Devon took off the blindfold and looked around, he was in an alley... He immediately reached downwards and felt for his coin pouch, it was where it always was

His coin pouch was bulging from the loot he scored from the dead guards back on the road, he felt bad he didn't tell garcia about it, levi knew though... Being a citizen, he knew this place like the back of his hands and immediately headed into the streets to find garcia and jonas, the dwarf said they were released yesterday... He decided to buy a few things and stopped at a shop

An old man walks out from behind the counter

"i want to buy a cloak, a dagger and a..."

"devon..." the old man says and squints his eyes

"mr. Lekan"

"devon my boy, how nice to see you..."

"really?? Cause the last time you made it pretty clear you didn't see me" devon says sarcastically

"i have done things i'm not proud of, my boy..." lekan says

"you and me both" devon says and lowers his head

The old man embraces him and chuckles

"i thought i'd never see you again"

"i"m sorry ,mr. Lekan"

"it's okay, my boy; come home with me for dinner"

"i don't... I don't know if it's okay"

"come on, let me close up shop"

Mr. Lekan locks up his shop with three different padlocks and then mutters a spell and devon raises an eyebrow

"there's a lot of thieves around these parts" mr lekan says answering his unasked question

"you'd think with all the guards, theft would be the least of your problem" lekan says and scoffs; he then glances at Devon's coin pouch and says

"you might want to enchant that, or you're going to be a walking target"

Devon looks at his coin pouch

Devon tosses his coin pouch to lekan and he catches it in mid air, muttering a word he tosses it back to devon who looks surprised as the pouch is now visibly lighter

"you're a warlock now??"

"nah, necromancer"

"oh"

Devon looks at him surprised

"we should go, it's getting dark" Lekan says and starts to walk away and Devon follows

It's high moon when they arrive at lekans manor, he takes down a ward and invites devon in, devon inhales once he steps into the manor and he takes off his sandals and places them on the shoe rack when a servant walks into the main hall

"mr lekan, miss deski is at home, she wants to see you at once"

"i'm on my way" lekan says and the servant leaves

"miss deski??" devon glances at lekan uncertainly

"oh yeah, she's gonna want to see you; come on" lekan says and turns and starts to walk away but pauses when he notices devon isn't following him

"mr lekan, i don't know if i should..."

"devon my boy, i thought we were past that mr. Thing, its just lekan and its going to be okay"

"okay"

Lekan turns and walks further into the manor and devon follows at his heels, eyes darting around

After a while devon breaks the silence

"do you think she'd want to see me again"

"to be fair, i have no idea" lekan says and stops in front of a door, he breathes in and out before knocking on the door

"come in" a girl says from behind the door

Its a lavishly furnished room with a painting of a woman on one of the walls, blood stains are on the carpet and in the middle of the room stands a girl, chocolate skinned and dressed in full body armor, she had sleek black hair and the fiercest brown eyes which fell on devon and he shuffled his feet nervously

"what is he doing here???" she asks and narrows her eyes at him

"i... Deski... " Devon stutters

"don't call me that" she hisses

"so i'll ... leave you two to it" lekan says and disappears through the door

"deski, i'm sorry"

"are you really?"

"yes, i swear"

"i want believe you, i really do"

"she lied to me, she lied to all of us"

"i trusted you, i trusted you!!!; even after you found out she was lying, you still left with her..."

"i couldn't stay"

"why are you here?"

"your dad invited me over"

"no, why are you here, in this city?"

"i'm looking for a few friends"

"i'll help you find them, once you find them, you leave"

"listen to me, you leave and you don't come back"

"get out ... get out of my room!!!" deski screeches and throws a dagger at him sobbing, devon dodges the dagger which lodges in the wall and he backs away as she crumples to the floor, sobbing
