Nothingness.

That's what one would usually think when pondering what the borders between worlds look like. And they would be right, the spaces between worlds are simply an expanse of nothingness, so dark and so deep, like an endless void that sucks everything in. 

This is what would happen to a regular species, however as with the case of all things, every race and individual in every world has a higher order. These three powerful species were sculpted by the origin of the universe, The Creator, to make and manage the worlds and their denizens, and they can only be found in the legendary realm of the Nimba Eterna.

The egoistic Gods, the rulers of higher order, the ones who make sure that everything within the world is functioning correctly, and that nothing unseemly has taken root.

The eccentric Celestials, the spiritualists of higher order, the ones who feel and observe the flow of mana through each world's Arcadian Lines, which sustain the life on every world, preventing equilibrium from being disturbed. 

And lastly, the enigmatic Lichs, the guardians of higher order, the ones who are responsible for verifying that borders between and within the worlds themselves do not have any abnormalities that could disturb Eternal Order, the set of laws by which every being in the Nimba Eterna must follow.

For millennia, the residents of the Nimba Eterna and the worlds they take care of have been in a delicate, but enduring balance. However, away from watchful eyes, something ominous was brewing, something no one could prepare for nor expect. The power to stop such a calamity lay in the hands of a certain group of beings, who would eventually become so powerful, that no one could touch them.

This is the story of their rise to the top.
