On the castle walls sitting at the edge, is a boy with short crimson hair and a droopy gentle expression on his face with hazel eyes. This is Throtand currently thinking about his life and what he is going to do.
(Throtand: It's been three years, in this young body it feels like it's been a long time, but in reality my life hasn't even truly started until I hit six. I haven't hit the royal library yet to learn the history. It'd be weird if a 2 year old started reading even if he was a "genius")
Deciding on what to do for the time being climbed down the wall, and started running to his mom's office. (Author:Guys he's 3 now about the time I would imagine a kid starting to read...at least that was when I did when i got into WoW.)
Knocking on the door he heard his mom tell him to enter.
Queen: What is it Throtand?.(Author: I should clear this up before anyone starts thinking she doesn't love him...I don't really think parents say dear or honey honestly to their kids. I expect more along the lines of my dad calling me booger XD.)
Throtand: Mom can you teach me to read!.
Throtand smiling wide with squinted eyes stared at his mom, He decided in his new life he will love his family like his own. He will never disregard the ones that love him.
The Queen smiles and agrees grabbing a book she sits him on her lap, and starts reading to him the history of the kingdom.
Queen: The Gravitas Kingdom began as refugees fleeing from the war stricken Draconis Kingdom, which was destroyed under the combined might of three other kingdoms. The leader our founder was Julias Gravitas, who true to his name was a man of dignity and seriousness. Becoming a ruler at a young age he guided the people to prosperity.(Author: I know the meaning of Gravitas which is why I chose it, as the name of the royal family to symbolize their manner.)
The Queen continues telling the story of the kingdoms founding in a soothing tone.
Queen: It became a village first, harvesting the crops every season slowly growing into a small settlement. Years went by as Julias grew old, he had children Bardus Gravitas and his Daughter Nina Gravitas. Teaching them all aspects of rulership they grew into fine rulers, Nina married a strong guard Captain and Bardus married a tavern waitress. The humble beginnings of this kingdom are the reason why we royalty are not mocked if we love commoners keep that in mind if you love someone.
His mom says as she winks at him playfully and he blushes, she laughs at his silly expression and continues reading.
Queen: Soon the small village grew into a town, Julias was old and frail at this point and thus gave his children the torch at the age of 60. Truthfully the beginnings of our great kingdom are so humble that some people actually don't believe it. Well I tell you Throtand Gravitas that all of it is true! 2000 years of history has a way of building up, never bring shame to the Gravitas name. Always hold yourself with the dignity your position as prince demands and do not let it go to your head, Uphold the family honor.
Throtand takes her words to heart he holds a great name from an ancient family that has survived the test of time, his name has meaning and he must prove he is worthy of it. A trace of determination crosses his eyes, which the queen sees.
Queen: I'm glad you take my words to heart little Throtand, let's continue.
Queen: Bardus rule with an ironfist never letting his grip over the Kingdom falter. He had to protect what his father had built!, he started becoming more military oriented training the populace into militaristic civilians. Expanding the town he began having the town carpenters start building new homes outside the walls. Many people expressed their fear that bandits could attack them without the protection, Bardus in his wisdom built another wall around the new homes. It may seem like common sense now Throtand, but back then no one else thought to make layered walls.
Throtand was absorbed in the story, so The abrupt stop to explain that little tidbit was annoying, but he kept listening. seeing the annoyed expression his mom chuckles and keeps going.
Queen: His sister Nina was different she was far more outgoing, she didn't have the mindset needed to rule the town. Though she wanted to help still she did something she thought would be good, she made the first crafters guild. Instead of separate craftsmen working against each other, she built a place where they could all work together and ply their trade to benefit the whole town. This was the origin of the first crafters guild of many to come.
Queen: By the time Bardus turned 30, the Kingdom grew larger. He now had 3 different towns to manage each with 100s of people children, couples, families of 10s and more. So many people he had a responsibility to protect, the stress was unbearable. The people sad at their King's declining health did something that would change everything. They made a council of 10 for each town to share the burden with the King, starting the kingdoms tradition of having commoners and nobles working together for the benefit of all.

