Jimmy looked at his closet and grabbed his hoodie. He looked at himself in the mirror as he placed it over his head. He stared at the picture of Peyton he had on the mirror.
He read what it said out loud, "Imagine a future moment in your life where all your dreams come true. You know it's the greatest moment of your life and you get to experience it with one person. Who's standing next to you?"
"You Peyton. It's you I want to see standing next to me. Will you ever notice me Peyton?" Jimmy said out loud. Just then there was a knock at his door.
"Jimmy?" His mom said from outside the door. "Is everything all right?". JImmy sighed and stared at the mirror and with a sad face said. "Yea! Everything is fine, Ma!"
"Ok honey. I was just making sure." His mom said as he grabbed a bag and opened his door. She looked up at him with a concerned face.
"I'm fine, Ma." He said softly as he walked past her and left the house.

Jake put on his hoodie on, made sure his headphones were in his ears correctly and started to dribble the basketball down the sidewalk as he pressed play on his pocket radio.
Soft rock music filled his ears as he dribbled. He dribbled the basketball to the beat of the music. Dribble......Dribble.....Dribble. He kept dribbling and didn't notice the car speeding from the left.

Peyton was upset. She felt as though her whole world was closing in on her and she didn't know how to stop it from crushing her. All the friends she thought she had, all dropped her when her Mom got diagnosed with cancer. What friends they were. She thought.
The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
Her mom only had a few days to live and she decided to be home instead of at the hospice.
The doctors let her stay home because as they said "She can go at any moment. Unfortunately we don't have the exact date. I'm sorry that I can give more information."
Peyton and her father brought her home and waited for the worst. A week later, her mom was still alive. There was a game in a few days at school and Peyton didn't know how she was going to cheer with all of this happening.
She grabbed the plate of food and walked it upstairs to the room her mom was in. Her dad had to go back to work because he had already taken six months off.
"I know this is the worst timing and I am sorry Peyton." Her dad said as he gave her a kiss and left the house.
"Whatever dad" Peyton had muttered as she closed the door behind him.
She pushed the door to her mom's room and brought the plate over to her. "Mom? Are you awake? I brought you some soup." She said as she moved her to wake her.
Her mom turned slowly and sat up in the bed. "Thank you sweetie."
Peyton grabbed the spoon and started to feed her the soup.

Jake's eyes opened wide as he saw the car spiraling towards him. He moved to the side just in time for the car to crash into the tree that was behind him.
Jake grabbed his cellphone and called 911 as he walked over to the passenger side.
"Jimmy?" Jake said as he noticed that his forehead was bleeding. The car started to smoke.
Jimmy groaned and tried to move. Jake acted quickly and opened the passenger door. "Are you ok?" Jake asked him as he went to unbuckle Jimmy's seatbelt.
"I think so." Jimmy said as he placed his hand on the seatbelt to help Jake.
"What were you doing? Why were you speeding past the red light?" Jake asked as he helped JImmy get out of the car.
I wanted to die. Jimmy thought.
"My foot hit the gas by mistake. I should have been more alert." Jimmy said as paramedics arrived and started to check on him.
Jake didn't believe a word Jimmy had just said. But he let it go. "Alright man. Yes please be more alert next time"
Jimmy nodded as the paramedics said "We going to take you to the hospital. We want to make sure you don't have a concussion. Do you have a parent you can call?"
"I'll call your mom Jimmy. I'll tell her to meet us at the hospital" Jake said as he got into the ambulance with them. The paramedics nodded as Jake called.
