Everyone has dreams ;humans dream of prosperity, fortune, and health. Their dreams make up their aspirations and goals, flowing through their minds at night and manifesting into thoughts that give them purpose and drive, telling them what they live for—what they sometimes like to call determination.
But for a being like him, dreams were out of question. His desires surpassed human aspirations, and his goals surpassed their comprehension. He saw their dreams as a flower with no root, destined to die eventually; though beautiful, human resilience was amusing to him though their dreams meant nothing to him. Lumi felt indifferent to their dreams. No, it didn’t matter to him, perhaps he didn’t just feel indifference towards them, maybe he envied them too and their ability to dream of “insignificant” things. It wasn’t that Lumi hated being light. No, he hated being perceived as tranquil; no matter what, his light felt monotonous. It was a torment on his mind: “What dares to bother and weigh on your mind, my luminescence?” Nadia said as Lumi turned, with his back facing her, breaking away from her embrace. “You should leave.”
Lumi shot coldly. She hesitated for a moment before getting up and wearing her clothes, she left. Before she left, for a brief moment, she stopped to look at him. Her eyes grazed and scanned him, her gaze traced the smooth layers of his skin, he really lived up to being light, his skin porcelain and smooth, his perfectly curved lips, he was perfection. Deep down Nadia knew that, she was just one of many playthings Lumi has, but she couldn’t stop herself from caring about him.
Lumi’s eyes wandered, and his mind drifted in thought: A thought that maybe he should visit “The place.” That place, he hadn’t visited in a while. It was what he needed to take his mind off things. Lumi rose and went to his garden. The sweet smell of freshly bloomed jasmine filled the air. Lumi hated that smell; it reminded him of “The place” and “That person.” But Lumi might have hated the smell and the painful memories of the past, but he could never despise her, he loved her.
As the moonlight casts over the petals of the flowers, a shimmery glow emerges beckoning Lumi, calling him home, the flowers welcome him as if they had been anticipating his return, they call him home. “Mother always said they had a mind of their own,” Lumi muttered, “but this is more than I can withstand…” The flowers danced away making a path for Lumi, but he took one glance at them, one sigh, and turned his back—he wasn’t ready to see “The place,” most especially he didn’t want the painful memories of the past to resurface.

As Lumi stood he radiated , he simply glowed he was captivating and serene , the gentle glows from the flowers intertwined with the radiant glow of his hazel eyes , Luminus selinó phos a child of light born by the sun and moon , he was the solidarity of the moonlight and the embrace of the sun, to fully grasp Lumi is to assimilate light—not its tranquility nor its brilliance, but how it feels. How can that be possible ? Luminus selinó phos is light, the purest of it. As he left the clacking sound of his footsteps resonated in the empty hallway, it was a beautiful hallway with gold and silver frames that held paintings of notable figures ,flower vases that held enchanting jasmine flowers.
Lumi slipped into his bedroom, his disillusionment strewn around him. Thoughts drifted far into the universe, touching the skies of faraway worlds and dancing among the stars and cosmos. He drifted into sleep, dreaming of worlds beyond his reach. Distant laughter echoed in the background of Lumi’s mind as a blurry figure emerged. “I’ll never love anyone as much as I love you, Lumi…” as the words lingered and bounced in his mind, echoing through his ears, Lumi jolted from his bed, heavy breathing.“Why can’t I escape you? Your essence still lingers in my mind even when you’re gone. Why does my heart wish and long for what it cannot obtain? Why am I burdened with this saddened love?” Lumi questioned.
As lumi pondered in the stillness of his room a knock came disrupting the silence. “my lord, master Zuhair is here,” the servant voiced from the door, “he wishes to extend his greetings”. Zuhair al-Yaqūt al-Azraq—-the lord that ruled the tides and waves, a being of both praise and terror. He was a monster that was feared across the seas of the universe, yet underneath his power lay a beauty the transcended mere mortal comprehension—- a beauty that radiated both strength and sensuality , with his long dark thick hair as magnificent as a midnight waterfall, and eyes the colour of the deepest blue , yet his skin honeyed and sun kissed, his presence was as captivating as the seas he commanded. His slender yet muscular build emitted both strength and grace, like the oceans rise and fall, delicate yet insanely powerful.
That was the man closest to lumi , lumi sought zuhair’s opinion on anything and everything, his only confidant . Lumi rose from his bed, dusting his clothes, he walked slowly to approach his mirror to observe his face , Lumi was dashingly handsome but in the last few days he’d lost weight, his eyes sunk and sully ,his skin pale and impoverished , he was in a sorry state a state Zuhair would question , Lumi had deluded himself with false belief of his own wellbeing, he forced a smile as tears welled up in his eyes like a fountain begging to overflow he cried ,Lumi cried , he hadn't in a while.
