Chapter 4: rebirth

Prima lux was pondering about her last meeting with jerico on earth. She thought that it was odd, he seemed not to be as shocked as her vision had shown him to be upon meeting, everything else went as planned. The goddess was in her territory of the in between. Territories are a reflection of the soul that can take physical form in this space, in which the owner rules Supreme.

To have a territory, one must break the limit of a demigod and become a true God. Most demi gods never reach this level because, they refuse to cope with their inner demons. With great difficulty, prima overcame her trial in the time when her and the first ones could be considered young.

Sitting in a lotus position in her own personal garden, absorbing the ambient fora produced by the celestial hibiscus surrounding her. These were beautiful liquid crystal flowers that are known to only grow in areas where moon light never stops shining. Fora was one of two types of energy prima cultivated. Sunra being the former. Fora gave prima the ability to enter deep meditation. With this, she was able to see small glimpses of possible futures, it also helped her to comprehend concepts of the universe. Sunra embodies passion and battle energy, helping to hone one's skills in combat.

Opening her eyes, prima said with a frown.

“Come from your hiding, sevireth, you cannot hide.”

As if stepping from an invisible wall, there stood a man in a robe made of what looked like gray mist with shadows moving about within. The hood was drawn up, obscuring his face in shadow. Only two piercing bright-green eyes could be seen, along with a long braid tied at the end with a runic chain. Sevireth took a few steps forward without making a sound, approaching prima. Kneeling in front of prima, sevireth began.

“It is done, lady moon. The boy is in the in between, said sevireth with a slight pause…if I may mistress, just who is he? Asked sevireth, in an unusually curious tone, Never in the thousands of years that I have been a minor God, has a mortal been able to sense me.

To see through my misdirection, he said with some irritation, However, I was met by a warrior of the sherrvan as well as I was watching the boy from a distance. He in gauged me in combat for a brief while. I think they wanted him as well, he refused to even make combat banter, said sevireth with a little disappointment.

Prima thought this over to herself. “Could the other gods have known?.. I wonder…”

“What of jerico? Did you make his last moments honorable? What is your opinion of him shade?? Said prima bringing the conversation back on track.

Sevireth flinched at this name, but had his smug smirk on in a flash. His chest rumbling as if holding In his laughter to some joke only he was aware of. With mirth, sevireth began his story….

“And so I manipulated him into believing his friend was in mortal danger, and of course he chose to be a hero and got himself killed running in front of a forklift! He even shit himself! Said sevireth with a twisted smirk on his face. The scary part was he even managed to use some meager mortal movement skill. I have never seen an earther use a skill on their home planet. There's almost no energy on that planet!”

This was surprising news to prima. She would have to look back to witness this. She was glad this step was over, thoughPrima knew that sevireth had a sadistic streak when it came to his role as the mortal reaper. Prima had no idea why the elder gods saw fit to give him his station. Prima had no doubts about the council of elder gods having corrupted members.

Gold and silver eyes met green. A few seconds into this stare down, sevireth scoffed and looked away.

With reluctance, sevireth walked over to a tree near the edge of the garden and leaned on it. Sighing, sevireth said," He has carzy potential, I see why you chose him as a candidate. Every time I drifted closer, he seemed to know I was there. I think he even saw me on a couple of occasions”.

This interested prima as she recalled her meeting with jerico. The fact that he could see my energy effecting the environment was reason enough for me to know he was special, this just confirms it. Thought prima with some excitement. Maybe he is the one.

“You said he preformed a movement skill? How is this possible, shade? He is still in the mortal realm, surely he did not break through.” Said prima in an indifferent tone, trying not to let sevireth know just how interested she was.

“That's the thing!” said sevireth becoming anxious and starting to pace back and forth. “He did exactly that! As he was watching what looked like his friend about to die, he pulled on the energy of my spell and pulled it into his energy core. For a human, he could already be at the gathering stage.”

Getting up prima looked toward sevireth in a professional manner and said" That is all sevireth, I thank you for your service, now begone. “

In an exaggerated bow, sevireth said with venom in his voice “As you wish your highness…” and faded from her territory.

“I suppose it's time for me to go to the elder plane and convine with the other gods. The birth of new stars is upon us. War will be near.” Prima said anxiously.

Making a gesture with her hand, prima summoned a portal that sprang to existence immediately, it's shimmering edges looked like stained-glass in a prismatic rainbow, it was warping reality and folding the distance between her territory and her destination. Prima took a step forward and through the portal, her territory folding back into her soul, leaving behind an endless black space.

…in another realityJerico was adrift in the endless expanse of the in between. Slowly he started to come to his senses and his eyes snapped open! Screaming, jerico said, "OH FUCK!” closing his eyes again due to wherever he was being so damn bright! Trying to organize his thoughts, jerico tried to recall what was happening. Try as he might, he could not recall anything at all except a forklift and the smell of shit. Weird.

Slowly opening his eyes this time as to adjust to the brightness, jerico was dumbfounded. He seemed to be in space. Freaking out, jerico tried to hold his breath and reach for his throat, except he didn't feel the need to breathe and his arms would not respond to him. Looking down, jerico didn't see his body. Just a grayish light?

“Did I die?.. I think maybe I did…” Thought jerico with sadness, though he didn't know why.

Looking around, jerico finally came to except that he was really amongst the stars. It was truly beautiful, each star had its own unique colors, from brilliant gold to prismatic Crystal and all the way to a muddy brown. All of them had various shades and shapes. He just knew that if he reached, most of them would welcome him.

Although, some of these stars were challenging and hostile and off in the distance were strange black spheres that seemed to be absorbing the light that all the stars emanated. Slowly, the stars closest to these black spheres started to blink out and turn into what looked like black obsidian Crystal's. This worried jerico, but he didn't know why. On an instinctual level, he knew this to be very wrong.

Starting to panic, jerico realized that more and more stars were being extinguished. When suddenly a pressure settled on jerico like a mountain falling on his shoulders. Jerico felt small, smaller than he ever had, like one speck of sand on a beach eroding until nothing was left.

Like the cannons of war, a voice boomed across the in between “OATH BREAKERS! HOW DARE YOU HUNT UPON THIS SACRED REALM! MY LACK OF PRESENCE HAS MADE YOU BOLD SOUL THIEFS!” in the next moment, all of the black spheres were encased in runes that slowly compressed them. Jerico thought he could hear screaming coming from the strange black spheres until they completely folded in on themselves and with a flash of light they were gone.

All the stars in the area started to move. Slow at first, barely noticeable, then they began to pick up speed up until each star was bending the space around it. Each of them started to circle as if something was pulling them in. As if they were being drawn into a gravitational pull. Jerico described it as glitter being flushed down the toilet. As he approached center mass, jerico wondered what he did to be put in a situation like this.
