Thrusters off. Ignition killed. Boosters gone.
"Beginning anti gravity thrusters" - Hal spoke
Now its time to sit and wait. The waiting. Thats what I was most scared of. When they were briefing on this mission the only thing I could think was
"Im going to be waiting a long time"
I underestimated just how much waiting was done. Space travel has become remarkably easy, if it wasn't the so poorly named hal machine, that was leading my trip I would be at ease. It feels like yesterday I was being told that I would be the first man to enter a black hole. No one knew what was going to happen. Not even me. We had guesses. There is a 80% chance this will happen. A 60% chance this other thing would. All I was thinking was. There is a 100% chance I will see what no other man has seen before. The selection process for the whole thing was much faster than I would have ever thought. The same day I volunteered was the same day that I got selected and given a briefing on what exactly I was doing. The first thing they talked about was the previous mission to the next galaxy over, The andromeda galaxy, where starcraft commander zane williams went missing after 2015 earth days of travel, It had only been two years for him. No one exactly know what happened to zane. The number one theory being he simply went off course and was lost by mission command. They assured me that neither mine nor zanes intended to be suicide missions. That once I make contact on the other side, another ship will be sent after to me for resupplys and navigation back to earth where ever we were. I didn't believe that. I knew I would be dead by the end of this mission. Just staring at the hole I was slowly moving into was terrifying. Why couldn't they send a camera first, or a drone? Or anything other than me. Maybe they already have. Death wasn't the thing that scared me. It was the unknown. What would happen once I get to the event horizon. What is inside that thing of mysterys unsolved by humans. Maybe I'd see aliens. We've thought to have gotten close and with the transmission in 2122 we all but proved that we are, not alone. But even after all that we still have not meet a new species in the vast solar system. Curiosity was getting to me.

"Hal how long until we enter the even horizon"
"Estimated arrival time 2 days"
The event horizon. Where the fun begins. Where I'll finally see if is there another side.
