There was a small mountain located to the west of the Heaven Realm; it was the farthest to the west where there was less visitors and where many lowly immortals lived. That place is full of low immortals who had hard time cultivating powers. There, lie a young girl in her 18, lying on the grass looking up at the bright sun and sky. She was observing and carefully looking at the surrounding area and sigh of boredom.
‘Hello everyone, I am Mo Hua, people called me Ya Nu, or Chenmo because I am a mute. I cannot speak but I can only speak to myself in my head. Not many people understands me nor care about me. Most people in this mountain doesn’t give me trouble, but in other areas, people are not as kind,’ she sigh. She sat up and walked back to the pavilion where her master live but all they know is everyday their master is nowhere to be seen so a lot of them just stay there being idle all day.
There was no way they can cultivate as we have the less rich ground where herbs does not grow. To get herbs, they will have to go to other mount and valleys to gather herbs for cultivation. Ever since she’ve known, she grew up in the mount with many people who are like her, but a little weird. They don’t care much about cultivation, they just want to have a nice easy life until the day they are no more.
She walked over to the table and saw Manhua, an acquaintance, sitting, playing chess with another girl called Cai Yan. They are all low immortals that nobody give a damn about but they were never greedy for powers. They just want to enjoy their day everyday with no headache but their master gave them headache as she was nowhere to be seen everyday. She does not teach them anything beside writing and drinking. They do not drink but at least they can read and write, oops no, she can only write.
She sat next to Cai Yan and smiles waving at her. Cai Yan looks at her and she looks annoyed saying, “You give me bad luck Mohua, now look, I am losing when you’re here,” she snorted and turn away. Mohua just laugh silently. The good thing about this place is they called Mohua by her name and not any other name. She is thankful for that.
Suddenly, a paper crane pop up and landed on the table. It was a paper crane sent from their master. Mohua catch the crane and the crane suddenly disappear with a voice popping up as a message, “I need at least two of you to report to the palace to help find the god of war. He is currently missing for 3 days after the war. One of you are to stay in case you see the god of war so you can report whenever you see him pass by.”
With that message, two of her acquaintances stop playing their game and turn to Mohua and said, “You stay! This could be our only chance to see the god of war! If you see him send us a message right away!” With that, they left the hall leaving Mohua all alone.
Mohua don’t know why but as soon as they left, she felt… lonely. She can’t speak, but with them here arguing everyday keeping her accompany is really nice. It makes her feel like she was never alone. When they left, she was a little disappointed but she knew they’d be back soon so she wasn’t worried.
After they left she decided to go down the mountain to where the spring is to get water in case they get thirsty when they’re back.
To her surprise, when she got to the riverbank by the spring, she saw a body in the water! She panic, she didn’t know what to do. She looks around and didn’t see anyone. She slowly approaches the body and flip the body over and to her surprise… it was a very handsome man that is unconscious. Her heart skips a beat, but then she takes a second look, he looks quite familiar. Then she remembered it’s the God of War, Zhang Tianheng! She was shock with panic, she quickly drag him by the shoulder out of the water and feels his pulse.
Thank god, he was still breathing. She placed her hand on his chest and pressed on his chest a few times before he started spitting out water. She saw him slowly open his eyes and saw Mohua. Mohua wave her hand at him and realize he is now conscious. She wanted to speak so bad but nothing comes out. So ashamed of her disability, she turn and started to walk away.
“Wait!” He called out to her and grab onto her hand. Then he fell back down and fainted again. Mohua caught him but they both fell back to the ground. It was helpless as he was so heavy. She heave a sigh of relief.
She push him aside and started to start a fire and prepare a meal for him when he wakes up. His face was so handsome. It makes her feel so warm and dreamy. She couldn’t take her eyes off of him even when she cooked she tried to make sure it doesn’t burn just for him. She made him porridge as that is all they have left at this mountain.

She wrote a message to Caiyan and Manhua to hurry back as she have found the God of War. At this moment, Zhang Tianheng was sleeping aside. He slowly came around and asks in a very light and weak voice, “Where is this… place? Where am I?” He asks her but she don’t know what to do or say. She can’t even open her mouth. She was put in a tight spot. She just bit her lips tightly shut and turn away.
