Chapter Ten: MAGIC!

Chapter Ten: MAGIC!

Few days passed. Aarav and Co. got used to life in Sanka. They hadn't lost hope of going back to Earth, but they had no means to.

Sanka village was in a mountain valley. It was beautiful. The trees were tall and in red and yellow as if the fire was burning. The surrounding was coloured in colours of the fall season. The natives were adept in healing magic and hence their occupation of healers. So, they were kind of medieval era doctors but with 90%success meters. It truly will put modern doctors to shame. It doesn't mean that they could wave their hands and voila healed. Their knowledge and understanding of the human body were far superior. Samuel was amazed by this and decided to learn from them. When he asked them to teach him he was outright rejected. He was told he didn't have any aptitude for healing. Further magic was blessed to them by their God Akupara. If he wanted to learn it he would have to born in their tribe or ask the Akupara himself.

Many other tribes could do magic with other elements like earth, water, fire and so on.

Listening to the natives was like listening to a fairy tale. The only difference was that they were in it. So, they had to believe it.

One legend that they couldn't stop repeating was the legend of Simbala. The Creator of Elysium used to live among humans. Humans worshipped him and he ruled over them for thousands of years. Until one day, he went away and never came back. Masses fell into peril as they cannot find its God. They fall to panic, thinking their God abandoned them. They started pilfering, pillaging and lost themselves to the designs of debauchery. In the 2543 Elysium year, Simbala Zimbir, a youth of 18, was roaming around the ruins of the temple of Genesis, where it was believed that God resided. With a curious mind, he went deeper into the temple. The doors which don't open for normal humans opened that day, there he found the secret of the world. He then changed the whole world. He gained immortality. He banished the god that had forsaken them and established a sovereign of just world. He brought magic to the world. He bettered the life of the people. He brought heavenly beings into the world who lives among people, bless them with abilities and help when they need it the most.

After listening to this Kiara thought, "so basically this person eradicate monotheism and introduced a religion with many gods and goddesses".

Aarav had made friends with some youth of the village. Tomo Horo was of the same age as him and as tall as he was. Although his personality was reckless and merciless, he made a good sparring partner. He learnt that most of the guys would go to nearby towns and cities for work. They use Garuda, the condor-like bird, to travel. He could only imagine how fast these birds are. Apart from birds and beasts, another mode of transportation was an airship. It's very fast and convenient and very costly too. This planet only had few airships which were owned by rich landlords from major cities.

Sanka village, no doubt was poorest of the poor. Aarav would feel very ashamed if he asks them to lend him one or two birds.

He decided to hitch a ride and visit this Caito village. He planned to find someone who can help them or learn some magic that could take them back home.

Next day, the village merchant was going to Caito City. Kiara spoke the language of this place. Brandon could read and write in Sumerian. But it would be one too many people for travel. So, he decided to take Kiara with him.

Anyways, Brandon was immersed in reading books in the village library. It was like he found heaven. Brandon was the happiest of them. He had his son here. His rest family doesn't want him. He was recently divorced. His elder son left him and his younger son was with him.

Aadil was never married, he was living a bachelor life and his parents kept pestering him for marriage till they passed away. He had no responsibilities on earth.

Asahi was a prodigy student, his parents had great hopes for him. He too loved his life. He was studying at Stanford University. All he was waiting was a six-figure salaried job.

Suho was on top of his career, his idol band had debuted a few years back, they were doing well. Their life was hectic and stressful. But that was the life of fame. Here their talent was of no use.

Fiona was a free soul. She had been travelling all over the world. It was like an extended vacation for her. Just some places that never were on her travel list.

Samuel had his family with him. All's well as long as they were together. They could never have been happier. It was like a stroke of luck to have come in this very village. Tamara was terminally ill. Back on earth, they were on a vacation that was supposed to be their last family trip together. Coming here opened the door which was shut for them. They had hope that Tamara would make out of her illness. She would be better.

Kiara had her family behind, although she wasn't responsible for anyone or anyone had hoped for her. She loved her family dearly.

And Aarav… If he had come alone, given an option he would stay.
