“Miko….Mi…..ko.”
That voice… it is so…
“Loud!” I whined softly.
Rubbing my eyes before opening them up, my dreadful homeroom class filled my vision.
Around the room were classmates just chatting away or eating lunch in their table groups without a care in the world. Each clique minding their own business and discussing their plans for the weekend. Bleh.
“You awake now, Miko?”
A girl with long blonde hair whisked down to my side, her face leaning sideways. Wearing a neatly looped red ribbon and skirt, she was the definition of a person with style.
Feeling the breeze wash by, my nose perked up to the sweet scent.
Sniff.
“Citrus…” I mumbled.
“Hm? Did you say something?” Alice asked in her annoyingly cute voice.
“I said you’re loud!” I said, raising my voice a little.

Turning my head to face her, her bright blue eyes staring straight at me. My mind drew a blank as I looked into her ocean filled eyes as she raised an eyebrow in confusion.
Why is this person always oblivious to being cute? It’s too much! Move away!
Feeling my face grow hot, I quickly looked away.
“Ah, don’t be like that! Come on, let’s go get lunch! Hurry, get up!”
“I don’t want to get up.” I whined, stretching my arms into the air.
“You drooled on the desk.”
“Oi!” Embarrassed, I quickly brought my sleeve over my hand and wiped my desk dry.
Glancing at the annoying person beside me, I could see her cheeky smile as she giggled with a hand over her mouth.
“Miko.” Alice said in an out of character serious voice.
Not really paying much attention to it, I turned to face her. My eyes widened seeing a tear stream down her cheek. Not knowing what’s going on, my mind went into overdrive.
“What is it?” I finally asked in a casual voice.
“I love you.”
With my face growing hot, I swiftly put my arm on the desk and rested my cheek on my palm, looking the other direction.
“Yeah, yeah. You always say that. Why do you keep repeating yourself?”
I could feel her smug smile behind me. Hearing footsteps come from the side, I could feel her drawing closer.
Her white uniform coming into vision, she crouched down with her face now at eye level.
She smiled with her cheeks blushing.
“Because I really do love you… Miko!”