She quickly summon a bowl and a spoon and scoop porridge out of the pot and hand it to him silently. He sat up and looks at her. He takes the bowl and smile, “Thank you for saving my life, may I ask what is your name?” His voice sounded so calm and cool it gives her warmth. She don’t know how to answer him this is when her two acquaintances came and answer it for him. It was Caiyan whom answers, “Her name is Mohua.” They came to sit around the fireplace. Mohua, feeling ashamed, excused herself and took off. She don’t want to stick around any longer due to her inability to speak. She find it embarrassing.
“Thank you… Mohua,” he calls out after Mohua walks away. She could hear it but she just kept walking away feeling shy and embarrassing at the same time.
Not long after this encounter, there was a rumor that he was looking for an assistant and even brought up his savior, which is her, Mohua. Mohua didn’t even know of this until Manhua and Caiyan brought it up. Many people are talking behind her back that she is seeking an opportunity to get close to Zhang Tianheng. She couldn’t talk back nor refute anything.
When this rumor is getting out of hand, she was summoned to the Heavenly Palace. She didn’t know what she did wrong or why she was summoned, but based on her intuition, it must be about this rumor. She got there and bow to show her respect to the Heavenly Emperor. Below him, sat Zhang Tianheng and a few other officials. Next to the Heavenly Emperor, sat the Heavenly Empress in golden silk clothes.
She felt so flustered, scared, and confused all at the same time. She was afraid she’ll be in some sort of trouble. “You may rise,” said the Heavenly Emperor, “Do you know why I summon you here today?”
She slowly shook her head, not saying a word. The Heavenly Emperor breathes a breath and said, “Zhang Tianheng is looking for an assistant and recommended you to be his assistant, what do you say?” He asks knowing that she cannot speak. Only some people knew or ever heard of her especially her inability to speak. She panic and shook her head and slowly lowers her head feeling embarrassed and ashamed. She panic feeling he is putting her on the spot. Is it that he is trying to prove to Zhang Tianheng that she cannot speak? If this is what he is aiming, that is sure cruel to her.
“Why are you not speaking?” Zhang Tianheng asks looking at her smiling, “Do not worry, I don’t mean harm.” He is trying to reassure her and she can tell he does not mean harm but she only shook my head and lower her head.
An official bursts into laughter, “She cannot answer you as she is a mute. What do you expect to come out from her mouth?” Then other officials started laughing following suit. This is really embarrassing to her. She slowly looks up at Zhang Tianheng and bit her lips showing him her pitiful eyes as it is a fact she cannot speak.
“Since she cannot speak, do you still want her to be your assistant?” The Heavenly emperor asks Zhang Tianheng directly. He wasn’t laughing at the comment, but made a serious look toward him giving him a hard time.
Zhang Tianheng seems disappointed. He slowly looks away with a smile and shook his head, “If that is the case then I will not make it difficult for her.” He looks at the laughing officials and said in a proud tone, “Even though she cannot speak doesn’t mean you can laugh at her like this. Like this, you’re worse than a mute!” With that, he left the hall not looking back. All the officials stop laughing and they put back on their serious face feeling embarrassed.
“You may go back,” said the Heavenly Emperor. Mohua slowly nods and bow before heading out. As she head out of the Heavenly Palace, tons of maids, princes, and princesses laugh at her whispering a lot of things in their ears. At this moment, she felt like her heart is so heavy making it difficult for her to breathe. She was really sad, and felt deeply hurt in this moment, but no tears can come out.
She just told herself, this is normal. This was not the first and won’t be the last time that someone laughs and talks about her in this way. She should already be over it. She take a deep breath and walks off with a smile proudly passing Zhang Tianheng. She did not take a look at him. To her, this is an insult. He didn’t dare say anything to defend her when many people whisper so many hideous words, comments, and rumors, but she can understand and she is not mad.
Zhang Tianheng watches as she took off and sigh. A prince nearby shook his head, “It’s a pity she is a mute or else I’d say she is the most bwautiful here in this realm. General Zhang, you should forget about this flower, she does not match you,” then he took off after resting his hand on Zhang Tianheng’s shoulder. This prince is the youngest prince of the Heavenly Emperor and the Empress named, Wang Liming.
