They pushed passed civilians who stood outside and pointed at the club in a frenzy. They had no idea what the people had seen but they always had time to figure it out later.
Provided they stayed alive to do so.
"Val, the remote." Symon called as they dodged into a nearby alley to avoid being seen by the normal police in the cars that zoomed by.
Val reached into the pocket of his pants, he stopped running drawing the attention of the other two in front of him.
"What's with that look on your face, boy?" Egeaus asked already fearing the worst.
"It means he can't find the remote." Symon snarled.
"I don't...it must have fallen out when that Dread person flung me, which hurt thank you for asking." He growled kicking at a stone.
"This is bad." The Vampire with them whined.
"You're a powerful Vampire, you have nothing to worry about right?" Val asked.
"You are very misinformed if you think I'm powerful, child, the power is in my blood and cam only be harnessed if another Vampire drinks it."
"In other words he's useless against an opponent like me." They heard a voice behind them say.
Val swiftly launched an energy sphere as he turned around. It didn't hit the man, instead blew up a few inches to impact and the air shimmered. "I advice you to give up now criminal, we have reinforcements in the area, when they get here you'll be out numbered."
Dread chuckled spiteful, "If you're talking about all those pathetic losers that were meant to be watching Thornhold, then I'm sorry to inform you they won't be coming to your rescue. My blood thirsty friend on the other hand is on her way."
Symon caught sight of Val's remote dangling on one of Dread's belt loops, a plan quickly formed in his head. "Val keep him distracted while I get Egeaus away." He shouted.
Val's first thoughts were 'Why me?' He dropped to the ground slamming his hand into the concrete. Giant granite spikes emerged charging in Dread's direction. The man had the decency to look mildly impressed. His tail flashed forward, knocking each spike aside.
"You have potential kid." He said taking his cigarette out of his mouth. "You could benefit a lot from joining the Incursion, humans who join us will be spared when we become all powerful."
Val tried another attack, he threw on sphere and with swish of his hand it divided into an uncountable amount each with its own attribute of elemental magick, they lit up as they reached their target with a deafening crash.
Symon had stood by, waiting for an opportunity. He was stunned, the amount of magick Val was using at the moment differed clearly from what he used during training. Had he purposely been holding back? Knowing Val that was probably what the stupid human had been doing, he loved surprising people.
The attack had kicked up dust and Symon watched it intensely, no one could go unscathed after an attack like that, but his suspicions were that this Animal-human wasn't a normal magick user.
As if confirming his thoughts, his eyes caught a moment in the smoke. "Val duck to the right." He called just as the scorpion tail thrust out. He took the opportunity and armed himself with two pistols. He shot his first bullet at the tail and when the smoke around Dread cleared a little he shot at guy's pants.

The bullet damaged the belt loop and the force sent the little remote flying back.
The dust settled enabling everything to be clear again. Dread was a smirking, there were a few scratches on his face, some burns on his clothes but the ground around him was decorated with wet patches of mud, shards of ice and scortch marks. His cigarette had fallen to the ground at a point. "What an attack, kid." He stepped on the stub crunching it into the ground ad he started moving towards them, "And you cat boy, nice shot."
"Get the key, we'll hold him off." Symon whispered to Egeaus who then ran for the remote. Val and Symon were about to start an attack when the ground began to tremble.
Dread's smirk grew wider, his eyes looking crazed, "Playtime is over boys." Cracks split in the earth, several chains shot out swirling around and striking at anything they could. Their movements were erratic and hard to keep up with. They struck the walls of the buildings beside them and brought down bits of debris.
Val found himself hit by two chains at once sending him into a wall before he could conjure a shield. He coughed as he swatted away the dust and tried to catch a glimpse of what was happening. He felt a warm trickle from his left nostril, he didn't need to be told it was blood. His eyes were fixed on the dancing chains.
He had heard that when Animalia magick was the strongest and purest form of Magick. They could use attributes from any skill class they chose with minimal effort. Not to mention training their powers came much more easier than it was for humans. They had almost no limits, Val could now understand the fear that humans of the past harbored.
