My, my, my, what a stunning morning. The birds are twittering, the cars are honking, and if you listened close enough you could hear people chatting in the background.
Ring..... Ring....... Ring.......
Ah yes, the glorious reminder here to bless us with its existence by telling us that the morning has come and how we must enjoy it. As we are closing in on the alarm we could see an inexperienced young adult slumbering in his dormitory compartment, his blond curly hair leaps as he jerks awake, and his ocean green eyes abruptly open as his mind begins to stir.
Rubbing his eyes he slowly gets up from his mattress and turns the alarm off as he steers towards the bathroom to shower and brush his teeth. Turning on the shower he settles it at a mild temperature making sure it's not excessively cold, and after 8 minutes he finishes and is finally awake and raring to go about his day as he dries himself with his towel, finishing up he wraps himself in a bathrobe and begins to brush his teeth and gargle some mouthwash.
Looking at himself in the mirror you could see he is a handsome young man, his eyes having a light glow, and his hair being curly enough to only cover the top of his forehead, his body was somewhat muscular and athletic with few muscles here and there, his skin was a sunkissed tan type of shade, he was around 5'10 and 6'1.
Exiting the bathroom he heads to get dress in something casual as today is a day of rest or what others call Sunday. Wearing a short-sleeved white shirt with pink flowers, some black sweats, and some white crocs he heads towards the kitchen to have a fruit or 2. Walking towards the couch he sees a blue prompt in front of him but he ignores it as he thinks he's just seeing things, he sits down munching on an apple and considers what he's going to do today.
'I could always go back to the gym to do some boxing practice, but wait, do I need to do any shopping, hmmmmm, I still have some edible food that I could use for dinner but I'll consider it when I finish at the gym, sounds more like a future me problem, or I cou-'
BEEP... BEEP... BEEP.....
With his thought process being stopped by the beep sound he looks around to see what's the problem. Getting up his eyes scan the room left to right till finally, they land on the Blue screen.
The System:
Some humans shall receive a class related to what they specialize in and what the systems sees their potential for.
This is a trial to test the potential of this planet's dominant species' adaptability. Points shall be rewarded for performing feats of merit. Skills, items, and various other things may be purchased with these points.
All humans who have adapted to the system shall receive a 2 hour protection period while those who haven't shall be turned into monsters and taken into a pocket space so that the host can prepare.
There shall be attacks that will happen at noon every day after today, and a counter shall be visible to all living humans which will display the current number of survivors and how long till the next wave.
The system shall come into effect at noon.
Good luck, humans
“What the actual hell, is this real?” Aloe mumbled. Looking at the screen in front of me in disbelief, I tried to dismiss the screen and it worked! Still surprised that it was real I got up and ran towards my phone to check the time. 11:45 was what it read. Running towards my gym bag I grabbed clothing, canned food, and the army knife my Dad gave me before he lost his life in the army. Sadly my mother also died when I was born so I don't know her much aside from the things my dad said about her and apart from that both of them were single children and my grandparents died due to age so effectively I don't have any family to hold onto.
Remembering I was in a hurry I stopped recalling memories and checked the time, looking at my phone I saw that I had a little over 10 minutes, I called most of the people I knew and asked if they got a blue prompt, but out of the 10 people I called only 1 got it, he was a classmate of mine who majored in singing.
Walking outside my dorm, I began walking towards the main building, I was still on the phone talking to my classmate Eric and he told me that he was in the singing class due to him being a major apocalypse reading, he was saying stuff like if he was doing what he liked or what he majored in he might get a stronger class which seemed pretty logical in my opinion.
Seeing that I had 5 minutes left I told him to meet me in the cafeteria when it started so we could make a plan in which he agreed to.
Hanging up I booked it towards the auditorium where it had multiple play props that I could use to my advantage.
Rushing through the hall dodging people I finally made it, looking down at my watch I saw I had a minute left so I rushed down the aisle towards the stage. Currently, it had a somber setting as we were setting up for a play we called Jack the Ripper, thinking about the time I was slowly running out of I looked for anything I could use, finding myself with a dagger, a mask, and a cloak, I could only hope for the best. Looking at the time on my watch I slowly watch the time tick down to 12 o’clock.

Closing my eyes I waited for something huge to happen, being anxious about what was to happen, so I kept my eyes closed for a straight 1 minute just in case
Slowly I cracked my eyes only to see a prompt appear in front of me.

‘Wow, and here I thought it was going to seem more magical, that was pretty disappointing’ Aloe thought. Walking off the set, Aloe headed towards the cafeteria still having the mask, cloak, and dagger on him.
Going through the hallways everything seemed a lot quieter now that it was empty. After a few turns here and there Aloe made it outside the building and went straight to campus, while on the street I was looking around for people but all I could see were a few leaves moving on by, the sound of splashing entered my ears as a fountain came into view.
