Chapter 1 beginning

Have you ever thought about what it would be like to live amongst dragons? Well, I have and it’s not exactly what I thought it would be. My family and I once went camping in the forest. But we didn’t know what inhabited that exact forest. I went out to collect wood then I heard my mom say “Juno! Dinners ready!” So I started my way towards the campsite when I suddenly got lost. Then out of nowhere, I hear this loud thump behind me. It was a dragon! Golden scales covered in mud and green eyes, smoking through the nose. I could feel its heat. She was probably taller than an average car. She stood in front of me, smelling me. Then she rushed up and picked me up with her razor-sharp yet gentle talons. “Help! Someone help!” I screamed but it was as if the wind were a sponge, soaking up my voice. The sun was setting and it quickly became dark. “My family must be looking for me,” I thought to myself. But yet some thought inside said, “ I don't think they will find me.” We flew across the forest far off to a majestic land filled with dragons. A stunning view from the dragon's tight yet gentle grasp. Beautiful emerald green shrubs and stunning sky-high cherry blossoms hug the sky. Dragons of every size and color are everywhere. Some were in cabins that were large enough to fit an entire village inside. Some were made of smooth blue-green stone, some made of wood with breathtaking murals all hand drawn. Some were out in fields gathering some sort of plant. It looked like wheat but was a deep maroon color. Then suddenly I heard the sound of a loud and deep horn and we arrived at a cave on the edge of a tall mountain. There were posts on the sides with dragon guards in different colored armor. I assumed it meant to rank. We enter and there we see a dimly lit crystal cave hollowing out the mountain. There were ledges with dragon guards going all around. They watch as we pass into a room where the dragon carrying me lands and puts me on the ground. I quickly look around to find an exit. The door is roughly 6 feet high, clearly designed for only dragons to enter and exit. The opening to the room had spiky crystals lining it which would make my escape a lot harder. There was another dragon in the cave, he stepped into the light. “I see you are checking for an escape. There isn't one, only dragons can enter or exit due to the angle and height of the entrance. Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Lance.” He stood tall in front of me with the other dragon standing behind me with his back towards the exit sitting sternly. “ Don't mind her, she's one of our best guards as you can see. She's highly trained and doesn't let anything or anyone get past her.” She spoke in a thick British accent “Names Adele. Nice to meet your acquaintance officially.” “So do you speak? Do you have a name?” said Lance. “ My name is Juno, and why did you bring me here? My family is probably worried sick, I need to get back. It was lovely meeting you. Now I need a ride back.” Lance said“Woah there slow down. The reason we brought you here is that there's recently been a battle and we heard you have medical experience.” He expands his wing and you can see it's been sliced in the middle and is starting to scar. “ The village doctor could find a solution and the forest critters had told us that you have healed a few of them with equipment far more advanced than what we have.” I think this is a little bit weird since why would they want a 16-year-old girl to help them? Why not ask anyone else? And why under these circumstances in this way? And what battle? Would this start a war or put me or my family in danger? And with whom was this battle?
