Fall from grace (1)

Fall from grace (1)

(First Person POV)

Leon Heartfelt. That’s my name and it's been exactly two years since I've been sent to this world. Before coming to this world I was a short, chubby and easily preyed on victim of bullying attending high school. Of course like any other cliche transmigration story I read back on earth I lived a shitty and miserable life unloved by my own parents and unwanted by my peers before being taken by the legendary Truck-kun as I was running away from my bullies.

At that moment I felt really hopeless but also very relieved. Relieved that the misery would end after enduring so much. Or at least I thought so. After being enveloped in a bleak darkness for what felt like centuries I awoke in the body of a ruby-red eyed, raven hair six year old. At first I was blown away by everything that was happening but after my predecessor’s memories were finally linked to my own I was excited. A world filled with Mages, Knights, Demons and Heroes!

A fantasy my past self yearned to live in and truthfully I was really looking forward to it. From what I had gathered, my predecessor was some sort of genius and so everyone had high expectations for him. And no he did not die and what not I simply found my way into his body and devoured his soul it seems.

Though I felt a little guilty I quickly threw away such a useless feeling after learning that my father and mother were both rulers of this country! My father’s name was Regald Heartfelt and my mother’s was Cecilia Heartfelt. With such information at my table I completely reveled in it and lived earnestly as Leon Heartfelt with the days to come.

And just like that, two years went by in a flash and I now had a younger brother on the way and his name was to be Dereck Heartfelt. It was such heartwarming news to everyone in the mansion and even me. Honestly I was so happy. So happy in this life that I couldn't believe that I get to live it so freely.

I had two loving parents who pampered me, a younger brother on the way and servants who revered me as though I was some kind of walking treasure. It felt too good to be true. And indeed, it was.

Today was an especially special day. Today was the day of the Heartfelt Country’s annual Awakening Ceremony. This ceremony was dedicated to youths who at my age, which was considered the ‘ripe age’, would gather at the Heartfelt Country’s Magic Tower to be awakened and evaluated!

What was an awakening? Well it was basically unlocking a person’s path by having the Magic Ball of the Magic Tower read your aptitude and talent to determine your class and affinities. For example if someone were to awaken as a Mage their aptitude would be read on the path of Mana and their affinities would be revealed.

There are several hundreds of classes in this world and a myriad of sub classes as well. Classes were also branched into their own categories such as the Category of Mana, Category of Aura, Category of Armory, Category of Stars and finally the Category of Rune Empowerment.(REM)

The class of a Mage obviously fell into the COM but what about the COAU? Or COARM? Classes that dealt with aura were either Fighter, Barbarian etc. And as for COARM they were Gunslinger, Sniper, Battalion etc. COARM was a special category as both mana and aura could be used to empower the weapons given by the class. However it got stranger when COS and COREM came into the fray.

The COS dealt with classes that commonly drew on the power of the stars to battle and do readings. Though the classes would be named differently they were all dubbed as Seers throughout the world and truthfully this category was extremely rare and so only a handful had the glory of holding this title.

The COREM however was even stranger as this one didn't have much history to it. All that is known is that to this day there has not been a single person that was able to awaken a class from this category. And not much of the classes were given in history books as well. It was as though it was completely erased from the annals of history. But putting that aside there was a bit of information I had skipped out on and that was the ranks of classes. Though classes had their categories it wasn't a means that could specifically measure a class's rarity. That's where the Ranks of classes came into play.

The ranks of classes that are known are: Common, Rare, Epic, Legendary, Mythical and High Mythical.

Throughout history humanity has seen its fair share of Legendary classes, its handful of Mythical classes but never a High Mythical. Though maybe it was at the Primordial Era of humanity they had seen many High Mythicals but this was merely a speculation as there was no recorded history to date that proved these speculations.

But that was enough of history class, it was almost time to head out of the Royal Palace, to the Awakening Ceremony! After my mother finished prepping my suit and combing my messy, wavy raven black hair back it was time to go towards the Magic Tower. Our carriage was long prepared, leading at the front was a large feathered bird called a FeatherBed Owl. I’ve seen it far too many times around the palace yet each time I'm always so amazed by its size and appearance.

It was larger than a bull, yet faster than a cheetah. How? I didn't even know but damn was I curious! Stepping into the large carriage my mother sat beside me whereas the guards that followed along with us took to the steering at the front. And just like that we were off!

Little did I know that I would soon come to regret ever wanting to attend this ceremony.
