Prologue 1 – Prophecy On The Palace

YGGDRASIL YEAR 1624, MONTH 11, DAY 17

When the morning came, a woman with a bedgown woke up from the bed. Her eyes are still sleepy, but she immediately looks at the crystal ball that she put on the bed table. Once she woke up, she went to the bathroom to wash herself using water that she collected from the well on her house. Once done taking a bath, she wears her signature fortune teller dress with a white and blue pattern. The whites are in four directions straight, while the blue is in four diagonal directions. The dress also has some small hole that exposes her cleavage. Her height is normal like the other girls, around 176cm, but her body was very splendid for a young age. She looks like 20 years old woman, but her look can be deceiving especially with her blue eyes and black hair.

That fortune-teller is called Shina. She is known as the fortune teller that told the precise future insight itself. Many people have come to ask for their fortune in the future. Due to this immense request, Shina places a high price. Even some are still attempting to kidnap her, Shina can still defend herself with her magic.

Many of her customers are satisfied with this, and some are also complaining about it. Shina already warns them that her prophecy never misses, be it fortune or even a misfortune for those who wish for her to read their fortune. Those who don’t have money have to take the trial set by her. Many are dying trying to get her prophecy, but some are giving up and living for another day.

There are rumors that Shina lives eternally as most of her customers had died due to natural causes which most of them died because of old age. She recognizes some of her customer’s descendants, and because of that reason, Shina has to move from one place to another. Many send messages, practically through oral messages or mails from messengers or birds to send it. For Shina herself, she never feels satisfied since she hasn’t found other purposes besides reading other people’s prophecies. She intends to seek the secret behind her ability and wants to know why she has been selected to wield such ability.

One day when she is not on business, as usual, Shina takes time to read herself. She wants to know what is her future will be. She chants some spell to hear what is her own future doing, and she listens to it. The crystal ball starts glowing, and she can see that herself is with someone wearing armor and sovereign uniform, which she expects was a Noble but most likely a King of the country.

“Would you please show me a certain Kingdom for me?”

“As your wish, your majesty.”

She starts to view the Kingdom itself with her magic power to power up the fountain. The King looks at how the royal family and nobles are trying to please him by sending gifts, but on the other side, people continue to appeal that the Kingdom is facing a crisis. He was not satisfied with the current issues that happened in that Kingdom. He saw starvation, shortage of supplies, and people are struggling to survive. Sighing, he signaled, and the fountain stopped seeing it.

“I can’t continue the relationship further if it goes like this..”

“What are you going to do, Your Majesty?”

Looking at her, he thinks of something and finally sets out an order for her.

“Dispatch some supplies to those who need it, and Nobles must not be allowed to have it. If I found that either they raid it or make regulations that the people have to present it to them, form a raid team to fetch their treasury.”

“As you command, your majesty.”

Shina leaves the room and returns to her office room to do some paperwork.

When she saw herself in the future, she was curious about it. Deep in her mind, she asks herself why she has been chosen as King’s advisor, and what was that fountain in the future? She thinks about it, and she believes that she becomes such because she was clearly indebted to him and can only be paid by serving him. She looks at the crystal again, and it seems it will happen around thirty years later, judging by the calendar in her office room.

She starts to track it back to where he resides and who he is now, but when she tracks herself in eighteen years to twenty-five years in the future, she cannot find anything as something obstructs her view for that year. Regardless of any attempt she made, she cannot track nor see it, leading to her curiosity. She can see every timeline’s future, but why she cannot see her own future in the next eighteen to twenty-five years later. It makes her wonder why she cannot see such a future ahead while clearly seeing everyone else’s future.

Determined to find the person she will serve, she starts to pack her stuff up and prepare to move her carriage house to where she can find it. When she was about to cast her spell to depart, suddenly someone knocked on her door. Curious, she went to the front door and opened it. When she looks outside, it turns out that Scharlwalrtz Kingdom’s emissary is visiting her, and they came under Scharlwalrtz Kingdom’s orders judging by Kingdom’s royal court emblem.

The Kingdom of Scharlwarltz royal court emblem was two crowned Valkyries pointing their spear to the sky, with three wings spread on their back.

“We would like you to come with us, Madam Shina.”

“What kind of business the Scharlwarltz Kingdom want with me?”

“Her Majesty, Luciana Scharlwarltz wants you to read the fortune of her child that she’s carrying now. Her Majesty has already prepared the payment for you, Madam Shina.”

If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the violation.

Shina was curious about it, but why do they want her to read the fortune of Queen of Scharlwarltz right now, and why the Queen wants her to read the child’s fortune that she’s still carrying? Can’t she wait until she gave birth to her daughter?

“It’s a quite unusual request, but..”

After some consideration, she finally takes the job. She has to postpone her journey later. Wearing her gloves, she is ready for departure.

“Let us depart then.”

The carriage is already prepared for her, and once she is on board, the carriage sets up the destination to the capital of Scharlwarltz Kingdom, Ancardia. When departing, the pegasus flaps their wings and soar at the sky towards the destination—the carriage lands on the border between land and sky island, Juno. Juno has been a center of the trades for ages, and it has become the center of the event hosted by the Kingdom of Scharlwarltz. It’s also the border town that would lead to the capital, Ancardia. Passing through the border land itself and advancing through the bridge made by clouds, Shina and the group arrive at Ancardia.

