And so it was that the First Childrens of the Old Gods became enamored with the Freedom of Mortality. It festered in the Immortal mind and their hearts turned to jealousy and their souls learned to hate. Envy had become Abhorrence; Mortality was an Abomination to be scoured away.

And so it was that the First Childrens of the Old Gods brought violence against their Mortal Children whose only sin was to be born Free. Freedom and Stagnation clashed, only one was to survive. The Old Gods embraced their First Children and joined their horrible purpose and all seemed lost for Mortality.

And so it was in those final moments of desperate Resignation, Aurora and her Gallants Eight took up the Nine Swords, magnificent blades capable of cutting down even a God. Stagnant immortality folded and ran and died, none could stand before their Fury, even the Eldest of Sovereigns.

And so it was the Gallants Nine brought the Wrath of Mortality to the Hall of the Old Gods, emerging drenched in their Divinity and they became Ascendent Numen. Mortality had triumphed and the Glory of the Ennead had only just begun.
