Cici’s Diary Log: Entry 5 - July 5, 2020
Arckwar Boarding School
08:00 am, Dorm Room
Start of Year 7 at Arckwar and after being homeschooled since year 1, it feels like stepping into a whole new world. I’m roommates with Jolene, thank goodness, she’s intelligent and enables me . . . sometimes. There’s another girl here too, Blanche. She makes a lot of funny faces and is a grade lower than Jolene. I think we'll get along fine. Room is nice. Two bunk beds, but three occupants, big windows, a bathroom, a common and study desk in the middle of it all and the walls are lined with closet doors. There’s also a balcony. We’re on the 3rd floor.
I hope Maxima can stay with us next year. Would that be possible?
Right now, Jolene’s denizen, Midas the golden brushtail possum, is having a heated debate with Apo, my prairie dog. They’re both camped out by the window seat. Meanwhile, Blanche’s denizen is Pink, a parakeet—yep, a pink parakeet. How cool is that?

2:15 pm Circle
This place is massive. There was a tour this morning, so I didn't get a chance to write. I ran into Kaede at the library—so many books, it’s like a maze of knowledge!
Now I’m at the Circle. It’s enormous, like a gigantic swimming pool, only with grass steps instead of water. Or maybe it's grass steps with a grass pool in the middle? There’s a big dip at the center—do they have concerts here or something?
If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.
Jairen's and Nash are around, mingling with different clans. Claude snoozed next to me while Jolene and Blanche went off to grab ice cream from the canteen.
Raiver’s here as well, surprise, surprise. I thought he was studying at Astranea Royal Institute.
He’s a Werewolf Royal Alphablood, tenth in line for the Sacaria Crown- the Werewolf Monarch. He’s four years older than me, and I just discovered he’s one of the most popular guys around. He even has a fan page on the school social forum. I just logged in and saw tons of pictures of him. But why is he here? There’s a Royal Academy in East Astranean where he’d fit perfectly.
Claude’s waking up.

9:25 pm Dorm again
Claude caught me sneaking glances at Raiver and asked if I had a crush on him. I said no. I barely know him.
But, truth be told, I do know him—though he doesn’t know me. And I’d prefer to keep it that way, if possible.
I first met Raiver four years ago, during the summer at my family’s estate in southern Astranea, near Shadowscar Training Territory. There’s a wide lake that separates our property from the vast forest of Shadowscar Domain.
One night, after a fight with my mother, I wandered off towards the lake, lost my way, and ended up deep in the Shaded Forest. Raiver found me near the beach, on the edge of South Astranea. He guided me back to the estate without anyone noticing, which felt strangely intimate and mysterious.
It was on that moonlit beach that I first saw him—such a magnificent wolf, black and grey, with eyes of such brilliant gold they almost blinded me.
At that moment, as I looked at him, I fell in love.
