Chapter 7: New World V

...........

Strangely or unsurprisingly, the two guards' guard was down as they placed the plastic bag on the floor, ready to place the body on it... However, they didn't get the chance.

Their fate was already set the moment they came within arm's distance from him.

Martial arts is something he's extremely familiar with him from his previous life. Furthermore, he learned quite a lot from the previous host's memories.

Before the two guards could even comprehend what's happened, they found their faces buried in the ground, their conscience slipping out, and their life followed soon after.

Val then stood up and acted quite fast in taking one of the guards' clothes and putting them on.

He then took the other guard's clean light blue jacket and used it to clean his face from the blood of rats he applied beforehand.

He of course didn't forget to take all of the guard's tools and put them on, including a long sword. Val knows that very few normal people have access to ether artifacts, even the lowest tier of them.

Though he did use the sharp sword for something important before putting in its sheat and tying it to his belt.

He used it to quickly shave most of his facial hair, leaving just a thin outline of hair on his pale face that looks fairly normal.

'Blood huh... It's been such a long time, but it never gets any less disgusting. Well, I'll make sure to take a long comfortable bath afterward.'

Val then hastily put the guard's body in the plastic bag and closed it. Then he carried it and walked out of the cell before closing the door.

And so, the first part of his simple plan was a success though he honestly thought he'd have to kill all of the guards that came down to transport the bodies, but it seems that the other pair was quite lucky.

He is thankful for this turn of events because only then can his friendly neighbor's noble sacrifice be worth something.

Val then walked up to the cell right next to his and slightly opened the cell window. What came into view was the skinny face of an old man. His hair was white albeit quite dirty, flowing down his shoulders.

His eyes were blue and seemed strangely lost and dead. From Val's point of view, he appears to be but a shell of what was once a normal person, a mere doll.

Val couldn't help but raise his eyes brows, noticing something interesting about the old man.

'I already thought he's either deaf or mentally broken, but the absence of his ears makes it clear. Furthermore, he also lacks his tongue. Right... This is the kind of world I'm living in from now on.'

"Now I'm wondering whether you're lucky or unlucky. On one hand, your disability allowed you to avoid death, yet on the other hand, perhaps death is a release for you."

Val just shook his head and went on his way with the dead body in the plastic bag on his shoulder. He made sure to tilt the blue guard hat to the front to hide a bit of his face.

The all dark blue uniform of the guards acted as a way to fit in as he walked out of the solitary confinement section, well, one of them.

Once he walked out of a door, he only took a single unnoticeable glance at his surroundings before deeming the way out.

It's his first time truly breaking out of prison, but he did plan similar operations for other people in his previous life.

So, the prison's design isn't so unfamiliar to him, especially since this one isn't so different from the ones he operated on, in fact, he'd say this one is quite sloppily designed.

The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

He walked naturally through the hallways of the prison while looking around from time to time. Suspicious would truly be the farthest word from how he's currently acting.

In fact, he was quite carefree albeit a look of boredom was quite apparent on his face, an expression shared by many of his fellow guards.

He passed by many of the guards and they were surprisingly friendly, as in they paid little to no attention to him.

Perhaps the fact that two other guards transporting another body just passed by them, and just that simple act made them more susceptible to ignoring similar things.

'Truly thank you for your noble sacrifice no matter how unnecessary it was, but well, to each their own.'

Val thought to himself, fully ignoring the absurdity of it.

The prison's design was fairly simplistic so he easily found himself out of the prison building though there is still another barrier laying before him, a high wall standing between him and freedom.

Val however set his sight at something else, within the large space of the prison wall; was a large hole which he walked to.

There he found a few plastic bags that appears to have bodies within. He was sure that his friendly neighbor is in one of them.

'As I promised, thank you for your service, and I hope you like my gift. I helped you meet your family after all... They should be dead, right?'

Val mused to himself as he threw the body on his shoulder to the hole. The guard's body thus joined a different shithole with his fellow neighbors, and the remains of all the others that were long gone, even their bodies were devoured by the hunger of the flames, leaving but a few burn-up bones scattered all around.

Luckily for the two fortunate guards, Val took a bit of time before he started transporting the body, and that was enough for them to throw the body in the hole before getting back to their positions.

What's even luckier is how they didn't even come close to meeting him when getting back to their position, 'Not that I want anything but a peaceful escape, yup, I definitely like peace more than anything else.'

Val suspiciously nodded to himself as he thought of that, then he set his sight upon the beautiful strikingly blue sky, more beautiful than he ever imagined the sky could be.

The sky appeared to be glowing with a blue color that seemed to be constantly changing from lighter shades to darker ones.

The reason for such an anomaly is another thing that appears to be hanging high up in the sky.

Something even more beautiful than the blue sky itself. A glowing blue sun, serenely floating in the middle of space, seemingly, greeting a new visitor with its warmest welcome.

'It's still quite cold though?' Val strangely wondered to himself, as if he can hea... Nevermind.

The coldness was actually quite welcomed by Val as he smiled brightly at the sky, looking as suspicious as one can possibly get.

He then started rubbing his hands together, warming himself up as he walked towards the apparent exit of the prison.

"Yup, it's quite cold, and it's lovely," Val muttered to himself as he put his hands in his jacket pockets, and walked towards the guard that seemed to be reading a newspaper.

That specific guard seems to be the one responsible for guarding the prison gate which was just a small double-sided metallic gate with the only thing stopping anyone from being able to open them; being the metal poll keeping them together.

The guard was responsible for taking that metal poll off in case someone wants to leave or enter, and he can see who can enter through the small glass window to his side.

Val walked up to him with his bored look nowhere to be seen. He then said, "Hi, mind opening the door for me?"

And only then did the guard bother to even give a careful glance at him as he seized him up from top to bottom before shrugging his shoulders and saying, "Open it for yourself,"

Val couldn't help but raise his brows at that as he wondered to himself, 'I'm suspicious you know? Right? And can't he smell my horrible scent? Why so sloppy? Well, whatever, it's not like I'm purposely acting on purpose to annoy someone...'

Val then shrugged his shoulders and walked up to the gate without forgetting to point something out for his fellow guard, after all, they do say that once people share the same uniform, they become friends even in death... Or do they?

"All right, just remember that you'll have to get up and close the gate yourself anyway so.."

The young man then walked out of the prison, setting his first true footsteps in a new world in a carefree manner as if it was but a normal day for him, leaving the guard with his twitching face as he thought to himself, 'Why was he leaving anyway? And is he new? And... Well, whatever.'

Another twitching face was of the other person who got to hear Val's bizarre speech as he wondered to himself in exasperation.

'Has he finally gone insane??? No... What he did before... But... What should I do???! This wasn't how it's supposed to go at all!! He was just supposed to kill three people before I can take him back.

It doesn't matter whether he kills them when escaping from prison or when outside... B-but he only killed two people??? He did technically cause the other one to die right?

He is the reason the other person took his life, right? And why the fuck did he do that? It's like he knows the conditions... That couldn't be the case, right? Most importantly...'

The guard responsible for the gate had absolutely no knowledge that his life was at stake as he lazily walked towards the gate to close it, unaware of the shadowy figure following behind him, barely able to hide his killing intent.

'You just had to do your fucking job and notice his sloppiness, then he would've killed you and I get to fucking go back!! It was like the young master was basically telling you he's suspicious yet!! yet!!! Aghh...'

The guard was truly fortunate, this is an important lesson for the ignorants, it teaches an extremely important lesson.
