CHAPTER 317
Sam sat across from Isabel. "You're saying that you're falsely accused?"
"Yes! I'm innocent!" Isabel sobbed as she spoke, "Madeline is just taking revenge on me because Queenie scolded her last time! Please save me, Sam!"
"Is it?" He looked at her in exhaustion. "Ever since you moved out of the house, I've given you a few million. Where is all the money now?"
"I spent them!" she said as she cried. "I need to spend money on everything since I'm not staying at home anymore. Do you think that a few millions is enough?!"
"The police have checked your withdrawal record," he said. "A while back, you gradually withdrew two million from the bank. Where did you spend that two million?"
"I used it to buy some household items. Where else could I spend it?" she said while crying in grievance. "All of you don't even care how I'm doing out there. I have to spend money on every basic thing in life when I'm living alone outside! Our family has more than a 100 billion worth of fortune, and you just gave me that few million. Do you really think it's enough?"
"Quit quibbling!" Sam said in dissatisfaction. "Do you think everybody else is dumb and you are the only smart one? Do you know that the driver that you hired has been recording your conversations with him on his phone when you made him the deal? Everything that you have said to him is all recorded!"
Hearing that, Isabel was stunned for a moment. After some time, she said in panic, "What are you talking about, Sam? What driver? What deal? I'm innocent! I don't know anything!"
"Up until now, you still don't want to tell me the truth?" He looked at her in disappointment. "The police have a professional device that can identify a person's voice. I've already seen the test report from the police. The voice of the person in the voice record is really you. Do you still want to deny it when there is such solid proof?"
She was so shocked that she could not say anything. Voice record? That b*stard driver secretly recorded us?! That son of a b*tch!
She had given the driver so much money out of generosity, but he actually framed her. What should I do now? Now that they have solid proof, am I really going to jail?
No. No way! I don't want to go to jail. The prison is too scary.
Her mother had turned into a mad woman after just staying in prison for a while.
The prison was such a scary place. Not to mention that she was still young and had a bright future ahead. She could not let the police put her behind bars!
"Save me, Sam!" she said while crying in fear. "I'm really innocent! I don't know how things can turn out this way either. I don't know how Madeline did it, but I'm sure that she's the one framing me! Think of a way, Sam! Get me out of here! I'm still young. I can't be in prison!"
At this moment, Sam looked at her quietly as he did not want to speak to her anymore. She still continued to deny it when there was concrete evidence. Does she think that I'm a fool or that the police are fools? Content is property © .
Seeing that he remained silent, Isabel panicked even more. "Why are you not talking, Sam? Think of a way to get me out of here, quick! I don't want to stay here anymore! Please!"
"I can't get you out." Sam sighed. "Isabel, do you know how serious your offense is? I've talked to the lawyer. You will face a life sentence for what you did. And if that bodyguard dies, you will be given the death penalty."
"What?!" Her eyes widened as she said in a trembling voice, "What did you say? D-Death penalty?"
"That's right. Death penalty," he said. "You have to pay with your life if you take one away. If that Leonard bodyguard dies, you'll need to pay with your life for his. But if he survives, you're still guilty of contract killing. Although it was an attempted murder, you've still caused serious injuries under flagrant circumstances. If the victims hire a good lawyer, they'll make you spend the rest of your life in prison. This will be the end of your life."
Hearing that, Isabel was in complete shock. Death penalty?! Is he really saying that I might be sentenced to death?!
She slumped on the chair, shocked and quivering in fear. I don't want to die yet. I still want to enjoy my life.
She was a young lady of the Taylor Family. With such a noble birth, she had been living a luxurious life for the past 20 years and getting whatever she wanted. Those days were the best part of her life, and she would never forget the euphoria of living in wealth.
A few moments ago, she was still thinking about going back to being the young lady of the Taylor Family and enjoying the wealthy life just like those days once Sam was not angry at her anymore. But
now, Sam was saying that she might be given the death penalty.
No! There's nothing else scarier than death in this world. I don't want to die!
"Save me, Sam. I really am innocent!" She was so terrified that her face was turning pale. Then, she started weeping. "Please get me out of here! I'm your only little sister! Save me, please!"
However, Sam shook his head slowly. "Even until now, you're still not telling the truth. I can't save you like this." He then stood up. "I'll hire the best lawyer for you. There's nothing else I can do other than that."
Seeing him standing up, Isabel looked at him frantically. "Where are you going?"
"Visitation hours are up. I need to leave now," he said.
"No! Don't go!" she cried and said, "You're the eldest son of the Taylor Family. If you're willing to help me, you will surely have a way to get me out! Please, Sam! Please save me! I'm still so young! I don't want to die!"
"I can't save you," he said coldly. "No one can be above the law. Since you went against the law, you should be punished by it. The only thing you can do now is pray for that bodyguard to survive. If he dies, then you'll be paying yours for his life. That's for sure." After he said that, he ignored Isabel and turned around, walking out of the door.
When she saw that he really was leaving, she became anxious at once. "Don't go, Sam! Save me! The driver is the one who hit them. What does it have anything to do with me? Think of a way, Sam. Surely you can get me out of here!"
"Why are you so ridiculous?" He turned to look at her. "It's contract killing. If you never hired the killer, he won't kill in the first place. You're the mastermind, so you'll need to bear the main charges. That driver is just an accomplice!"
"No, no. I'm not the mastermind!" She quickly shook her head. "It's Angie! She asked me to do this. She said that it was all Madeline's fault that I was kicked out of the Taylor Family by Dad. Since Madeline gave birth to two sons for Sebastian, her status rose and she became an important figure in the Hart Family. Dad didn't dare to mess with Madeline and the Hart Family, so he threw me out of the house. If Madeline and the two little b*stards that she gave birth to die, he'll let me go home again!"
Hearing that, Sam frowned and asked, "Angie?"
"Yes, yes!" She nodded forcefully. "I met Angie when I went drinking at a bar one time. She told me that Madeline was the one who made me have no home to go back to. And that after Madeline gave birth to Sebastian's two sons, she turned from rags to riches, making Dad and you to abandon me. Everything will be back to normal if Madeline and her two children die…"
