Synopsis
Welcome to Paradise. My name is William, or just Will, and I was reborn in this strange place all 'Iseki' like. The thing is, that's pretty much everyone's story. Basically everyone who is here was reborn after living life somewhere else. But not everyone is born the same. A fair number of people are reborn with a little extra; something carried over from their previous lives. For most this is a few extra stat points or a magical skill that they already know. Me, I got the best thing ever! I got the super power of Genre Savvy!
Quick, ask me how I know. :p
... Hu... I didn't know I could make emojis in this type of moment of self reflection... Moving on:
So yeah, reborn in another world. The whole world works like a giant Video Game or Lit-RPG. People have magic that fits into certain basic classes, but is surprisingly customizable and there is a lot of stuff that people can do outside that framework. The world seems halfway betwen Modern Magic and Sword and Sorcery in that most of the modern conveniences of life are around in some form, but people also carry around swords and a lot of them dress like it is the middle ages. There are stats based off the traditional 6 stat system, magic items, and even discrete pools for HP, SP, and MP.
That's Health Points, Stamana Points, and Magic Points for those not in the know. Also, just to make sure we are all caught up, the traditional 6 stats of Strength, Dexterity, Constitution, Inteligence, Wisdom, and Charisma; though most people here list them in a different order.
My plan in life is to go on a great adventure! See the world! Meet new lifeforms and new civilizations! Boldly go where... er, lets stop before I get hit with copyright infringement... There is just one problem: First I have to get through this world's version of a 'tutorial'. That means growing up to the point where I'm not a little kid anymore. And, unfortunately, I have to do it the long way.
I, personally, think this is dumb. Really really dumb. Most stories just start off with the weirdly overpowered kid entering magic school, so why do I have to actually live through the backstory where I actually grow up into that overpowered kid? It is so unfair that this game-world has no button to skip the prologue.
Still, maybe it isn't all that bad. Didn't someone wise (not me) once say that 'the value is in the journey, not the destination'?
--------------------------------
Author's Note: The story is mostly wholesome fun of a kid treating a video-game-like world like it is a real-life-like video game (or vice versa), though more serious themes do show on occasion and some people use bad words from time to time.
Be warned, though, updates can be sporadic. I basically only write when I have time and am in the right mood, so there is no regular update schedule.
