The first rays of light began to shine through the open-shutter windows of the dusty room. Awoken By the light a young girl up in her bed, rubbing her eyes gently. A long yawn and a stretch later she rose from her bed and got dressed in her only other set of clothes. A faded blue dress and some old sandals. A pendant hung from her neck ; it was a present from her mother. Apparently this pendant, a carved jade eagle, was from when she lived elsewhere. She had said that this pendant would surely be of need to her in the future.

Grabbing a few scraps of bread she left the house. Her mother was always at work early in the morning as she had to travel from this small village to the town of Jincho nearby to work. They didn't own a horse so the girl's mother had to walk the ten mile journey every morning and evening. Thus not being there to make breakfast.

Although she didn't know what her mother did as a job she always thought to herself,'She must be doing good, afterall it is my mother!'. 

The girl thought the world of her mother as she had no friends her age in the village and she had never met her father. 

In truth the girl, for her age, was really pretty with her long purple hair falling halfway down her back and that face that people could fight over. The problem lied in her personality.

Even though she was eight because she has been without friends for so long she thought and pondered about a lot, this allowed her to have a mental age and ability of someone nearing double her age this meant she didn't really want to involve herself with people of 'their'intellect. In short she had a superiority complex towards those around her age, and it was because of this that often caused her to be bullied by the older children in the village.

After a brief walk, she arrived at her favorite place in the whole village; an old birch tree. The girl enjoyed sitting up in the high branches and look down at the landscape before her, letting her hair flutter in the wind while getting lost in her own thoughts. What she most enjoyed about this place was that it was mostly hidden from the rest of the village, allowing her to be alone.

It has one of these times; she was thinking to herself when a group of young people came noisily into the clearing where the tree was located.

"Oi, Li Xue, you brat. Come down and say hello to your older brothers and sisters!", a tall young man with light green hair and appealing features said with a smirk.

This group of people are Li Xue's bullies. They started to pick on her years ago when she showed signs of her advanced intellect and not liking how Li Xue could continue to upstage them that started to bully her to make themselves feel better.

Turning away from her thoughts and not  having the patience to refuse these youths, Li Xue swiftly climbed down the tree to meet the group face to face.

"Why aren't you bowing in apology?", questioned the same young man as before, his smirk growing larger on his face.

"Why should I, Yi Tengfei.",Li Xue replied coldly.

"Why should you? Why not? Your very existence should be apologized for.", Stated the youth Yi Tengfei.

"Wha-!"

Seemingly on a roll Yi Tengfei continued interrupting,"You are filth, a vermin! You and your stupid mother are both trash!", with this the whole group couldn't help to laugh. When it came to Li Xue they felt they could say anything.

A small voice started to speak through the non-stop laughing,"apologize."

"What was that?"

"I said, apoligize.", Li Xue repeated. A tinge of savageness could be heard in her voice. Li Xue could bare being insulted, but would not allow anyone to insult her mother who had looked after her single handedly for eight years.

"No.", Yi Tengfei replied cockily.

The blood rushed to Li Xue's head, she was furious , suddenly she screamed,"APOLIGIZE, NOW!"

As she screamed these words her purple eyes momentarily flashed red. Immediately the whole group of people simultaneously felt a chill run down their spine, the laughing ceased, then in unison they said,"We are extremely sorry", everyone was bowing their heads in shame as if they were truly regretful. This shocked Li Xue greatly  snapping her out of her fury. Never would this group bow to her. Never! Now here they were, every one of them. "What are you doing!?", Li Xue cried inquisitively. In unison they replied, "As you ordered."

What?! As she ordered? But even if this was a joke, it was going way too far!

Nervously Li Xue decided to try out some new things,"Can you sit."

All of the group sat on the ground. "Stand.", the group upon hearing her command stood up again. Li Xue's face was filled with joy. She didn't really understand what was going on but whatever it was it was fun. After telling the group ridiculous commands for the best part of an hour Li Xue eventually had her fill.

"Everyone apart from Yi Tengfei forget about this and leave.", LiXue had decided to try her luck and according to her hunch everyone except Yi Tengfei said,"Yes." Suddenly they showed a blank expression on their faces and turned to leave. As they were leaving Li Xue ordered one final thing,"Oh, and don't bother me again." , and with that everyone except Yi Tengfei left... 

Li Xue's purple eyes seemed to contain a slight hint of red.
