In the shade of a tree, a young man taking a nap opened his eyes to see a fox lying in his crossed arms. The fox, whose fur was white as snow with only a blotch of black upon its tail and one of its ears, was sleeping letting quiet breaths out signifying its comfiness within the young man's arms. The young man sighed getting up with care to this small being remembering what happened this past week.
Day 1
This young man was in school, college to be exact, where he was in class learning more English because speaking it for about 17 plus years doesn't exactly change things since he is not a genius in any sense of the word. In fact, all the young man would be is just a little luckier than most he got a couple of scholarships which allowed him to be mostly scot-free because his own money could pay for the rest. The young man, however, didn't have many friends because he spent his days studying and when he got a sense of them went to sleep only visiting classes, and eating when he needed to.
Anyways, the world changed that day, while he was in English class, the air had added a few new components that would later either destroy the world or revolutionize it even further. This class's teacher mostly does stuff online and lets the class mostly do what it wants as long as the average of the class is a C or higher.
The classmate next to the young man apparently noticed the change in the air and asked him before he started dozing off again in this lecture, "Hey, dude, the air seems different today doesn't it? It is like it added flavoring, right?"
"Kevin, I think that someone just put some incense in the air brought in by one of the previous classes," replied the glasses looking guy behind the two.
"No, no, no. I know a bit about incense, alright, Steve." Kevin shutdown that comment adding, "This new flavor is unlike anything I have ever smelt, or tasted, and I trust my senses about this type of stuff."
The young man started sniffing the air, after a while then commented, "It wouldn't be that the world would suddenly change, okay? It might just be like Steve said, also you forgot my name haven't you?"
Kevin quickly responded with, "N-no! Its umm... its, ehh? I forgot it would seem, Steve do you know?"
Steve pulled out a little notebook, while the young man suddenly looked dejected, and after looking at the young man's face flipped through the notebook finally said, "Orion is his name, it seems his habits of resting every chance he gets made him practically unknown. Especially with his near average grades, and never going to events except those that matter."
Orion looked surprised and suddenly looked horrified, "Stalker," was all he said then scooched away a bit from Steve who hurriedly explained himself.
"That, um... I have everyone in my classes written down in this little booklet, isn't that right Kevin!" tears threatened to spill out of his eyes while looking towards Kevin for help.
Kevin explained, "Steve, you see, has an interesting hobby, that is about discerning who people are after seeing them interact with the environment for a bit and writes in his notebook about them. Afterwards, Steve, goes around and collects information about them from around the person, to see if his information is correct. Right?"
Steve nodded his head up and down rapidly, while saying, "Yep! That's right, what I wrote about you after the first impression was that you were unsociable, but after researching about you I found that you were instead just lazy."
"Hey, it is not lazy just highly energy conserving! Also, I converse with the people who talk to me first, okay. Just that I would rather sleep all day under a nice tree doesn't change that fact," Orion harrumphed.
Just then a few words appeared before humanity's and other sapient creatures of the world.
[Hello there, those of intelligence! We are to say congratulations, due to your imaginations we have now recovered the energy used to create new laws for the world!]
As people were suddenly confused about this message another quickly followed.
[Anyways, because we fed upon your imagination we let out a byproduct law for the world, maybe a few of you already noticed it! Well, its a lot of different things, but one things for sure, remember those novels about magick, and other things, it is good. Try it out a bit and maybe discover what a few of these new laws are! I can't tell you anything, because that would be spoilers!]
As chaos ensued, and chunni's laughed loudly one last message ensued.
[Oh, yeah I need to tell you one more thing! Try saying 'status' sometime it may be a fun experience!]
Orion looked at the two around him and they looked back unison and Orion exclaimed, "Status!"

"Hey guys..." Orion started to ponder, "We are in a basic game to world novel aren't we?"
The two follow him in saying status and the reply in unison, "Yeah we are...""What kind of novel is that."
The two of them look at Kevin and say, "It is when a game system fuses with the laws of the world, it usually adds magick upon other things, like dragons..." Orion started saying followed by Steve mentioning some technical stuff like, certain novels to read when he has time.
Orion interrupted him by sighing, "Check your phones before you say that, I am not sure if mine was already dead or not."