3 buildings stood in front of me as I finally entered the campus, heading through the doors I went to the main cafeteria since that was the place me and my classmate agreed on.
Getting closer I could hear people arguing about something which I didn't care enough to listen to. Going through the doors I made it into the cafeteria only to have around 35 people look at me, feeling a little flustered I looked around the room to see my classmate Eric Clapton sitting at a table, walking under everyone's gaze I head toward Eric as I gave everyone a little wave.
“So what's with the outfit” the tone had popular girl written all over it as I looked to see a brown-haired blue-eyed white girl looking at me with a threatening stare as her little posse backed her up. “That’s for me to know and for you to guess” I replied plainly looking away towards Eric as I was disinterested in whatever they were talking about and I just didn't want to put myself in it.“S-so what are we gonna do a-about this wave in 2 hours?” a skinny kid questioned
They began speaking again about it which then broke into another argument.
Looking towards Eric I gave him a suggestion ”Why don't we go to that church up on the hill a few miles out it's pretty durable and we could see all around the church from its bell tower.”
His face said everything he was thinking as he began to ponder, “Sounds like a good idea, but we should make sure that we have enough supplies to be able to last long there”.
Thinking about it, I suppose that was reasonable, “Alright, start packing everything up so we could go” I reasoned. “We can't, we have to bring everyone here to safety as it's aways safer with a group” Eric replied.
“Alright, we have to do something, how about you begin packing everything up and I go to the church to claim it before anyone else does”, Eric looks at me like I'm crazy, “We can't do that either, nobody knows what the first wave is going to be like, it's basically insane to be alone when it happens, let's go with the first plan and go together with everyone.”
Thinking about it I felt it did seem pretty dumb for only 2 people to defend such a big building. I began going through the motions and finally began to act out the plan. People were still arguing so I had to do something to get their attention so I stood up on the chair, and I cupped my hands around my mouth.
“EVERYONE SHUT UP”
I shouted so loud that my voice echoed through the entire cafeteria effectively shutting everyone up and making them look towards me.
Nobody made a single peep as they looked at me, taking a deep breath as Iooked from one side of the crowd to the other.
"The world is basically ending, I get it, but that doesn't mean everyone has to go batshit crazy about it, from what I've seen outside most people have been taken making us some of the many that stayed on earth, I don't know how society is going to function but right now we have to join together and get to a safe a defendable place in which we could survive this first wave." Taking another breath I look towards the silent crowd seeing that most of them were nodding and agreeing with what I said.
"So who's going to lead us" a person asked out loud. Thinking about what I just said it would've been most logical for me the one to lead but I never had the experience of leading people.
The crowd started to rile up as they began asking who should lead. I looked into the crowd as I thought of a solution to help me out. I searched the crowd hoping to find a answer to the problem when I saw my public speaking teacher, he was around his 60's having a average height of 5'9, his name was Greg Westfield, he never had favorites in class as he was stern with all the students in the college, some even nicknamed him 'The Warden'.
Opening my mouth I give a little force in my voice,"Everyone quiet down, can Mr. Westfield come to the front". A few gasps come from a few people as they whisper his nickname to the people around them, "Make way everyone, I need some space to move" Greg spoke loudly enough for them to hear. People began moving as they formed a path for Mr. Westfield, walking with a mean scowl on his face he made his way towards me.
" Mr. Xander, what exactly do you need from me" he loudly asked, looking at his face I saw that he didn't want to be bothered but currently I needed a solution and I knew this man here was very observative, "Um, I need some help choosing a Leader for the group", for a few seconds he looked at me making me look away to not meet his eyes.
"Why don't you become the Leader young Xander" he asked like a old monk, looking back at him my mind was in turmoil as it flooded with reasons of why I shouldn't be the leader, of course I wasn't going to tell him that I doubted myself I came up with something more simple, "Well I believe that we should have someone of good character and leadership experience to lead us as we would be more efficient that way", he looks at me for a few seconds before he grunts and looks towards the crowd.
"Jade Wonka, please come to the front", still in my thoughts Mr. Westfield called some on out. Hmmm, I wonder who this Jade Wonka is, isn't he the star quaterback for our football team, The Chicks, though the true question is who gave our team that shitty name. Coming out of my daze a guy around 5'7 came out the crowd....
Holy crap isn't that the nerd that was stuttering when I came in?
"This boy is going to be our leader", he paused as he looked into the crowd who gave him a questioning gaze, "From the first time I saw him he has been playing multiple group games that require precise coordination. Even more this man has been leading over 500 people online acquring multiple wins against larger groups". Learning this new info made me respect Jade a little more since I knew that he was somewhat quilified to be leader, after a few more words the crowd began forming teams to get supplies as quick as possible since just talking we wasted around 30 minutes.
Honestly, I just hoped we make it to the church early so we could fortify it.
