To those who stayed to see if I would release something else, I appreciate you hanging around :) Let me tell you what I have been working on.
1. I started a fantasy novel based on a DnD campaign I'm playing. I have about 10,000 words written, however, COVID caused us to table it obviously. I don't want to release that until we are back to playing again, so I don't go on hiatus for months. It won't have stats, but I will be writing in abilities people use, nat 1s, nat 20s, etc. to add some behind-the-scenes explanation to a particularly successful, or not so successful, scene. Pretty excited for that one.
2. The novel I currently started is a fanfiction. I know, I know. Besides Borne of Caution (pokemon one that is soooo good), they aren't really successful on this site. I'm taking a different approach to the typical fanfiction, however.
If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
I am writing a story set in the Harry Potter universe, but 200 years into the future. Muggles know about magic, and there are some pretty drastic differences between JK's world and mine. A big one is that mine is a bit more "adult". People don't start school until 17-18 years old (explained in the book) and so naturally, the world has way more adult themes and consequences than 12-year-olds. Think of it as a house. I bought the house, so to speak, but I am completely remodeling it. There will be no character I introduce that has been in the books previously, except by name or for historical purposes.
If you want to give it a follow and try it out, I'd love that. I have 3 chapters up, and I plan on releasing a total of 10 over the next month to take advantage of the RR algorithm before calming down. If you try it and aren't a fan just due to the nature of the story, all good. I should hopefully be putting up the DnD campaign story sometime during the summer :)
