I have no idea where I am, I thought to myself. I couldn't remember anything, but I knew I didn't belong here. The world was way too dark and the moon shone green. I looked down and my hands were not my own. They were hard as if covered by a chitinous carapace, which reflected the green light diffusely. The carapace was covered in spikes and only three tentacles extended out of the end of each arm. For some reason there were four of them. I didn't even want to think what the rest of me was like.
Sadly the question was soon answered as two other beings like myself were plodding along the nearby structure. As they noticed me they emitted a wet growling noise and started approaching me. I was horrified, but I was not sure whether I was physically able to show it. The terror left me petrified. As they stood next to me one of them said something to me. I couldn't understand a word or whatever the basic unit of conversation was around these parts. They both stared at me through the 16 large eyes they had between them as if expecting something.

“Hello, my name is Samantha,” I tried, not having any better ideas. Instead of words only slapping and burbling noises came out. I thought I was done for, but the two creatures seemed satisfied with my answer. They addressed me further and I replied with “nice to meet you.” That earned me a puzzled look and a short response. After some more fumbling around and dodging questions the two gave up and moved on. I probably didn't do my reputation any favours in the encounter, but at least I was still alive though as lost as I might possibly be.
The only problem was that I was getting hungry.
