Its laughter makes me uneasy.
As I remain there motionless, thinking about the situation, eventually I realize that I can't just stand here and keep doing nothing. I'll just have to dodge it, if it throws the javelins back at me.
"Alright, big guy. Let's dance," I whisper, gripping another javelin firmly. I step cautiously closer to the doorway, my eyes locked onto the grotesque form of the Elite Zombie Boss. It stands there, its bloodshot eyes unblinking, as if daring me to make a move.
With a deep breath, I throw the javelin with all my might, aiming for its head once again. The javelin flies true, but the Elite Zombie Boss is too quick. It catches the javelin midair and, with a twisted grin, hurls it back at me.
I barely dodge it, feeling the whoosh of air as the javelin passes inches from my face. "Nice catch," I growl, adrenaline surging through my veins. "But let's see how long you can keep that up."
Determined, I grab another javelin and launch it at the creature. Again, it manages to deflect my attack and send the javelin hurtling back towards me. I dive to the side, narrowly avoiding the projectile, as it pierces the wall behind me.
"You're good, I'll give you that," I snarl, "But I'm just getting warmed up."
As the battle rages on, each time I hurl my javelin, the monstrous Elite Zombie Boss skillfully catches them in its grasp, deflecting them with terrifying efficiency. Yet, amidst these deflected attacks, a few manage to slip past its defense and scratch its powerful form, chipping away at its health.
"Not so invincible after all, are you?" I taunt, noticing the creature's roars of pain and frustration. The scratches that connect are shallow but are slowly accumulating, gradually weakening the imposing behemoth before me.
However, in its frenzied attempts to fend off my assault, it also manages to land a few scratches on me as well. The pain is sharp and biting, jolting through my body with every hit I take.
"Is that all you've got?" I grit out, pushing through the agony. "I've had paper cuts that were worse than this."

As the battle goes on, I can see the Elite Zombie Boss slowly faltering, its movements becoming sluggish, its roars less intimidating. It's losing strength, and I can sense victory within my grasp.
Then, in a surprising twist, the Elite Zombie Boss begins to retreat. I watch in disbelief as the creature, which had seemed so menacing and invincible just moments ago, starts backing away, its bloodshot eyes flickering with what looks like uncertainty.
"What, are you seriously going to retreat when I'm just about to defeat you?!" I exclaim, incredulous at the turn of events. The notion that this towering, nightmarish entity would actually flee is baffling. "Come on, don't tell me you're running away now!"
I stand there for a moment, panting, as I glare at its retreating form. A part of me wants to chase it, and finish it off.
But another part, perhaps the more rational part, cautions against overreaching.
"No, no, no. No way am I going to be letting you off that easily," I seethe, while shaking my head. With a surge of outrage, I tighten my grip on the javelin and sprint out of the restroom, chasing after the retreating form of the Elite Zombie Boss.
My feet pound against the floor, the steps echoing in the empty corridors. "Little piggy. Little piggy. You can run, but you can't hide!" I call out, the thrill of the hunt propelling me forward. I can't afford to lose sight of it now, not when victory is so close.
As I close in on the creature, I don’t bother slowing down.
The Elite Zombie Boss's hulking form is just ahead.
A more perceptive observer might notice that its retreat seems unhurried, almost as if it's baiting me further, but to me, it just looks like it's running for its life.
"What's the matter? Tired already?" I taunt, closing the distance between us.
Then, in a flurry of movement that catches me completely off guard, the Elite Zombie Boss whirls around with astonishing speed. Before I can even react, it grabs me around the waist, its iron-like grip strong and unyielding. A leering grin slowly spreads across its gruesome face, revealing rows of jagged, stained teeth.
"Well, this is awkward," I manage to say, my voice strained as I struggle against its hold. The creature's strength is overwhelming, its fingers digging painfully into my side. "No offense, but you're not exactly what I meant when I mentioned that I was looking for a drop-dead gorgeous partner."
The Elite Zombie Boss's leering grin widens, a grotesque mockery of amusement.
It seems to be laughing at me, delighting in my struggles.
Pinned in the vice-like grip of the Elite Zombie Boss, its grotesque maw inches away, a wave of despair washes over me. "Damn it, is this the end for me?"
