magic and I know there are a few ways people have figured out how to communicate with magic alone” He said picking her up and patting her on the back thankfully the coughing fit only lasted a few seconds.
Arthur gave her a glass of surprisingly clean water it was even cool not ice cold but colder than the room around them. It was only then she noticed the small crystal at the bottom of the water jug another curiosity she’d have to look into. Though she did try to use her diagnostic skill on it.
[Water stone: A glass stone made from grounded water crystal fragment grounded mana crystal fragment and sand with a purification rune carved into the stone. Function: purifies and cools water in particularly humid environments. It can even condense moisture in the air to create water. Similar effects can occur when forcefully energized with excess mana.]
Clover blinked, she wasn't exactly sure what she was expecting from the spell but certainly wasn't a detailed breakdown of its makeup and uses. Curiously she tried using the spell on Cat getting some rather surprising results.
[Name: Cattail Acacia. Race: human. Age: 8. Class: Child. Skills: Run. Throw. Read. spark of magic. Tamed. Owner: Clover Acacia.]
Clover was absolutely baffled. How the hell was she cat's owner? She had to look into this more. She tried using Diagnostic on Cat’s tamed skill.
[Tamed: A skill given to creatures who have been tamed using some form of magic or skill.]
This explanation only left her with more questions than answers. As far as she knew she hadn't done anything of the such.
‘How the heck was she supposed to fix this’ She wondered, she really needed a manual or at the very least something tangible she could see and work with. Diagnostic just gave her knowledge in her head it was not something tangible she could look at and examine.
[Skill request accepted. Skill requirements not met. Lacking requirement skills. Barrier type skill, and projection generation type skill. Please be more specific with the request or try again when you have the required skills.]
The sudden unexpected interruption had Clover jump causing her to startle Cat.
‘What the hell is that supposed to mean? What does it mean by projection and barrier? Why can't this just be like a video game where I could see a skill tree or something?’
[Multiple skill requests detected skill modification request detected. Checking skill requirements. All requirements met. Multiple skills on the technomancer skill tree have been unlocked. Hologram projection: This skill allows the user to generate holographic projections unlike a basic illusionary skill hologram projection is more complex and life like even at lower levels. To Clover's shock instead of this information just appearing in her head it actually displayed itself on a glowing blue screen in front of her startling cat.
‘OK that happened, but that still doesn't explain how she was supposed to use this.’ She thought before the screen in front of her vanished and a new one appeared.
[Tutorial quest. This is a quest to give you a basic guide on how to use your new skill. Accept Y/N.]
‘Um yes.’
She thought starting to reach out to press the Y button only for the screen to close and a new one to appear before she could touch it.

‘Yes.’ Clover thought and the second box vanished. Before she noticed the other's shocked expressions.
‘Oh so, they can see this too huh.’
She looked down at the screen before she pictured it flipping and enlarging for them to see it and to her surprise, it worked. While they were baffled reading her status screen, she was busy trying to think of how she could use it. One of the first things that came to mind though. She pictured a blank page and a keyboard. She reached out to touch them only to realize she didn't need it. With a wave of her hand, the keyboard vanished, as the blank page moved to be in front of Cat's father. With a thought, she spelled out.
‘Hello’
“I ohh um hey? Well, I guess that helps with your inability to speak for now. Though not everyone around here is literate If we were in a city this would be a lot more useful, but I guess it's better than nothing for now.”
He reached out and to his surprise, he was actually able to grab the faintly blue glowing screen. He flipped it over inspecting it vaguely he could see through it a bit like frosted or blue stained glass. It was solid and didn't flex though it had a slight give to it. He noticed if he poked it with a singular finger, it would make a small plop sound.
‘Can I have that back.’ Appeared on the screen.
“Ohh right sure here.” He said returning the screen to her. Only to realize her status window was gone and the moment she touched the blue screen it vanished as well. Before another appeared.
‘Fast drains mana greater drain when you played with it.’ The screen spelled out before flickering and vanishing.
“I'm guessing you just ran out of mana, didn't you?” He sighed getting a nod from Clover. He had a feeling that this was the first of many many surprising and odd days to come.