No. He couldn't get scared now. He rose shakily to his feet, eyes searching the place for signs that Symon was okay. instead he saw Egeaus Thornhold glaring daggers at dread, blood dripping down behind his dark fringes, a likely guess was that he had been struck by one of the chains. His eyes flash a menacing red.
"I can handle being dragged around by a bunch of children." He growled with undertones of irritation, "But I will not allow a lowlife like you to get away with hitting the first Don of Thornhold." He raised his hand and Val saw the blood on his forehead move, flowing through the air to make a gracious arc resembling the edge of a sharp, blood red blade. It sliced through the air and ruined the chains. "I don't care how powerful you think you are, you need to learn some manners."
"Bring it on grandpa."
"This is terrible." Symon groaned from where he had laid lazily on the ground. Val rushed over to his side. "Jeez, kid, I'm okay. This place on the other hand...is now a dump."
Val would agree, the alley was now damaged in several ways, there were the walls of the tall buildings on either side and not to mention the club. The Restoration squad will have quite a job on their hands.
"Back Egeaus up, I'll get the remote. I have a feeling psycho sister is getting closer." Symon said, he made a low groan of annoyed as he stretched to get feeling back into his body.
"Be careful, Sy." Val said just as the white haired boy ran towards the remote. He turned towards the fight, they had to end things quickly and leave. Their plan was thrown off course when the chains developed spikes on the ends, making them more difficult to get through. Egeaus was too caught up in trying to cut Dread down that he left himself open. Val ran towards him trying to blast the chain behind the Vampire away but he was too late.
The chain embedded itself inside the Vampire with a sickening crunch, blood spurted out and pooled on the ground while Dread cackled. With a wave of his hand, Egeaus was flung unto the main road.
Val went down also as several chains fell unto him, keeping him on the ground and their spikes digging into his flesh as he struggled to break free. A fresh feeling of pain bloomed on every part of his body, but he knew he had do something. He eyes caught sight of a movement in the corner.
Dread was walking towards Symon who was held up by a chain around his waist, other smaller ones were crawling along the white haired boy's boy's. ripping at his clothes and drawing blood.
"Hands off, bastard." Symon growled shooting at Dread who used a chain to smack the gun out his hands.
"It drives me crazy that we have to keep you alive, that mouth of yours might be a real problem for us." He grabbed Symon's face by the cheeks, "Open wide." He chuckled as a chain slithered towards the opening.
"Let him go!" Val screamed still struggling against his bonds, an energy sphere flew from his outstretched hand but was knocked away by one of the chains which then zoomed forward to snack him across the face. A cut opened on his forehead bleeding into his right eye threatening to obscure his vision. "Symon...no...leave him alone..." His head was spinning
"Stop wasting my time." Dread growled squeezing Symon's cheeks more. Symon steadfastly fought back, taking the pain from the cuts without screaming. There was no way in hell he was losing his tongue.
Val struggled to think, he was losing blood, none of his teammates were around and the only other person who could help him was sprawled and bleeding out as well.
'It's up to you.' He told himself, his vision was blurry locked on Symon. He directed the rest of his magick energy into his palm, he had to do this.
"You're quite stubborn." Dread hissed. He snapped his free hand and almost immediately a chain swiped through the air and dug itself into Symon's calf.
He let out a pained cry as his body shook with pain. Before Dread could gloat over his victory, the air turned colder than it already was and a powerful force came forth causing him to stumble back.
The chains shook and crumbled as they turned to dust.
Symon struggled to sit up where he had fallen, his vision swam a bit but he could make out Val's figure approaching them, accompanied by the brief sound of metal hitting the ground. He forced his eyes to focus and that's when he saw it; an obsidian scythe, black as the burnt coals of hell, the curved blade glinting as it caught the moonlight.
Val's eyes seemed to have gotten darker themselves, he wiped the blood from his face, "I told you to let him go." He said eyes locked on Dread who, surprisingly, seemed mildly amused. "Don't blame me when I don't let you go myself."
Dread pulled out a cigarette, about to stick it in his mouth when Val made a slice through the air, it turned to ash between the man's fingers. He scowled, "You just made a terrible mistake."
Val didn't wait for him to attack first, he intended on fully destroying this bastard until the other couldn't walk. No one got away with hurting anyone he cared about.
