They were standing in the darkness. Well relative darkness, since they don’t perceive light in the manner people do. Their sense of sight perceives all sorts of energy, filtering it until it resembles human like sensation. And their surrounding was one giant well of energy. Slowly shrinking, compressing into one point.
“Naruto and his twin sister Natsumi? Do we really have to play main character? It’s not like it would be a big difference for us to start as some no name and then beat Kaguya or whoever anyway.”
Asked male voice. Frankly he didn’t have much to say. He was very clear that all his protests are in vain. His female partner won’t care about any of this, and just do what she wants. He just complains as a matter of a principle.
“It’s because I want to start in this time period, and I don’t think I could stand this guy if I met him in a real life. Not that I don’t like him. I do. But I could never understand this fashion that main character has to be dense.”
“So, you like him, but you can stand him? What do you mean?”
“I think he as a persona is quite likable, but all this stupor and so on are just a pain in the ass. Beside this way I can fix this sick childhood of his… of ours.”
She finished with slightly amused voice. It was quite a sight to see her so lively. It’s clear how excited she is about the whole prospect.
“Actually, whole team seven works on my nerves. My best opinion is about Naruto. The other three, well… we will see.”
“Fine, fine. Are you ready?”
Actions speaks louder than words. As if to testify this, the giant mass of raw energy, stilled for a moment, then went at astronomical speed towards the horizon. Breaking, shaping, and then repairing a reality. Over and over again.
Chaos and destruction. Both being beginning and the end. They used this Concept as a spring step for yet another Concept. Reincarnation.
When giant and turbulent explosion finally settled there was a lone star over the horizon. Symbol of a new path. Sign of reality which was broken, to never be the same ever again.
“So, are we starting? You wanted to be overpowered in this new life. You should hurry up, before reality completely stabilizes itself.”
This was a joke. They understood Concept of Time well enough that it no longer affected them. They had all the time in the world for they decision. Nevertheless, they both felt strange rush and excitement, at the prospect. So, female started.
“I want huge amount of chakra. Two times bigger than ten tails.”
Around them in the darkness part of the residual energy from explosion flared, in the pretty light blue color, then rushed toward the distant star.
“Fine, me too.”
Following male voice, yet another bundle of energy flared and rushed forward. The only difference was that this time it was pale green.
“Copycat. Whatever. I want… I don’t know, there’s too many things.”
The author's narrative has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.
“Haha. Then I’ll start. I don’t want us to have any limit. If we simply use all that power, then we’ll more probably explode taking the planet with us.”
“Good one.” She said observing two flares of energy racing towards the star, as if trying to see which one was faster. “Then I want extremely fast regeneration.”
“Cheater. I want extremely fast regeneration. And no possibility for any scars.”
“You’re just saying the same as me! But it was a good idea with this no scars thing. Me too. Since we’re there I want near bottomless physical stamina.”
“You’re surprised I’m copying you?! Then stop hoarding the best thi…” He stopped, when he saw light blue orb forming, and then shooting forward. “Are you serious? That’s the dumbest idea ever.”
“No, it’s brilliant!”
“But…”
“No buts!” Shrieked female voice in a high-pitched voice. “You can say whatever you want but I won’t change my decision. Danzo gets chronic diarrhea and he’ll spend six hours every day in the toilet! Buahahahahahaha…”
Male god decided to ignore his insane partner, and instead he concentrated on his few next wishes concerning the world they’re going to. He just greatly increased population, and in general increased the scale of everything when he caught sight of what the female is doing.
“Aren’t you exaggerating a bit?” She was just posing to the giant mirror. It was a bit comical to see featureless silhouette pretending to be a model. But… The problem was the figure in the mirror.
“What? It’s my first time having physical body. I can as well go all out.” She said lightly tapping surface of the mirror transforming it into orb of light blue energy.
He sighed exasperated. It’s no use arguing with her.
“Really, first time? You never had physical body?”
“Did you? I thought this is your first reincarnation as well.”
“That’s true. But I used Concept of possession several times. Even if not this there are few other Concepts you can use to acquire body.”
“No, I never tried to comprehend these ones. There are weird. I didn’t even fully comprehend Concept of reincarnation. But that’s not important right now.”
She thought for a moment about next course of action, then continued.
“I want affinity for all five elemental nature affinities, for Ying-Yang release… As for Kekkei Genkai…” She started listing, and straight forward inventing powers on the spot, while their environment looked like meteor shower was passing over.
“I know that you’d like to be overpowered and everything, but do you really have to make your Rinne Sharingan have unlimited use of Kotoamatsukami? Whatever.” He said when he didn’t receive any response. Then he continued with his own list of powers, ignoring accusatory gaze of his partner when an even higher shower of meteor appeared. “Oh, and I want to be completely immune to genjutsu, mind control, sealing, or any other actions that limits or inhibits my freedom of will.”
“Yeaaah me too.” Said female voice still carrying an offended note after earlier display of shamelessness. “What about our childhood? Frankly I don’t want to be persecuted and abused like canon Naruto.”
“Hmmm. How about we make Kurama never reach the village. Instead he rampaged in a forest several kilometers away. And we make high-ups keep their mouth shut about our status for real this time. I think in this case the most problematic is Danzo, but after your stunt earlier he will have bigger problems than trying to control two Jinchurikis.”
She giggled, and then agreed with his suggestions, following which two orbs flared and rushed towards the star.
“Is there something else? You’re reading this type of stories all the time, so you’re the expert here.”
“Hmmm. We picked so much abilities that we don’t have time to train them to acceptable level. In one novel I found something interesting. I want to learn everything ten times faster than the biggest prodigies in all of universe in whole history before and after me. EXCLUDING those who are using Concept of reincarnation.” She eyed her amused partner. “You see? I’m nice.”
“Yeah, right… Copy that. So, by the way who takes Ying, who takes Yang half of Kurama?”
“You can take Yang. Physical energy suits you better, you brute.”
She continued listing some wishes, after which she stopped, and looked at her partner.
“Do we need something else?”
“No, I don’t think so…”
“So, we’re going?”
“Yep.”
“Are you ready?
“Nope.”
“Me neither. So? 1?”
“2…”
“”3!””
They both shouted, then they transformed into streaks of light and rushed towards the lone star over the horizon.
Last thing they noticed was a mischievous giggle following them, but they put it off assuming it’s just their imagination.
