The hoard

The hoard

In a valley long forgotten, lies a young man who seems to be just waking up from a deep slumber. Luckily the system is nice enough to provide screens even under your eye lids.

[System Integrations Complete]

[Welcome User ‘Jake Reif’]

[As a late integration to the System, life experiences have been analysed for Class Generation]

[Class {Goblin Hoard lord} has been generated]

Class : Goblin Hoard Lord

‘Legends tell of a hoard filled with jewels and gold, piled higher than the sky. Artefacts and long forgotten scrolls laying around like scrap. This was the hoard of a dragon though, a goblins sense of value encapsulates anything that isn't theirs. As such, the legendary goblin hoards are often mistaken as dump zones, where anything could exist, from jewels to used socks. It is your task, as the last of the Hoard Lords to build a hoard that any goblin can be envious of’

+1 strength, +1 vitality, +2 unallocated skill points per level.

Experience obtained through combat is reduced by 95%, experience gained through increasing hoard size and value.

Goblins Hoard Lv1 *E:

‘Long have the Hoard Lords feared the theft of their rightfully stolen items by other Hoard Lords. This changed when the 15th lord of stolen plates, Xeto the plate Lord developed a skill that allows Hoard lords to create hoards in miniature universal storage zones.

Zone Size: 8 cubic metres

Objects cannot exceed available size, Hoard Lords mana will disperse if absorption of object fails. Objects in the hoard are placed in a state of stasis to prevent decay or destruction of precious hoard materials.

*E: This skill has been enhanced by an outside power, hoard storage space will increase a metre in every direction each day.

Goblins Magic Hand: Lv 1

‘Magic is detestable in Hoard Lord's eyes, it is a nonphysical object that cannot be put into the hoard. As such, a Hoard Lord's magic is passively dispersed into the environment to mark any loose object that can be stolen.’

The Goblin Hoard Lord is unable to use any other forms of magic. Once an object has been encapsulated by the Hoard Lords mana, it can be pulled into the {Goblin Hoard} Storage zone. Objects must not have other forms of mana from sentient creatures, as such, creatures with passive mana generation occurring cannot be stored.

*A working Goblins Hoard* : Lv 1

‘An additional unique skill provided by an outside power. As a Goblin Lord Hoard with memories of human life, comes human ingenuity when increasing your hoard's value and size.’

Hoard is treated as another instance of the user, actions can be recorded of the user interacting with objects outside of the hoard. Interaction can be replayed within the hoard with similar or available materials, time taken and quality of results will depend on recorded action. Actions taken using skills replayed in the hoard provide half experience. Recorded actions must be achievable by the user alone and tools used must exist within the hoard.

Information floods his mind, not a new experience considering his recent activities, but a pain still. He feels another migraine developing as he goes over the information and his current situation. Apparently out of his whole life experience of 23 years, his minor hoarding addiction was the most prominent.

A little sad, but luckily he didn't have to worry about any seeing him shed a few tears at his temporary midlife crisis as he rethinks everything he has ever done. Because as he would soon see after he stopped crying, the area he was summoned in was a canyon, maybe two stories down in the ground. The only thing in the canyon was an old wooden hut surrounded by a half torn down fence.

The night air started to chill as the two suns dipped under the horizon together. Jake pulled himself together and looked at his environment, the loose dirt, stones and leaves in every direction of him was gone. The ground had a yellow mist on it, ‘must be my mana’ the thought, swiping his foot through it. It swam around his foot and leg like smoke, filling in any holes he made.

With each step towards the hut, smoke flowing out of him, it seemed almost alive in the way it flowed towards any loose stone or leaves. Jake stopped and watched as a leaf was completely covered and a strange nagging feeling at the back of his mind was urging him to take it. With a thought it instantly vanished, as did the other leaves in the surroundings.

He looks behind him at a few rocks that were only partially covered in the gas, ‘maybe mass and density has made a difference’ . Picking up a loose stone causes the mana to cover it almost immediately compared to others on the ground.

His pace slows as he enters the front yard, this place looks long abandoned. The front door is laying down on the ground inside, broken in half. He walks to a dust covered bed in the corner and sits down. The mana had already started spreading around the room, into cabinets and under broken wood.

‘Time to look at this hoard’ Instantly his mind is pulled into his hoard, the floor looks like obsidian, deep black and smooth. The roof and walls are reminiscent of a cave, the only thing out of place is the arranged stack of leaves, stones and the occasional twig. That nagging feeling grew in his head, an emptiness filling him as he stared at the empty hoard. The feeling grows painful, forcing him out of his hoard. He pulls everything in the room that has been encapsulated by mana and falls back into the bed closing his eyes.
