Solomon Vs Ama

Ama slowly walked out of the tavern and saw Solomon standing up from the ground and dusting himself off. “I’m surprised you’re still alive after that. You’re tougher than you look.”

Solomon looked at her with a confused expression. “Why are we talking? This is a fight.”

“...I was just trying to compliment you. You don’t have to be so rude.”

Solomon closed his eyes and nodded his head. “I see. So I suppose it’s customary to compliment your opponent during a fight.”

“...I guess.”

“Well then, I congratulate you for taking this attack so well.”

“What attack?”

“This one.”

Solomon ran towards Ama and she lashed out with her tongue but he disappeared before she could hit. ‘Was that magic?!’

Solomon reappeared behind her and hit Ama in the back with his left elbow. ‘No, it’s not magic. He’s just that fast!’

Ama tried to counterattack by lashing out again but Solomon jumped up. While in the air, he spun around and kicked her in the face with his right leg. Once he landed on the ground, Solomon hit Ama with a left uppercut.Next he hit her with a spinning kick right into the ground.

After delivering some solid hits on his opponent, Solomon hopped away from Ama as she quickly got up and looked at him with anger.

‘I hit her with the full intent of knocking her out but she’s still standing.Actually it looks like I barely did any damage at all. I have to hit her even hard-Hmm, what’s that?’

Solomon noticed something sticky on his hands and shoes. It was something that all frog beastfolk had, mucus. It mostly depended on the individual but the mucus could protect them from something as small as a knife cut to a full powered attack from a high level mage. Solomon had no idea what the mucus did but he still came to the conclusion that he just had to hit her even harder than before.

He disappeared again and tried to hit her again. ‘Something’s wrong, why isn’t she trying to counterattack?’ Solomon’s fist connected with Ama’s stomach but he couldn't pull it out after. His hand was stuck. This was another application of the mucus that older and more experienced frog beastfolk could use. By predicting where Solomon would hit, Ama focused all the mucus on her body and gathered it at one point. The mucus enveloped Solomon’s hand and prevented him from escaping.

Taking advantage of the opportunity, Ama launched a furious assault of punches all targeted towards Solomon’s head. However on her twentieth punch, Solomon used his free hand to grab her hand.

Solomon raised his head and smiled. The fever had kicked in and it lit a fire within him. A fire that could only be fueled from the euphoria of a good fight. When Ama saw that smile, fear crept into her heart.

Solomon pulled his head back and slammed it into hers. This time it was clear that she had taken damage. There was a trickle of blood flowing from her mouth.

Solomon brought his fist back and readied a punch but before his fist could connect, Ama recalled her mucus to cover her entire body and freed Solomon’s hand. With his hand free, Solomon stepped back. He wasn’t entirely sure about the power Ama had but he knew that he had to time his attacks properly otherwise he would get stuck again.

Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.

‘I don’t really get it but there’s some sort of protective film around her. When it’s spread out she barely takes any damage and when it’s clumped together most of her body is vulnerable. The problem is that there’s one spot that traps her opponent when they hit her. The film moves fast so I have to be careful of when and where I hit her.’

Solomon did a few warm up exercises. He hopped around a bit,did some neck stretches, a few squats and finally some jumping jacks. Then Solomon clapped his cheeks.

The entire time Solomon was warming up, Ama could only watch in anticipation of what he would do next. ‘What the hell is he doing?’

After clapping his cheeks, Solomon vanished. ‘That again? Has he not learnt anything in our fight so far?’

Ama felt some wind blow against her. She moved in the direction of the wind but saw nothing there. Then she heard footsteps behind her and turned again to see nothing there. Ama’s eyes darted around the place trying to catch a glimpse of Solomon but it was pointless.

Suddenly an empty beer bottle hurtled towards her head at a very high speed. Ama gathered her mucus on her head to shield herself from the bottle. The bottle landed safely into the mucus but the moment it did, Ama felt something else collide into her back at high speed and it launched her into the air. Ama turned and saw that it was Solomon. While she was distracted by the bottle he threw, Solomon had run around building up speed and charged into her with his full body.

While she was still airborne, Solomon ran after her. Ama coiled her tongue in her mouth and spat it out like a spear. Solomon barely managed to dodge it and Ama’s tongue grazed past his cheek. A few drops of blood trickled out from the wound the tongue had caused.

Ama crashed into the ground next to a mountain of beer bottles. She decided to copy the trick Solomon had just used. She used her tongue to grab five beer bottles and threw them all at Solomon. Then she picked up another five bottles and threw them again. While he dodged the onslaught of bottles, Solomon slowly closed the distance between them.

He was just a few feet away from her when she pulled her head back. ‘Is she going to try that piercing tongue attack again? It’s too fast for me to dodge this close.’

Solomon knew that he couldn’t dodge her attack so he covered his chest with his arms and braced himself for her attack. ‘What an idiot, why bother trying to cover your chest if your head is wide open!’

Ama’s tongue shot out towards Solomon’s forehead. The moment it hit would be Solomon’s loss and Ama’s victory. However, he had been expecting that and intentionally baited her into attacking his head.

Solomon jumped a few inches into the air. The tongue that had been heading for his forehead was now heading towards his mouth. He opened his mouth wide and the moment Ama’s tongue went right in, he bit down hard. The pain Ama felt was unimaginable and due to that pain she wasn’t able to focus.

With his teeth clamping down on her tongue, Solomon spun his head and threw her into the nearby mountain of bottles. The glass broke and dug into her body. Then Solomon spat out the part of her tongue that he had torn off during the throw.

Still wary, Solomon waited patiently for her next move but it never came. He walked to where Ama was and saw her with her hands covering her face.

“What’s wrong? Aren’t you going to fight anymore?”

“You expect me to fight after all that?! I’d rather die.”

“I see, I guess our fight is over then.”

“Huh? You’re not going to kill me?”

“Fighting is the one thing I enjoy and there’s no fun to be had in fighting an opponent that doesn’t want to fight anymore.”

Solomon turned and walked back to the tavern before suddenly stopping in his tracks.

“Oh yeah, I almost forgot. That was a great fight, you're tougher than you look.”