In the capital itself, the females are fighting each other on the training ground. Some have their wings on their backs when fighting other females, or some males train their children. Shina sees it as a common thing because this country originally belongs to the Valkyries, a female race that every people in this world noted as a War Maiden. For thousands of years, Scharlwarltz Kingdom has become one of the most powerful Kingdoms in history. They possess superior military might due to air superiority. They are also the most recommended kingdom to process raw materials into goods to sell on the market aside from the Metron Kingdom. Merchants often gather to purchase goods and sell the raw materials to them as the city of Juno becomes bustling with activities.

The Scharlwarltz Kingdom is also known as Protector of Yggdrasil, as it protects this world from being invaded by otherworld creatures that cause chaos in this world. A unique fact is every child was born inside the Capital town of Ancardia was female. In Juno, males can be born, but they do not inherit Valkyrie’s trait.

After venturing through the capital road, the group reaches the area where only nobles are residing. It was seen through the noble attire on the building as Shina looked at the district from the carriage. Eventually, the carriage enters the Royal Palace of Ancardia. The palace was built on top of the floating rocks as it could become a natural flying fortress should the bridges be raised.

The carriage stops once it arrives at the palace’s front, and the emissary goes out from the carriage.

“Please wait here, Madam.”

Shina nodded while the emissary went into the palace to report about Shina’s arrival. Once she returns, she opens the door for her, and she will guide her to the inner palace.

“Please come this way, madam Shina.”

Leading into the castle, Shina saw the interior of the palace. It has been changed a lot since her last visit. She remembers she visited this place when she was chosen as the recipient of the Phoenix Preservation, one that was chosen by Queen of Scharlwarltz to gain eternal life as it already happened over five centuries ago. However, Shina is still aware that eternal life does not guarantee she will always live as some of the recipients are killed and hunted by some kingdoms. She already knew their motive as they wished to extract the blessing and use it for themselves. So far, none has succeeded.

Reaching the audience room, the emissary reports directly to the Queen sitting on the throne wearing a long white robe, announcing her arrival. “The Fortune Teller Shina has arrived” The Ministers bows to her, and she bows to Queen of Scharlwarltz that was sitting on the throne. Shina looks at the pregnant Queen, and she believes that it is the person the Queen wants to read. She bows to her, reporting that she is ready for reading of her unborn child’s fortune.

“Fortune Teller Shina is ready for the reading, Your Majesty.”

“Yes, please read what do you see and one more thing..”

Shina looks at her curiously. What is the other thing that she wanted?

“Please tell me honestly, and if you want only to be between us during reading, just tell me.”

“Yes, your majesty.”

Giving a table and chair, Shina puts her crystal ball into the table, and she starts reading the future of the Queen’s child. She carefully read it one by one, but suddenly, she felt surprised as what she could see was something that she could not believe with her own eyes.

“Again...? Why can’t I read it..?”

“Is something wrong?”

Shina looks at her, and she tries to dig in about the future of The Queen’s unborn daughter. Whenever she tries to search for it, she can see the moment from childhood to coming of age; however, she cannot see the future ahead of it when she encounters someone on the land. The only one that she can see during seven years of unread prophecy is a huge battle that the Princess decided to do something critical.

“Your Majesty... I will tell you what I can see it now.”

“Go ahead.”

Shina finally nodded and told what she could find as she took a breath calmly.

“I cannot see the future ahead when she is on the ground. In the future, I can see that there will be a huge battle at Mount Mjolnir, near the entrance to Juno.”

She starts trembling when reading it.

“I... I cannot see any more details of it..”

Looking at her, Luciana thinks of something. She wants to verify something, but she wants to know if Shina wants to let the ministers hear it or only for her and Shina.

“Can I please speak with your majesty alone?”

Nodded, the ministers and the guards leave the audience room at Shina’s request. Once the hall was clear, Luciana stood up and went to her, and she wanted to ask Shina personally for what she saw.

“What do you see in your own future, dear Shina?”

“I receive the same thing, blankness for that seven years timeline..”

“Is it the same for us, including me?”

“Most likely, your Majesty. I will do reading first.”

Shina starts to read Luciana’s future, and as she was expected, she cannot read the seven years of prophecy as well. Reaching some conclusion, Shina looks at her and tells what she can see.

“It looks like we will play some important role, your Majesty. A role that we cannot even read on this crystal ball.”

“What does that mean, Shina? I never see you hit a case like this.”

“Yes, this is the first case that I handle. Perhaps those who are involved or play some critical role, I cannot read it.”

Aware of this, Luciana wants to know what kind of future awaits them. She starts to wonder if Shina’s word is true, and if it’s true, then she has to prepare for everything for the seven years event that would come in the future. She didn’t want to be concerned about it too much as the expected delivery would be around two months.

“Alright, Shina, thank you for the prophecy for my daughter. I will get something underway, and when I need you, I will call you right away.”

“Yes, Your Majesty.”

Upon returning home, Shina cannot hide her uneasiness. Somehow, why The Goddess of Fate, Uror, did not want to give a guide regarding this blessing. Shina is one of the recipients, with the authority to read all fates of every citizen from the World of Yggdrasil. Somehow, she could not read her own future, let alone Queen of Scharlwarltz Luciana and the unborn daughter.

“What’s happening to this world?”

Shina determines to seek the answer, as somehow her goddess did not give any clear prophecy on what happened in eighteen to twenty-five years.
