Capture the sentry

On a colossal banyan tree with a trunk nearly 20 meters thick and towering over a hundred meters high, its branches lush and dense, resided the elven clan of this tribe, Lira.

A slender elf clad in black combat attire leaped to the doorstep, knocked, and spoke in a hushed voice, "Mother, it's me."

"Kasanna? Come in," a voice responded from within, authoritative yet gentle.

Pushing the door open, Kasanna saw a mature woman tenderly nursing an infant in her arms.

The woman's face was strikingly beautiful, with a fair complexion and large, golden eyes, complemented by a pair of pointed ears.

Her gaze was filled with warmth and charm, exuding a strong maternal aura.

Her figure was the epitome of maturity, a stark contrast to Kasanna's slim and delicate form.

The elf mother smiled indulgently. "This little one is hungry again, it seems no matter how many times I feed him, it's never enough."

The infant suckled greedily, milk dribbling from the corners of its mouth. For others, such frequent feedings would surely be insufficient, but to the elf mother, her milk seemed an inexhaustible resource.

Kasanna, slightly bashful, lowered her head and stammered, "Mo-mother, I've come to report a discovery."

"Go ahead, my child," Lira said calmly."

In the dense forest to the east, I found a dead Black-Scaled Giant Bear.

It had already been devoured by vultures," Kasanna reported.

This was a matter of concern. A Black-Scaled Giant Bear could wreak havoc on their tribe.

The fact that it had been killed suggested the presence of something truly terrifying.

"Is that so? As far as I know, in this Enchanted Forest, there is only one beast stronger than a Black-Scaled Giant Bear, but it is supposed to dwell in the west.

Do you have any concrete clues?" Lira asked, her tone turning serious.

Kasanna pondered for a moment. "Well, the scene indicated a battle, but there were no signs of the victor. Apart from the second-order beasts feasting there, I found many tracks of ancient goblins. Could it be them...?"

"Goblins? That's absolutely impossible.

Those lowly creatures could never kill a Black-Scaled Giant Bear, not even if a hero-level goblin were born among them.

Moreover, the ancient goblins in this forest are so weak they can be disregarded," Lira said, her eyes filled with disdain at the mention of goblins.

Yet the absence of any trace of the victor was puzzling.

In the end, Lira could only conclude, "It's most likely the work of humans. Only those vile and cunning creatures could kill a Black-Scaled Giant Bear without leaving a trace."

"Perhaps, Mother. I'll take my leave then and report back if anything else comes up," Kasanna said with a forced smile, cheerfully.

Lira gently touched the young elf's head. "Go ahead, my child. You've worked hard."

The next day.

Kasanna rushed in again. "Mother, I've spotted a goblin!"

Pushing open the door, she found Lira's room occupied not only by her but also by two male elves.

Startled, Kasanna let out a scream and retreated, her face turning bright red.

The two male elves hastily tidied up and fled through the window.

"Come in," Lira's slightly husky voice called from inside.

Kasanna cautiously peeked in and, seeing only Lira, finally entered.

Lira's mature and sensual face still bore the remnants of a deep red mark, and the bed was in disarray, with clothes scattered everywhere.

Embarrassed, Kasanna greeted, "Mother, your bed..."

"Kasanna, my dear, never mind that for now. Tell me what you've found," Lira said, quickly covering herself with clothes.

Kasanna quickly regained her composure and said, "I saw a goblin lurking around the Omnipotent Forest, acting very suspiciously."

"How dare it show up here? Didn't you kill that disgusting creature?" Lira asked, slightly surprised.

She knew goblins had a particular fondness for elves. At the mining outpost, it was common for goblins to sneak around and peek, so it wasn't unusual.

But no goblin had ever dared to approach the Omnipotent Forest before.

This was the first time.

Lira shook her head, a hint of grievance in her voice. "I don't know how I missed the shot and let that goblin escape."

The elves' archery was renowned for its precision, with a very low chance of missing. But it wasn't impossible.

Lira cradled Kasanna in her soft embrace as if she were an infant, comforting her. "My child, it's not your fault. It's just a mere goblin. It's okay, let it go."

"Oh, alright, Mother," Kasanna said, feeling much better and preparing to leave.

Lira called her back. Her charming face now tinged with a bit of shyness, making her seem even more lovable. "But my child, next time you come in, knock on the door first."

"I understand, Mother," Kasanna replied, her face flushing red as she hurriedly left.

Goblin Tribe.

"Boss, there are about thirty-one elven treehouses in the Omnipotent Forest, and they're all very, very tall!" a goblin was explaining to Neo, using fingers from other goblins to count clearly.

Neo hummed in approval. "Well done. I'll reward you with two elves when the time comes."

"Two elves? Hahaha! Thank you, Boss! Long live the Boss!" The goblin, who had been sent to gather intelligence and was the one Kasanna had discovered, shouted excitedly, his face contorting with joy.

It wasn't actually a missed shot; the arrow had struck his breastplate and failed to penetrate.

Neo began to ponder.

Thirty-one elven treehouses, with an average of two elves per house, since some lived alone, meant there were at least sixty elves.

Including the ten or so at the mining outpost, that made at least seventy in total.

Each elf had a combat strength of around two hundred, which Neo had observed at the mining area. They were slightly weaker than his goblins.

But the elves' dwellings were highly defensible, and they moved quickly. Under normal circumstances, it would be impossible to conquer them.

However, they had hunted numerous first-order Ghost-Faced Wolves and learned the 'Climbing' skill, which allowed them to easily scale trees.

With a midnight raid, they could take them all by surprise!

The goblin asked, "Boss, are we about to attack the elven tribe?"

"Yes, tonight, we attack the elves! And we'll breed more powerful goblins!" Neo shouted, rallying his troops.

In an instant, the entire tribe responded with fierce cheers, sharpening their blades and preparing their armor for the raid.

Meanwhile, Neo decided to use the Life Simulation again to see if there would be any surprises that night.

"System, initiate Life Simulation."

【Life Simulation System is starting. Current Scenario : The Eve of the Raid】

In the dead of night, you lead your army silently towards the Omnipotent Forest.

For convenience, you even switched everyone's weapons to daggers. You are confident because your combined attributes are stronger than the elves', and it's a surprise attack.

Upon arriving at the Omnipotent Forest, the goblins climb the treehouses, only to find no elves inside!

They look around and realize that the elves had hidden in the treetops in advance, drawing their bows and overwhelming the goblins with a barrage of arrows!

You are not spared either. Captured by the elven matriarch, you are hanged in the Omnipotent Forest as a warning to the goblins.

The Life Simulation end.】

"What?!"

Neo snapped back to reality, shocked that they had failed, and worse, completely wiped out?!

What had gone wrong?

Thought it was foolproof, but it was actually under someone else's control?

Immediately, Neo realized a possibility: they had been under surveillance!

His eyes turned cold as he began to cautiously observe his surroundings.

Finally, he spotted a figure in black stealth attire hidden in the treetops. It had to be an elven sentry.

They had been outsmarted!

"I have to capture her immediately; otherwise, it will be disastrous if she runs back to warn them!"

Neo thought quickly, knowing he couldn't let her escape.

But elves were adept at leaping between trees, and the goblins' small frames would never catch her.

He could only resort to a sneak attack.

Elves were extremely perceptive, so Neo had the goblins start dancing around the bonfire to distract the sentry.

With his homemade bow and arrow, coated with the paralyzing venom he secreted, Neo stealthily positioned himself beneath the elf.

Neo fired the arrow with all his might!

"Bang!"
