Illusion Training Array Part 2

Illusion Training Array Part 2

“I guess I can push this a bit on a harder scale. We will move to rank three demonic beasts….” Elder Nishikawa adjusted the array so it would not start spawning rank three demonic beasts.

Yuki had just finished killing a group of rank two armored rhinos when a single rank three suddenly spawned. It was two times the size of the other armored rhino and charged at her with incredible speed. A small smile formed on her lips as she licked them wet and began dashing around in the air striking the spots between the armor shell, her blade finding its mark every time.

“Time to finish it!” Yuki whispered as she sheeted her sword and drew it out at an astonishing speed. The blade seemed to ignore all defense and sliced through the armored rhino’s neck, severing its head.

“AWOOO!” A loud howl filled the area causing Yuki to turn to see multiple rank three wind wolves racing towards her.

“I won’t end up like last time!” Yuki did not hesitate to charge into the group of wind wolves. Her katana flowed like water as it avoided the claws that tried to block it and severed a few limbs and even a tail. The entire fight took only ten seconds, but Yuki was not happy at all. “I need to move faster, I know I can push my techniques to the limits!”

More wind wolves spawned, but this time it was ten of them. Yuki wasted no time pushing forward. Trying to get her speed to increase to its max. “Faster! Faster!” Yuki was trying to push herself above her limits and then break them so she could try to break them again!

Elder Nishikawa’s eyes almost fell out of her head as she watched Yuki’s ability to keep pushing forward. She was growing stronger right in front of her. “I will try to increase it once more. She needs a proper challenge.”

With how fast Yuki was killing rank three demonic beasts, Elder Nishikawa decided that just raising the skill level once would not be enough. “Try a rank five lightning tiger!”

*Roar!*

A loud roar filled the air. Yuki, who had just finished killing the last of the wind wolves, turned to see a huge demonic beast that she had never seen before. It was five times as tall as her. She could tell it was a tiger, but she did not know what kind. But she could feel her hair starting to stand up on end.

“Yuki, that is a rank five lightning tiger. Test your prowess against it and see how far you can get. If you can defeat it, I will spawn two!” Elder Nishikawa’s words filled the air causing Yuki’s eyebrow to twitch. She wondered why her master was trying to kill her.

Yuki knew she had no choice in the matter, so she could only fight with everything she had. She took a deep breath and charged forward. Or so she thought…. The lightning tiger turned into a beam of light and was already upon her just as she went to step forward. The sudden arrival of an enemy startled her, causing her to have to use evasive maneuvers.

She quickly sprang into the air, but unfortunately for her, the lightning tiger stuck to her like glue. Each time she went to jump away, she was forced to dodge the huge claw that was already coming down at her. The back and forth continued on. Yuki dodged while the lightning tiger continued to attack. Every so often, she was able to get a counter in, but it was not an easy task, and the fact that she was being pushed around like this did not make her happy in the slightest!

But she also knew this was not bad training. Even if she could not kill this thing, the idea of being able to use this chance to try to force herself to her limits time and time again until she was able to become faster than the lightning tiger was worth the danger.

Two hours passed, and Yuki was still playing tag with the lightning tiger as she tried to refine her abilities to the max. Nana had come over to see what was going on, and her eyes widened when she saw Yuki running circles around the lightning tiger. “This….”

“She can’t beat it. She is not strong enough. But her speed is incredible. Her movement technique is really being put to good use in many ways. She can use it to maneuver almost instantly in mid air and change directions while still trying to get an attack in. She can stand up, side down or climb higher in the air, but she is fighting it head on making good use of her body’s natural flexibility. To be honest, I do not even think she is using the sky rank technique anymore. Her movements are too refined. It is as if she had created a new technique based on the original that fits her combat style more. If she keeps refining it, then she will have a movement technique that only she is capable of using.” Elder Nishikawa explained. “Sorry, Nana, I should have been over to oversee your training too, but I ended up spending most of my time here.”

“It’s fine. This is just incredible. While I am slowly working on learning my sword technique and movement technique. Yuki is already creating techniques for herself….. I need to go train more…” Nana did not even wait for Elder Nishikawa to say anything. Her fighting spirit flamed up. She did not wish to be left behind!