Kevin pulled out his phone and replied, "Seems like mine is dead too."
Steve exclaimed when he checked his phone, "The electronics are most likely being affected by the new energies in the air! NOOO! MY! NOVELS!"
Orion sighed and got up walking towards the door, "Well, let's calm down and see if there is a dungeon or some other lunacy to help us out a bit in these newly christened laws."
Waiting outside the door, Orion looked back into the classroom, "Is anybody gonna help me, or?"
"Are you crazy, you idiot, we do not know how to fight so leave that to the people in the Martial Arts and sports clubs!" replied the teacher who was silently monitoring the situation earlier, impressed by the class taking it in strides and not going into chaos. The teacher grabbed one of the students that seemed to be in the Sprinter's club to send a message to the security guards in the building to gather the students up later.
"Oh..." Orion flushed red in embarrassment, "I should learn about the new items surrounding us first, I see..." Orion took the time to try to see the difference in the day before and today, noticing the flavored air filled with what seemed to be vibrancy.
"Hey, Kevin... I think the mana is what gave the air the flavour, let's try that out first and see if we can gather it through will or something."
Steve was the one that perked up this time, "I don't think that will help much we most likely need a medium of wood or metal to conduct mana." Steve also tried to move the 'mana' through will too, but ultimately failed, due to not knowing how to properly do so even if they could.
Other students started gathering after panicking for a bit, and started to form around the trio taking it in stride. There being about 20 people in total, one of them spoke, "So, how do you think we should help the chaos that would surely be happening at the moment?"
The teacher who was busy making notes at the time slowly spoke this time, "Well, people are probably worrying about their families and would try to start their cars or other machinery that will probably not work anymore. If anything these new laws probably left people stranded in traffic around the world, and they will possibly start migrating to safe locations in cities. So, we should start by getting maps and marking those possible safe areas down.
"Also, since this is a college we should have plenty of smart people to help us create a safe location, only that we have to prepare a lot of resources for now and start rationing them."
With that info dump the sprinter finally made it back and started to say, "The security team has begun coordinating and designated the gymnasium as the gathering point for students and staff for now, as they swept the place for any dangers."
This calmed the students down as the teacher gathered everyone according to fire drill procedures, "Everyone make sure not to rush or shout as that will only cause panic and injuries!" The teacher shouted as they made their way down the halls gathering other classes' attentions also and directing them to the gymnasium sending their Running -type club students to alert other classes.
Once everyone made it near the gymnasium, the security team seemed to go into overdrive and they could see the heads of campus ahead of them, placating any rash decisions students could have made during that time. It seemed some students have also gone missing or are at another location. So, the security team is also sent out in groups making sure everyone makes their way over safely also sending people out to help the city they are in get to their location to make sure everyone can work together for a bit. Because losing the ability to control and direct electricity would actually cause a lot of problems in society.
This continued for a couple of hours until the majority of the people in campus were accounted for. The college's president brought the student council with him in order to help the students understand the position they are in. "We have discovered a few things while we were gathering you all here," the college president started off by saying.
Getting the people's attention they looked on attentively, "In order to get a class, like a job, you must do certain things. To be a Martial Practitioner you must do martial arts, this was discovered by our Judo club's advisor, Larry Hendmor. His Class's name is, Judo Practitioner, and by his words announced that he feels his martial arts got sharper when he got this class.
"So, if we get into trouble we can at least have a fighting force if need be. Also, jobs like botanist and farmer also exist and apparently it increases growth rate of plants under their care. Jobs were added to their 'Status' underneath their class rank.
"Anyways, this means a multitude of things; one, this idiocy of an universal law will cause a slaughter among us humans..." this caused the speaker to sigh as he moved on, "Two, we are definitely going to have to fight for our survival as remember what that voice said, 'those of intelligence,' which means almost every creature on this planet will be affected by this [Status] and make them stronger and smarter too.. Finally the third will be, we will have to cultivate our strengths fast and hard in order for us to stay on top, and survive."
People started to get a little bit panicked as they started a hushed discussion amongst themselves. Noticing this the Student Council took over and started directing people to their own strengths and groups while drafting a plan to prepare for the days to come.