Queen: Bardus being the wise ruler he is, saw the benefits to this and accepted it. Going from town to town yearly, discussing town issues and ways to improve the peoples lives with the council the kingdom grew even larger now 5 towns. Each with double layer walls while the Capital had 5 layers. The Kingdom prospered commoners safe from bandits and looters, farmers protected by guardsmen and the military training they received by the kings decree.
Queen: Over the years it kept growing, the people happy, the coffers filled and the armies strong. All was well, but nothing ever stays peaceful for the kingdom of Gravitas the land was fertile and rich the mines had large veins of gold and iron. The Kingdom of Kirk decided the land looked ripe enough to harvest, and started marching on the Kingdom of Gravitas for it was still small you see.
Queen: By this time rulership was passed to bardus's descendants. King Sebastian was not as ruler oriented as Bardus, but instead had a warriors heart and a wise mind. The spy's returning in haste told king sebastian of the imminent invasion. Seeing where they were headed he made a plan to fight their overwhelming numbers. Leading them into the forest of Virtus, he hid many traps and had bowmen shrouded in the trees foilage to ambush Kirks army. As the screams started the bowmen fired, and King Sebastian lead his troops into the battle wielding his thick greatsword that was more like a slab of iron than a sword.
Queen: Sebastian's warrior heart wouldn't let him sit on the sidelines. He charged from the foxholes they made to hide in and attacked the Kirk army from all sides. It was a brutal battle and many lives were lost, but thanks to careful planning and a good strategy King Sebastian came out the victor with a few more scars. His greatblade is contained in the royal vault, any royal family member with the warriors heart is given the sword. (Author: Think the dragonslayer blade from berserk)
Queen: This battle was called the Great battle of Virtus. Since this battle all Generals have been given the title of Virtus General after they have fought in a war to commend their valor in the defense of the Gravitas Kingdom. Since the battle concluded many battles have been fought with Kirk in defense of the people. Thankfully Bardus in his wisdom back then, inducted the entire nation into a militaristic training regime and that tradition had kept going even in King Sebastian's reign, so there was no shortage of able men and women to battle for their children and their children's children.
Throtand: Bardus the Wise, Sebastian the Valiant, Nina the Craft leader. So many people in our history do you think I can live up to their legends mom!.
Queen: Of course, but stop interrupting me I gotta conclude this soon and get back to work.
Queen: The war continued for 30 more years before it ended with the defender as the victor. King Sebastian reaching the age of 55 with his heir, prince Aeden led the kingdom into another golden age of prosperity. It now resembled any other Kingdom many counties and duchies the royal Capital reaching a total of 10 layer walls, the 10th wall is the trading zone, the 9th the guild zone, the 8th the tavern and dinning zone, 7th-5th layer the living zone, 4th-3rd layer the nobles zone, 2nd layer the royal army zone, 1st layer the royal palace. Each layer had it's own purpose and each wall was massive easily dwarfing the nobles own housing. It took impossible resources to build this all, and every town had layered walls.
Queen: That is basically it little Throtand, repeat history a few times and add in a couple wars over our 2000 year history and you got the Great Kingdom of Gravitas!.
Throtand soaking in the glory of his ancestors looks up at his mother with fire in his eyes. In his heart he has already decided to take the people of Gravitas to even greater heights!.

Aw my fingers hurt I wrote all this in one sitting because I kept procrastinating and when I did write something a power outage happens!.
This is all in impromptu history and I just used a few roman words that I like the meaning of such as gravitas and virtus!. Sorry if my grammar is bad or if it is hard to read, I really did take that run on sentence comment to heart and decided to use periods whenever a sentence looked too long. I appreciate anyone pointing out and providing examples of what I should be doing with my grammar as this is a learning experience for me.
I tried pretty hard and making this history lesson on the Kingdom of Gravitas enjoyable I certainly had fun writing it.
----------------------------------------
That hours thing was a lie...well I was but I sudden;y got really lazy.
----------------------------------------
I write this for my own reading purposes I actually have all these ideas in my mind kept locked up simply because I'm too self conscious this is as much for my own enjoyment as well as my own good!.
----------------------------------------
I don't think I lack a good imagination for this writing thing or the creativity. I like to think my characters feel real but I'm just narcissistic.
----------------------------------------
I'll keep writing even if yall don't leave comments it's not like I enjoy talking to people!.
