The Saga of Water: Chapter 0

It’s hard to believe that everything I ever knew could slip through my very fingers. I was always a positive person who believed in giving life everything he had no matter the cards that have been dealt.

But, no matter how you cut it… there is no way to benefit from this. This is the end of the road for me. I’m losing everything. Everything that was handed to me and everything I worked hard for. Heh.

I feel betrayed. That’s the only word I can think of right now that deeply expresses what I’m feeling. Betrayed by my family… the people I helped. My cousin, but most importantly the world…

Why me? Of all people, this could have happened to me? Why me? What did I do to deserve this? I only wanted to bring positivity into other people’s lives. I wanted the best for everyone and myself…

Was I asking for too much? Did I expect too much? After all of the people I helped… I’m here alone. They all turned their backs on me when I needed them the most. Nobody would listen to me.

Did they see me as this kind of monster? The kind of monster that could do something like that? I did everything in my power to defend him… it’s not my fault that he died. There was nothing we could have done.

And my cousin… why would he lie on me like that…? After everything, we’ve been through. Did that mean nothing to him? He was like a brother to me.

Stolen content warning: this tale belongs on Royal Road. Report any occurrences elsewhere.

It was dark now. All the inmates were already escorted to their cells. The former noble was resting within his and would have to get used to his new life as a prisoner. But, how could one get used to this harsh life after living a pampered life?

He was afraid and alone. They wouldn’t have any mercy on him especially knowing that he belonged to the Blackburn family. They would all be gunning for him because the people here had resentment for the noble family.

A soft sigh left his lips. He was leaning back against the corner of the wall with his legs slightly spread out and his hands resting on the cold, damp ground. His royal blue hair covered parts of his face and looked rather unkempt.

A man who once wore fresh and elegant clothes was now dressed in prison rags. A very simple white jumpsuit that formed against his average-sized build.

His hand soon balled up into a fist and soon started striking the ground. Images flooded his mind as he thought about when he first arrived at this prison. Everyone stared at him like he was a lost lamb coming to the slaughter. Their eyes judged him ferociously without even knowing a damn thing about him.

They were probably bored here and would have nothing better to do than to plot on his downfall. With how evil they were they would probably take great pleasure in making him feel like shit. People like this were truly disgusting.

But before at least he could reduce the interaction between people like these now he was completely at their mercy and he knew he couldn’t put his trust in the guards that were employed to watch over them.

How would he survive this? He wasn’t confident in his ability honestly. His soul took a huge hit and now he was just in a bad mood all around. He could barely move his heavy body from the corner of this room.

What was the point? No one believed him… and he was cut off from his family without anyone even coming to his aid. Remembering this caused him to release a soft pant before he curled his body into a ball, wrapping himself up as he laid in the fetal position.

One thing was certain… if he survived this then he would dedicate his life to the only thing that mattered: revenge. He was still in shock, so his anger couldn’t completely manifest, but believe that he was seething right now.

If I survive… I swear I’ll find a way to ruin you forever… That’s a promise.
